Rating: Summary: Service Plan/Product too expensive. But still a great buy! Review: The Palm VII is a Great product. It has practical applicationsand the wireless web is cool. If you buy this product be sure todownload The DPWeb application. It gives you the ability to go to any address on the internet. THE ONLY problem I found with this product is the cost of the service plan. It costs at least $10 per month and gives you only 50kb of web use. Believe me YOU can use up the 50kb really quick!
Rating: Summary: FINALLY, THE INTERNET STUFF I NEED, IN MY HAND! Review: The Palm VII really does deliver. I was skeptical about "Web clipping", but it's BETTER than regular internet! You don't have to download all the Internet "junk" you don't need. (Graphics, ads etc..) "Just gimmee' the info!" Moviefone and yahoo people search are just 2 of dozens of useful web clipped sites! Plus, it's faster than I thought it would be (It's no T1, but it's better than anything else I've seen, plus no cellular airtime charges). Now, if we can just get it all in color......
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: The world of wireless data is here! This machine today is the greatest computer device I have ever used. A pitty in 1 year it will be nothing more than an expensive paperweight but technology is all about here and now and this is here and now and awesome!
Rating: Summary: Hmm... Review: This has the potential to be a good device, but lost a lot. The palm VII can connect to the internet with pretty good rates, but the most it can do is webclipping apps, like Wall Street Journal. While it can probably do more if you connect using a manual connection, you have to go through a lot. Also nagging is the fact that it only has 2mb of memory, not allowing you to store lots of programs. However, this can be a good thing, because you don't load lots of useless programs on. The contrast nobbie in the back got annoying because it was hard to use, but it never got accidentally adjusted like the palm Vx could. The palm VII is for the net user, but if you aren't going to use it for the internet, buy an m100, same as this only round and modem-free. (I happen to like the boxy shape of the VII.)
Rating: Summary: The computer wiz Review: This is a great product. I loved it from day one, and I have been using for about 1 1/2 years now. It may take a week or two to get used to handwriting if you have never done it on any other device before, but once that hurdle is passed, it is a minature computer at the palm of your hand!
Rating: Summary: palm vii - revolutionary Review: This is the most elegant solution I have seen to the problem of keeping instant access to email, syncing a datebook and address book, and having some access to www data. The palmnet service adds $/month to your bills, but works flawlessly. I hardly need my laptop now, unless I plan to use Word a lot.
Rating: Summary: Too Old Review: This used to be a great device. However, as of Aug. 31, 2004, Palm is discontinuing their Palm.Net wireless service. As the Palm VII cannot be reconfigured to use a different service, the vast majority of its functionality is now gone. If you just need a basic handheld, the Palm VII will still work in this capacity, but there are other devices which work just as well for a lower cost.
Rating: Summary: unless you own stock in Duracell forget it Review: this was the second Palm I owned, and was a closeout model, and it was terrible. Battery life is non-existent unless one week counts. In fact was away from unit for a week and not only were the batteries completely dead, but lost all data. I love the convenience of a PDA, just not THIS PDA
Rating: Summary: Palm VII - a must now that the price is rolled back Review: We are so excited by the potential of the Palm VII and 3COM that we added the company to our portfolio this week. Why? Because it almost replaces our need for lugging a laptop around, yet we can synchonize all our data bases with one touch by pushing the HotSync button on the cradle. I am addicted to Palm.Net and for the techies out there like myself, it is fun to surf for new apps and games to download to your Palm. Checking and filtering important urgent e-mail is so easy, and it doesn't disturb the original e-mail on your desktop, if you don't want it to. The Graffiti shorthand is extremely easy to use, there is a game called Giraffe that teaches it in a fast, fun way to comprehend. If you don't like their shorthand, there is a touch-and-type-with-your-stylus keyboard, that can be used faster than typing a regular keyboard. Date book, address list, to do list, memo list all customizable and very well thoughtout. There are at least 3500+ apps out there for this baby - freeware & shareware, just by downloading then syncing with the cradle button. The only negative comment I have is: I wish someone would write a magnifying zoom program for us middle aged eyesight people! Sometimes I go buggy from looking at the screen, (true of my laptop and desktop as well)! Truly a neat great toy, fun gadget and necessary gotta have item I can't live without! Price was rolled back $ recently (this fall),check your prices and don't be ripped off by imitations. Check your wireless signal area first before buying, too. LMK if you agree with my review! - A very happy Palm user
Rating: Summary: Stop reading this and buy a Palm VII NOW ! Review: What an incredible device. I have literally been waiting adecade for a wireless net-ready PDA. Remember those old "Youwill" ads from AT+T? heheheh.. Well now, I _AM_! The cell modem is faster than I expected, the unlimited volume Palm.net service plan is wonderful, and the available software is great. Definitely get Digital Paths' DPWeb DX web browser, which opens up much of the WWW to your Palm VII. I cannot express how cool the Palm VII is. I am completely impressed. If you are thinking of going wireless PDA, the Palm VII is probably your best bet right now.
