Summary: Excellent Device For Those On The Go.
Review: An excellent device, good representative of the inovativeness of 3Com. The wireless features make an already great product superb. The abundance of third-party applications allows the user to customize their organizer for their individual needs. The wireless features are limited to the range of the Bell South towers, but this little problem can be overlooked by most. Add to all this the already easy-to-use Palm Computing Platform, and the organizing power of third-party datebooks, and you've got an all-around great device.

Summary: as promised
Review: delivers better than promised with additional "aftermarket" software installed from the palm.net website. you can access all of your pop3 accounts, quotes, etc. bandwidth usage is easily tracked and very manageable--not that big a worry. beats lugging your laptop around just to access email and gets your email in less than 15 seconds.

Summary: These babies are great
Review: I had the III for a long time but just had to make the jump to the VII.

It does everything I want and let's me get more stuff faster from Amazon from the road and it even works in the air on planes (not sure the FAA or seat back phone companies will like that, though).

It's fantastic. The only downside is the wireless is somewhat slow and expensive but it's really v1.0

Summary: Palm VII
Review: I have had the Palm VII since June 99. This is a very easy product to use. For the most part, I am happy with the Palm VII. However, the wireless feature really burns the batteries down fast. The price has come down somewhat in six months. The price should either come down some more or the power source should be improved.

Summary: Palm VII Nice but too Bulky
Review: I have the Palm V but wanted the Palm VII. So, I bought it, got connected to the internet and it was really cool/neat/great! However, the SIZE of it was just too bulky. I felt like I was carrying a copy of War and Peace in my suit coat. I have written to 3COM to find out if they plan to make the Palm 8 or 10 or 12 or whatever--just so it's more sleek like the Palm V. Great device, but I plan to wait a year to see if a "sleeker" one comes out.

Summary: This is a great information tool.
Review: I purchased one at Palm Source '99 and I love it. I was able to send/receive emails while listening to the keynote speakers and I took short notes during the sessions. The internet access is a tremendous benefit. I like not being tied to a desk just so I can get information. The Palm VII is a great tool.

Summary: Great Product!
Review: I received my Palm VII yesterday. It was amazingly easy to set up. All I had to do was pop in the batteries, wait for it to charge, flip up the antenna, and away I went. I can find out movie times at the nearest theater, I can trade stocks through Fidelity, and I have synchronized my address and date books on both my laptop and desktop. This way, I can use my Palm as a conduit between the two without actually setting up a network. On top of everything, the connection is really pretty fast. Definitely purchase this product.

Summary: Really great for busy working mother
Review: I received the Palm VII as a christmas gift and I love it. Many people have complained about the bulky size, but mine is saving space. I used to carry a day-runner planner, wallet, calculator and sticks-its for reminders and people's numbers. Now I have everything on my palm in a little wallet case. It is great to know other palmers and beam information back and forth. I do have three suggestions: 1. Order the Ultimate Palm Guide by David Pogue and look through it before starting. It makes the process more comfortable and fun. The cd is great, but don't get carried away with downloads--remember 2 Mb's. 2. Do not get the slim leather case as it has the annoying habit of turing palm on and wearing the battery down. I have a general palm case with wallet that works great now. 3. See about getting an extended Protection Plan, it doesn't cover droppage, but almost everything else. My life is changing with the alarms that sound for a reminder of what to do, expense tracking for when I am out, and access to programs when I can't get to a computer, like Amazon to order a book someone says is great before I forget the title.

Summary: Palm VII and DPWeb (from Digital Paths): They Rock!
Review: I'm a gizmo-holic! I generally buy new toys when they first hitthe market then I get tired of them. Palm VII though, is another story. In and of itself, is not very exciting, but when DPWeb from Digital Paths is installed on it, Like Justin said, you can go anywhere you want. Most importantly, DPWeb if free! Conclusion: Buy Palm VII then download DPWeb. it's like you've got your laptop connected to the Internet, in your back pocket.

Summary: Palm VII is a great productivity tool...
Review: I've had my Palm VII since Feb 2000. With the unlimited access I use my Palm all the time to do nearly all of my main computer-related tasks. My laptop and computer setups at home now become support tools for my computing needs. The Palm VII has become my primary tool. The wireless feature allows me to get my email in 30 seconds from flip the antenna to email-viewed.... if you want to see your email fast, this is the way to do it. I have a my company and all other email accounts forward a copy to my Palm email address.... I end up reading the Palm mail and deleting the originals. If I find that I've been sent an attachment, I then know that I need to go to my original account to go get it.

I have 3 types of apps that I bought for the Palm VII: HandDbase, MultimailPro, and Quickbase... this allows me to create databases, send email with attachments and create Excel-compatible spreadsheets. MultimailPro's ability to send and receive attachments makes it possible to create, send and receive memos, spreadsheets and databases to/from the Palm wirelessly!! Eliminating the need for you to go buy a PocketPC to do the same... and Wirelessly!

Finally, several wireless Web-page browsers for the Palm VII are out there. I use DPWeb.. adequate-- not Explorer--- but I'm not complaining.

Only thing I'd like to do but can't quite yet is pay my bills wirelessly through the web... I'm sure we'll see this in the future.
