Summary: good product
Review: This is a great device to help you get organized. I bought a refurbished one...

It works well with Outlook.

I never use the grafitti; instead I use the onscreen keyboard. Although I might consider buying the targus portable keyboard which would make this a lightweight fully functional laptop.

This device has helped me get organized and I am glad I purchased it.

Summary: I love my Handspring!
Review: I wouldn't give my Visor Deluxe up for anything!!! I use it not only to keep track of my busy life, but also for entertainment while on the go.

My options were Pocket PC, Palm, or GameBoy Advance. I wanted something that would keep me busy while away from home, but also was interested in something with a little more 'oomph'. I settled on the Palm OS because it is the best (in my opinion) and most well-known PDA system. During my picking through devices, I knew I would end up with the GBA because I was more interested in the entertainment side of the device. But after I loked a little more into it I figured that it was too large too carry around everywhere, and the Palm can deliver more functionality.

I use my Visor Deluxe for scheduling, email, address book, web browsing, and gaming. A lot more than the GBA (or Pocket PC) could handle! I also like the springboard concept because when/if I decide to get a cell phone I can just get a module for the visor, so I don't have to carry a billion and one devices with me wherever I go.

If you are looking for a good, reliable, easy-to-use, fun, functional, and upgradeable PDA, then buy this unit!

Summary: Unreliable
Review: I have had my VDx for about 15 months. I used it daily, but would occasionally get "Fatal error" messages which required a hard reset and the loss of my most recent data. Finally my original unit died. I called customer service, which is NOT an 800 number and waited 15 minutes to get through. They sent me a replacement "refurbished" unit which was defective. I then went through the same procedure on the phone and amazingly got another defective unit!
I have had it with Handspring and will look elsewhere for my next PDA.

Summary: It has all the features you need at a great price.
Review: CONS first:
1. all the buttons on the front are dimpled so you can use your stylus on them.... EXCEPT the up/down buttons... why?

2. the screens are breakable, but this is true of every PDA.
--i broke the screen on my first visor, so with my next one i purchased a protective case -- this is a MUST for people who carry it everywhere, and it is the only accessory that i highly recommend buying.

3. the design is kinda ugly.

pros:
i shopped long and hard for the perfect pda (which i think does nto exist -- see cons above). i settled on the visor because i knew a few people who had one and they were happy. i also choose the visor because it has room for expansion if i ever need it.

i have not needed more than 8megs of space yet... but i do not sync my email as much as i used to.

my advice to beginners: buy the visor and do not waste your money on the bells and whistles until you know what you want. [....] if you spend $600 on a pocket pc, then you might later realize that you paid for features that you never use.

Summary: Handspring Visor Deluxe
Review: WoW! The Handspring Visor Deluxe is the best PDA out there.
Aside from having the lowest price and the Palm os, it's expantible! You can tun it into a GPS, digital camera, remote controll, or cell phone. I've had a Visor deluxe for a few months now and if you don't have one you should.

Summary: Invaluable Gadget, Great Price
Review: I've had my Visor Deluxe for almost two years and I still use it every day. It's much more convenient than the paper organizer that I used to use, and after I started to use my Visor, I said that I would never go back. Even though newer Visor's have come out and more powerful Pocket PCs (such as the Compaq IPAQ) are available, I saw no reason to spend the extra money when my Visor served its purpose. The only thing that I think it lacks is rechargeable batteries, but those can easily be bought. The fact that the screen is not a color screen, doesn't matter to me because I have been using the black and white screen for so long. If you don't have a PDA, the Visor Deluxe is a great investment, and if you decide that it is not for you, the investment is not a large one.

Summary: I'm in heaven
Review: I've always been into organization, but held off on getting a pda, mainly because I didn't want to enter information into the pda and have to re-enter it into my computer. The HotSynch feature is literally the touch of 1 button. No conflicts with my PC (rare in my life). And the expansion opportunities are endless. Easy, intuitive entry of info.

Summary: Perfect First PDA
Review: I've had this Visor Deluxe for a year--it was my first. After years of being skeptical of PDAs, I began to see how useful one might be as more and more of my friends had them and seemed to like them. I was just curious enough to get one and this was a great choice.

First, I chose a Visor over the other types because the price was right and the look was a little hipper. I have the Orange one, but in general the design is edgier than the standard black, curved ones I'd seen all nestled in their leatherette cases. Also, as I was not sure whether I'd be able to adjust to a digital method of organizing, I got a Visor because even if I ended up not being able to do the digital calendar and address book thing, I could at least turn it into a digital camera or a gps navigator--check out the springboard modules. They sold me on the Visor because of the infinite possibilities.

Though the Visor Deluxe is a lower-end model, I can still recommend it highly. If it's your first one, it's a great first one. It's sturdy and stable. I never "lost everything" which happened to my friends with other devices. Additionally, I pushed it to the limit. I've recently replaced it for the Pro with twice as much memory and some speed--but this was a ready-to-move-up replacement and not a "shoulda gotten a nicer one first" replacement.

It runs a good while on batteries, and once you teach yourself to sock away a pair or two of spares, there's very little worry. You can change batteries without losing everything, even if you're not near your computer. Everything you put on the visor ends up on your PC when you sync it--read: if you wake up and the cat knocked your visor into the toilet, the data is all there on your PC and you can zap it into your replacement device.

In addition to springboard modules, there is software aplenty for the downloading: games, expense trackers, clocks, reference materials. And then there are the pda related content services where you can get a city guide. I had a city guide, a dictionary, a game or two, some special timers, my checkbook and daily-refreshing periodicals, a recipe database, lists, my calendar and my contacts ALL on this one little thing. You gotta try it!

The reason I rate the Deluxe five stars is that within it's class, who could ask for anything more? It's priced on the lower end, but it can run with the big boys.

Summary: The Great Handspring Deluxe
Review: Very Stable.
Very Cool.
Great Screen.

Just think, Handspring released it's first devices over two years ago, and the Visor Deluxe is still battling the new Palms! The Springboard module is great, and fast too! USB hotsync makes life great, and all the accesories you can order for your Handspring don't let the novelity of this product wear off!

I moved on from the Black and White screen of the Deluxe to the Color Prism screen. Functionality of both devices are similar and the Springboard still reigns supreme because it has been out longer then the Palm expansion and has more Springboards then even a SONY has options!

Summary: Not bad at all
Review: Well...at just over a [price]I don't think you could do better. I wanted to get a "Pocket PC" but I have found that this Visor takes care of everything I need. Unless you need a color screen for games or you need pocket office...this unit should meet your needs. Sync's great with Outlook.
