Summary: Perfect for me
Review: This is one of my best investments. I use my ice ice baby daily. With the many downloadable programs, such as banking programs, tip calculating, etc.. there's never a dull moment. I really do use it daily whether it be balancing my checkbook or figuring out my school grades. I even keep track of all those numbers that I used to lose when I carried them around on paper. One word, Perfect!

Summary: The Perfect Companion for a Cyber-Punk Like Me!
Review: I've Always been into the latest gagets, and I've owned several Personal Organizers in my time (Electronic & Old Fashioned), though I admit I'm probably the most un-organized person around.I used my recent electronic organizer which was one of those cheap little deals for almost two years I never used the calendar function once (I hated the way it was organized), and so when my Mother bought me this Handspring Deluxe in beutiful green for my birthday I was stoked. But as before I would use my organizers mostly for keeping my long lists of phone numbers and I found myself even using the Calendar, I found that the Handspring Deluxe offers so much more. I use the notepad in it for jotting down all kinds of notes, and even have occasionally downloaded directions from the internet and pasted them in it. I've also found myself using it for more obscure purposes too, see I'm a vegetarian and since I read the lables of the food I buy I was able to create a dictionary of food product defintions on it to assist me in my meticulous shopping. I've also found that the e-book software that you can download for it a backsaver in being able to keep my books on it insted of carring around the infinite number of pounds of books I seem to carry around with me on a daily basis. I also have found that a check register app for it actually keeps my checking account balenced, who would've thought? Though I haven't yet bought any accessories for it, I plan to buy them as soon as I get the money, I have to admit the MP3 player module looks really tempting. I have to say it's definitelly worth every penny you'd pay for it, I never leave home without it!

Review: I used to make fun of people who bought handhelds -- I thought they were nothing more than overpriced address books. I just love my Visor, though! Not only does it keep my ever-changing address book neat and easy, but there are a million other handy uses for it: reading the news on the bus, taking pictures, keeping appointments, making lists, etc. Very easy to use, fun and handy.

Review: When the first generation of handheld computers were introduced, I decided I had to own one, so I bought a WinCE one made by Hewlett-Packard. I only owned it for a few months due to circumstances, but I became accustomed to the convenience of a handheld. Four years later, the Handspring Visor was released. At first I thought it looked cheesy because, well, it had those same fruity flavors that the iMac became famous for. Upon further inspection, however, I found out that it runs on PalmOS, is more sturdy than it looks and as a matter of fact runs faster than any other Palm product out there (at time of review, anyway). I was quickly won over and now I own a sleek blue one. I can honestly say this thing has become an essential part of my day. I use it for everything from reading e-books to writing this review! It's simply amazing and even Graffiti is VERY intuitive and easy to learn. The only downside to Graffiti is that after writing with it for a while, when I try to switch back to writing on paper, I find myself trying to write in Graffiti! Seriously though, the Visor is much smaller and lighter than my handheld from 4 years ago, but so much more convenient. It has a gorgeous, crisp screen and a very cool backlight, which allows me to read and write text in complete darkness. HotSyncing is a breeze, as it uses the USB port (a connector for serial ports is optional). Some may think no AC adapter is a con, but I haven't found it to be a problem at all. There's no major battery drain and I can do MANY things before I ever find my batteries low. As long as you're prepared to buy AAA batteries every so often, I can't really say this is a big deal. I can say, however, that if you plan to do a lot of websurfing, it'd be a good idea to stock up on batteries, as this DOES drain them more than usual. I suppose this is the sacrifice you make for being somewhat mobile though. ;) It's far exceeded my expectations and I'd strongly recommend it for just about anyone! There are hundreds, probably thousands of useful programs for it, and a Visor combined with a Targus Stowaway keyboard and a CardAccess thincom modem (like I'm using right now) could probably replace most laptops for a MUCH cheaper price, unless you'd need it for multimedia purposes. The Visor is still much more portable than a laptop, weighing in at just about a pound *with* optional modem and keyboard included - I'd suggest that you get all three!

Summary: Worth every penny
Review: I was somewhat hesitant to buy a PDA since I'm so used to my bulky notebook/calendar/date book, but the day I rec'd it from Amazon, my old organizer was obsolete. I do all my business appts, expense reports, mtgs lists, ph/fax/email books all from my Visor. I like it b/c you can expand it and it's storage space is huge. I know of people wanting to get into a Visor instead of their Palm asap, b/c of it's versitility and power. A standing O for everyone at Handspring for making the best PDA.

Summary: Great, useful gadget for the electronically impaired!!
Review: Went looking for a Palm Device w/my husband and found the Handspring. Like the look and feel and ease of use. Hand writing recognition software easy to adapt to (except for all punctuation, still figuring it out). The longer I have it the more I find to do and put in it. The 8 MB of memory is plenty if you are using it for work purposes. Have no games on mine so don't know about that aspect. Was able to get rid of several different books (address book, schedule book, etc.) and is a space saver. Great way to get rid of all those scraps of paper w/list on them that you are constantly losing. Has helped tremedously to get me organized. Easily fits into a pocket (say on a shirt) or purse. A great way to keep needed info handy @ all times. The case is sturdy and protects the LCD screen. The "hotsyncing" software keeps all the info up to date between your computer and Visor. The software is great for entering a lot of info by using your keyboard on your computer and by hitting 1 button (the hotsync) it is all transferred to the Visor. Would recommend the Deluxe over the standard Visor b/c it gives you 4 times the memory and some of the shareware or programs take up 1 MB of memory. The longer you have it the more you'll love it!! We now own 2 and have it on our Christmas list for family members so I don't know a much higher recommendation I could give than that!!

Summary: Suspect Quality
Review: Bought my Handspring visor a couple of months ago to replace the Palm III I've had for 2 years that my fiance now owns. After a week, I noticed the screen loose in my Handspring. When you tap on the top of the screen, it actually moved. I took it back and got another one, the replacement now has a loose screen. And it has never been dropped. The reverse backlighting is difficult, if not impossible to read, except for total blackout conditions. The next time I buy a PDA, I'll stick with the Palm products. Better quality, better screen, and in my humble opinion, better product.

Summary: Fabulous machine, for a fabulous price
Review: It all comes down to how much you are getting for the money spent. The Handspring Visor Deluxe is virtually the same machine as the Palm Vx, except the price and look are different. Let me explain. The Palm Vx has 8 Megs of RAM with the Palm OS and runs at about $400. The Handspring Visor DLX has 8 Megs with Palm OS and runs about $250. I should note that it is the SAME operating system considering the founder of Handspring was also the creator of Palm Computing.The two most important deciding factors on whether or not to go handspring over Palm is the fact that the Handspring has non-rechargable AAA batteries and the Palm design is much sleeker and compact. The Handspring series are reminiscent of some kind of a toy because of its bulky plastic casing. I have purchased this item for myself and my family and it has served us very well. If you are a Mac user then this is the obvious choice for you since it has a USB connector. If you are looking to join the technological realm,sport a powerful, reliable PDA, and have a lot of power at the palm of your hands then this is the PDA for you!

Review: I have to keep very close attention to my fianances and have to know who owes me and who I owe. It has been a vital tool for my line of work I love this tool and it's extreamly large amount of memory has saved me, thanks visor and amazon.
