Summary: Best Solution for Mobile Professional
Review: I've had a PalmIIIx since release. I can not and will not live without it. Ease of integration with many desktop PIM software, extensie body of 3rd party products enhance the very funstional native applications. The additional RAM, sharp screen and Grafitti (which I use in meeting taking real-time notes) are great.

I have since encouraged many of my customers to purchase this device. Not a one is disatisfied.

Summary: Superb!
Review: My Palm IIIx is truely one of the most enjoyable devices that I have ever owned. Boredom has become a thing of the past. I have two whole novels stored in my Palm's memory. There is ample room for five more. I actually look forward to waiting in long lines. The back lighted screen makes reading in the dark a very enjoyable activity. The term "User Friendly" is an under statement when describing the Palm's operating system. I wish that I had know about this little computer years earlier. 3Com or Palm has definitely won another loyal fan.

Summary: THE PALM IIIx ROCKS
Review: I LOVE IT! Despite what others are saying I think the V an IIIx have identical screens. It is very easy to use and it is the only model other than the III to be upgradable. I endorse it 100%

Summary: Speedy Uptime till full useability
Review: WOW! Such power in a very small package. The IIIx came into my paper strewed life just when I lost my last paper Day Timer---Yeech! With a Palm it gets to be easy to write down your important notes, appointments and numbers. Hot Sync with your desktop and you have instant backup. At first, I thought it would be very difficult starting from ground zero to use and transfer information from other desktop programs. But with the help of an "Idiot" book on the Palm it was very easy. It was a big help. I hope I find my Day Timer before tax time or the IRS will have a field day with me and my mileage expenses! Some programs like Card Scan were tricky to transfer data but I managed. This is not against the Palm, but rather, programs that give little explaination to help make a smooth transfer of data to the Palm. Another WOW! Someone just found my Day Timer in Baltimore!

Summary: this is the one!
Review: I thought of getting one of those 'evil CE devices'(shame on me), but I'm glad I didn't. This thing rocks. The screen is great, I can play games, and me and the other geeks at my college can exchange information(and games)through the ir port. I never forget meetings, projects or notes. The extra memory is an added bonus(I couldn't fill this thing up if I tried). Do your self, and anyone that relies on you, a favor--get a palmIIIx. enough said.

Summary: Customization is the essence of Palm's success.
Review: The Palm devices, including Palm IIIx, are an AWESOME and INVALUABLE tool for individuals who: * Have busy schedules, many to-do's, names & phone #'s, and need to keep them all straight; * Want or require the flexibility to customize their Palm device to their needs; * Understand the role this kind of technology plays in the business world; and * Are willing to expand the basic, "vanilla", out-of-the-box functionality -- (although many folks are happy to simply use the Palm as an address & phone book on steroids....but it can do SO much more!). I attribute the success of the Palm devices to the open Palm OS platform, which enables just about anyone to develop simple, useful, and relatively inexpensive programs for the Palm devices. I'm no Palm developer, but I'm an enthusiast who has taken my Palm IIIx to a level that you won't get straight out-of-the box. If you want to maximize the usefulness of your Palm device, I suggest that you take the time to do a little reasearch (there are MANY web sites devoted to nothing but Palm computing) and find out what you can & can't do with a Palm device. In the business world, I think my Palm IIIx can meet most of my needs, except for taking notes during a meeting. The Graphitti writing system is great, but not fast enough for taking notes...at least I've never been able to replace my pen & paper yet! Other than that, the Palm device is revolutionary and standard-issue in many companies! I think the prices are cost-justified, but SHOP AROUND!

Summary: Be mindful when upgrading from earlier Palms...
Review: I've had my Palm 2.0 since Christmas 1996. I couldn't live without it and decided to upgrade to the Palm IIIx. Love the enhanced screen and larger letters when making a new entry. BUT!!! Be careful when sychronizing the first time. MAKE A COPY of your user profile. Make 2 copies... I lost three years worth of address entries because the IIIx overwrote my 2.0 .DAT file. Sob. Sob. If I had only made a copy before synchronizing, I wouldn't be so lost now...

Otherwise. I am addicted to my Palm Pilot. Buy it!

Summary: How did I ever get by without it?!?
Review: I've had my Palm IIIx for approximately 6 months now, and I can't imagine not having one! This takes the Franklin Planner idea to new heights and smaller sizes. You can fit much more into this than a standard planner, and organize your professional life as well as your personal life :-)

Summary: Now that I have don't take it
Review: I was trying to justify using a Pilot and finally decided to get one, thinking if I did not use it or like I could sell it. Well I have had it for several weeks now and I have to tell you it is great. It has simplified my hectic schedule and given me information I needed when I need it.

I work as a consultant and have to balance client schedules with my family schedule. By having my calendar in my pocket it is a great convience. I also have business and client phone numbers in my pilot which also helps.

No more looking in this book or that book it is all in one place.

I also use the Pilot to sync with my Loptop calendar software. Now no matter where I am at least my calendar and phone book are in order.

Summary: Durability comment
Review: After having my Palm IIIx only 2 days, I accidently dropped it from a height of approx 3 feet and watched in horror as it bounced around on the concrete driveway, the stylus and cover richocheting in different directions. No cracks, scratches or other identifiable damage!
