Summary: Good product for the money
Review: The IIIe is a very good product for the money. It has an address book, date book, memo pad, expense book and much more. It is very easy to syncronize with the PC, and the handwritting recognition is exellent. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs an electronic organizer at a good price.

Summary: currently THE BEST Palm you can get
Review: the Palm IIIe is a good entry-level hand-held, with some nice features. However, contrary to most other reviews, I find that my Palm drains batteries extremely quickly, allowing for only a couple hours use. Despite this, I still love my palm, and it is far superior to pencil and paper.

Summary: Great buy!
Review: The Palm IIIe is definitely a great buy- I'm in 7th grade, and I keep all my homework assignments for the day in there. It's lightweight and very user friendly- the graffiti language is easy to get used to, but you don't even have to use it. You can use the little on screen keyboard function. It's much easier than pen and paper- it comes with a To Do List, Calculator, Memo Pad, Address Book, and more. Plus, you can download tons of software on it. It doesn't have as much memory as the newer Palm versions, but it should have plenty. It has a backlight, and the product doesn't drain the batteries quickly. The display is excellent. For the price, I would highly recommend this product.

Summary: Ideal for late adopters
Review: The Palm IIIe will not offer you the same functionality of the more advanced wireless versions. Nor will it match the Pocket PC offerings . However, if you primarily plan to use the Palm as an address book and task manager then you will be very satisfied with performance. This makes it an ideal substitute for the address/planner book, and ideal for nervous late adopters of technology (e.g. my mother). It becomes especially useful when you load up the software that allows you to sync data on the Palm with Microsoft Outlook (assuming you use that program).

Summary: True Greatness
Review: Unlike people who were "already happy" with their bulky organizers before purchasing this product, I had been wanting a Palm for quite some time. Therefore, the expectation bar was raised.

Now that I have the product, the bar was met! Some questions you may have about Palms:

1. How do I enter data? One of three easy ways: with a small pen which you use to write directly into the Palm Pilot; with a pop-up keyboard; or you can enter information on your computer and download it onto your Palm Pilot.

2. Is it hard to learn? The thing I found most amazing about this is how easy you can learn it. Usually something as robust as this product has a high-learning curve. However, that is not the case here.

3. Can you play games on it? Hey admit it, we all thought it was pretty cool when we found out we can play games on it. I have about 12 games on mine (and it takes up hardly any space at all). Now all those boring lines at the bank, airports, and sitting in doctor office waiting rooms are but a memory. ;-)

4.This one is cheaper than the others, should I buy an expensive one? That is up to you. I personally don't need to store 1,500 appointments, 6000 phone numbers, etc. I'm just a guy who likes to have things organized. This product does that and lots more. I think that one of the top-dollar ones would be overkill (at least for me it would).

5. What's the coolest thing about the product? I personally like the fact that there are literally hundreds of thousands of *FREE* programs that you can download onto the Palm Pilot.

If you are the type of person who likes to control his or her scene, I strongly urge you to purchase this product.

Summary: A good machine -- but not the full thing
Review: Well, I have been using this Palm IIIe since October 1999, and I must say I have been pleased with the basic functions and the availability of software applications for it. My only qualm with this Palm is the lack of some of the conduit software to connect to desktop applications and the lack of upgradability. I wasn't aware that it wasn't upgradable until I desired to upgrade, but otherwise it is a very good machine and I suppose it will last me another year or so before I buy whatever is out there ;)

And it's inexpensive too -- a big plus, but prices are dropping like rocks everywhere else too :P

Summary: Fragile? I DON'T THINK SO!
Review: WOW! What a product after having this product for about 4 months I fell in love. I downloaded Avantgo and was reading palmpower magazine, and kirplunk, it fell in the sink. (I was reading in the bathroom) I quickly dried it off and I dried the inside. I was scared, after I was done I turned it on and.....................IT RAN! Boy what a product I love it!
