Summary: To Visor or Not To Visor
Review: I recently received a Handspring Visor Deluxe as a gift and have to say that I am very pleased. I find it quite useful as a dayplanner as well as an entertainment tool. I am hoping to begin using it for email shortly.

I would definitely recommend this product b/c of the expansion capablilities and how compatible it is with palm software (it is based on a palm os).

Definitely get it if you are in the market for one.

Summary: nice gadget
Review: my only regret is i should have bought the ice model rather than the blue...

sadly after only a few years of service, this gadget packed up. lost all my data. very annoying. decided not to replace it, too.

Summary: Great Product: Easy to use and more.
Review: I know that all Palm OS devices are just as easy to use, but the Handspring goes beyond that with ease of upgrading via the Springboard module.

The USB sync is also faster that the serial port used by other Palm devices. Graffiti is easy and fun to learn, but you can alsways use the on screen keyboard.

Another advantage of a Visor is the 5 colors. This may not sound important, but you'll have all your friends coming over to you and asking "what is that?". There is also a built-in Microphone for use with software that handles voice input, I have never used it, but it has a lot of potential.

But again, I think the best feature is the Springboard module. You can add a MP3 player, digital camera, modem, extra memory, even games and books. Can your Palm do that :)

If you're thinking of getting a Palm based PIM, get the Visor, you won't regret it. (and Amazon has a 30 money back guarantee if you do)

Summary: Great Product (even if the marketing is ahead of reality)
Review: The Handspring Visor is a solid, great product. It doesn't really venture into new territory. It looks like a Palm, uses the Palm platform and has the same standard buttons. It is however a whole lot cheaper, for a whole lot more memory. I use it everyday and I love it. BUT, I am consistently irritated by the much ballyhooed module concept Handspring promotes. Currently there is a weak digital camera, and a slow modem that requires phone line hook up. Where are the promised GPS module and wireless modem? Those are the modules that make the Palm a legitimate alternative. Lets speed up production on that stuff and quit talking about how great the modules are until they exist.

Summary: firemans friend
Review: as a person who works strange hours and work days that vary, I was looking for a way to get organized. After much research I found a visor, now i can keep track of everthing from meal expenses to which job I'm supposed to be at. No more phone numbers on paper ending up in the washing machine and checking email is a breeze, I just found the palm sites and now I'm downloading books for the downtime at work, VERY VERY helpful. The visor is light weight and easily fits into a back pocket, it comes with a leather slip case which is kinda cheesy but it does its job. One problem I had was trying to Snyc at work, running WIN/NT and it was having trouble finding the device but a few emails to handspring and everythings working fine. Problem two, Be sure to buy the serial port for NT/95 its an extra 30 bucks if you order it seperatly, unless you get at the same time as the PDA its only 20 through their website. Overall a good product and a definite help to anyone thats got more than one thing going on.

Summary: Best thing for an IT type person.
Review: This is one product that I'd say is worth the purchase... you get what you pay for, and what you get is way more than what you do pay for.. If you're using a regular old datebook.. consider this Visor Delux as a bionic organizer w/ multiple functionalities. I've done my research over all the PDA's out there including the info. on the companies.. Handspring Visor Delux is the way to go. =)

Summary: Great Value and Performance
Review: I got one of these for graduation. It's excellent! It feels a bit slimmer and narrower than a Palm III (a plus), comes in colors, and has DateBook Plus - MUCH better than the DateBook that ships on 3Com's Palms. The springboard concept is great. I got an Eyemodule digital camera and it's great for snapping small, candid shots. The one I got from Amazon came with a leather slip case and metal stylus (it still comes with the plastic cover, but I didn't really like that thing. BTW, the OS is upgradable via a software patch for those Flash ROM sticklers out there.

Summary: Can't Upgrade Operating System
Review: While the Springboard Modules are a great feature of the Visor, it is important to remember that you can't upgrade the Palm OS on a Visor. Most models of the Palm (with the exception of the Palm IIIe) will allow you to upgrade to the latest version of the Palm OS.

Summary: Watch your battery
Review: Absolutely love the features, ease of use and compact size. Hate, hate, hate what happens when the batteries get low. On one occasion I noticed the battery indicator was showing "midpower" (not even "low"), attempted to back everything up onto the module and ended up losing everything in a freeze (now I know why they call this model "ice"). To keep this from becoming a love/hate relationship I suggest backing up often and really watching the battery.

Summary: Handspring makes a great jump!
Review: For a first-time PDA user, I was very impressed with the Visor Deluxe. The installation process was a no-brainer, and the ease of use is kid simple (depending on your kid). The only downers were that the user guide is in PDF format (282 pages on paper if you want to print it), and phone tech support could be better (e-mail support is the way to go). Once tech sup is improved, and the Springboard expansion modules (a throwback to the Atari 2600 video game days) start to hit the market, Palm Inc. better look out.
