Summary: My favorite Palm OS PDA so far!
Review: I've had several pda's in the past- a Palm IIIe, IIIxe, Visor Deluxe, Visor Prism, and Clie N610C. This is by far the best one I've ever owned. With every PDA you take the good with the bad, and I have to say, this one has more good points than bad ones. I really enjoy the screen- it's definitely sharper and brighter than the 610 screen, with blacker blacks and whiter whites, which makes reading e-books easier on the eyes. The digitizer is much more sensitive, meaning I don't have press so hard on the screen, which I also like. The T615 also seems to run faster than my N610, and so far, after a week, doesn't seem to suffer from the dreaded dust problem that plagued the N series (I have a LOT of dust under the screen of my N610). I'm also enjoying the remote commander software (works great, just wish it was programmable) and the form factor is just perfect- it's a joy to hold! The only negatives I've encountered so far are the battery life- it definitely doesn't hold out as long as the N series, and the rocker switch is too small and awkward to use, but I end up using the job dial so much anyway that I hardly notice. Except for the rocker switch, I have no problems using the buttons for games. I actually prefer them (except for the rocker) to the buttons on the N series. All in all, I'd highly recommend the T615C to anyone!

Summary: SONY CLIE PEG-T415
Review: After returning the fourth defective Palm PEO, I turned to a company with a reputation for excellence. I was not disappointed with the PEG-T415. You can immediately tell the superior quality of the product. It is easy to use and probably has more features than I will ever use. I think the screen quality is excellent, but you need to tilt it so that the light falls on the screen. I really do not have any critical comments about the T415. This product gives you the best value for a PEO in the $... range.

Summary: Brilliant screen image and fast processor!
Review: February rolls around again, and it is time to buy my wife a birthday present. This year it was the Sony Clie T615CS. When I got it in the mail, my first impression was that it blew the doors off of my Handspring Visor Deluxe. The real test however, was the reaction that my wife would have.

She's had it now for about two weeks and she loves it. She's never had a PDA before, and has taken to it very well. Sony has bundled with it a few of its own products to make using it easier for the inexperienced handheld user. All of the software comes bundled in one CD which makes installation a breeze. In just two weeks she has thown out her day planner is uses only the Clie.

Before giving the Clie to my wife, I installed:
- Several long books...
- Dozens of pictures
- Dozens of addresses and schedules
And she still had over 8 MB of RAM free. This is more RAM than some PDAs have in total.

I was also surprised with how fast the Clie was. It outperformed my Visor on every application we tested. Finally, the best things about the Clie T615CS are the brilliant colors and high resolution(320X320). No more grey scale and that means no more eye strain for Clie users. Wow, the screen resolution and color brightness easily rival the best Journada. For the price, I think that this is the best color PDA available today.

Summary: Top of the top
Review: Bar none, this is the best Color Palm OS PDA out there right now. There is simply no comparison as no other device has this set of features. Beautiful hi-res screen, don't believe one previous poster about this screen not being better than the 610. I had the 610 originally, and traded it in for this one. The screen on the T615C is the best I've ever seen. Smooth, clear text, and even with the brightness on MINIMUM, it is still more than adequate.

Battery life leaves a little something to be desired, but not much. I figure to get about 3-4 days use before I need to charge (using about 30 minutes to 1 hour accum time a day).

In any case, the 16 MB is a HUGE plus and didn't originally think it would make that big of a difference but it has. Do NOT settle for a handheld with 8 MB anymore.

All in all, like I said. EXCELLENT device. Can't wait for the next round of Sony devices in the fall.

Summary: Unbelievable
Review: Have had Visor Edge and Palm 505. NO comparison. Love the Hi Def screen. Jog dial make life easier and it looks the coolest.

Summary: This is a GREAT Palm device
Review: I owned the Clie 610 and upgraded to the 615 because of the new form factor. This handheld has the best display, period--320x320. The migration from the old Palm to the new was effortless, but you do have to know how to do it. The only downsides are 1) no native Mac support and 2) USB only, so if you're running either Win95 or NT you're out of luck.

One other observation is that the screen and writing surface seem more prone to scratches than the Palm family, but that statement is based strictly on anecdotal evidence.

Other than those points, this is one sexy device.

Summary: I'm happy I bought it
Review: I had a Palm that I used for a long time but the advance notice of the Clie caught my interest. I wanted a color device that had a sturdier case (metal vs. plastic) and had a smaller profile. I did a lot of research on the various models of Palms and Pocket PCs and I decided on this. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and have only minor concerns :
I wish the stylus was easier to pop out.
The battery meter does seem to visibly diminish before your eyes.
I don't know why I would want the remote control app.
The leather cover seems to be a gratuitous response to providing a real cover.
Others have told me that the memory stick latch is very delicate.
In any case, so far I feel I made the right purchase.

Summary: Great PDA
Review: I've researched many Palm OS PDA's and finally purchased this model. So far, it's been great. High resolution makes it ideal for anyone who wants to view pics on their pda.

Summary: Don't make my mistake!
Review: It looks good, but what a lot of problems I have had switching from my very good Palm Vx! I wanted a colour screen and a common platform with my sony camcorder, sony vaio laptop, etc... Reality however was somewhat different..................

1. Transfering your existing database of names, adresses etc. requires exporting files out of palm desktop, saving, deleting then reinstaling desktop and importing files. Sounds easy once you know what you are doing, but you show me where this is explained easily and concisely in the support literature.

2. To my amazement Sony Clie T series cradles(and probably other series)only come with USB connectors. If you use an NT platform at work, USB connectors won't work and there are no adaptors. Tell me where the supporting literature explains this one in a clear and concise manner. (Sony presumably isn't particularly concerned about the corporate market or they would have addressed this shortcoming - Palm pilot's sell USB/serial adaptors
)
3. Sony customer support are polite but not particularly useful in helping you get to the bottom of all this. By the way see how long it takes you to find the support line number on their web site.

SO THINK TWICE FOLKS - SWITCHING IS A HASSLE and I have certainly wasted my time and money - oh and it has a tendancy to crash when playing games. I wish I had stuck to a palm pilot, I was seduced by the thought of a shared platform between my camcorder, vaio laptop and a clie. It's harder than you might think!

Summary: product beats palm; service lags behind
Review: Have owned a Palm V, Vx, and m505; the 505 died and replaced it with a Clie due to smaller size, brighter screen.
For size and features, the Clie is the obvious winner--I would reccommend it to any savvy PDA user (an aside: Data migration from an old to new Palm OS based system is a cinch)
For a neophyte PDA user...I'd buy a Palm. Their service/support wins hands down, with fast and usable information. Sony support is slow to nonexistent (didn't respond twice), and their info was often incomplete or missed the mark completely.
