Summary: Clie PegNR70V= The Best
Review: The best palm out right is the CLIE!! Why, well since I'm only 12 I thought it was the best basically because of its flip and rotate design. When I saw this on the internet, I had to get it right away cause of the following: the built in camera for taking pictures, the MP3 player that also plays Atrac format songs, four ways to write on it, the color silver, and most of all it's a Sony. Some of the few problems are that the keyboard is a bit too small, the clock is always slow two or three minutes, there's only really about 10 megabytes worth of memory since the programming that the factory programmed takes about 5m. So it is a great buy if you're in college, high school, and maybe middle school if you're super careful.

Summary: QUALITY-VERSUS-PRICE
Review: The keypad and clamshell design of this Multimedia PDA from SONY evokes the semblance of a micro-laptop. The machine's wide range of features include: a good built-in digital camera, a 66MHz Dragonball processor, 16MB RAM, 8MB ROM, 3.8" TFT Display,Irda, and an adaptor-embedded USB Docking Cradle.
Both the Display panel and the swivel-mount which houses the digital camera can be turned to a very wide angle, (upto 270 degrees). As you turn it, the image adjusts automatically so as to yield the best possible screen-view. The listed 320 by 480 pixels Display resolution may seem generous, but in reality, 320 by 320 is all that may be at your disposal (at any given time). This is because the PDA's Palm OS 4.1 allows the virtual Graffiti pad to utilize the remainder.
I was disappointed to find out that there is no way images from the digital camera can be transferred directly into my PC's hard-disk. Users must first of all move them into the Memory Stick before passing them onto the hard-drive. Another sad thing is that my fully charged battery asks for a recharge just after six days of normal use, which is a far cry from the ten days SONY quoted.
In conclusion, I will say that this "SONY CLIE PEG-NR70V" is a good PDA. It has a vareity of features. But, I was disappointed that some of the claims SONY made concerning it were false. Having seen both the assets and the liabilities of this PDA, I just felt that I paid a little too much for it. More often than not, SONY produces good items, but they seem to always price them out of proportion.

Summary: Sony Clie PEG-NR70v Plus and Minus
Review: The new peg-nr70v is an excellent machine. While this review lists the plus and minus features to help you make your choice overall I rate this device as the top PDA I've owned.

Pro
1) Beautiful Screen. The best on the market
2) The dropping of the silkscreen area for a software replacement is an excellent design (Sony did not lead the way here however) and smacks of many future possibilities.
3) The software graffiti area allows for instant feedback of text entry mistakes.
4) The magnesium case is rugged and attractive. It will scratch though.
5) The clamshell design is a breakthrough. Anyone who has a PDA needs some kind of case or cover. In my experience these things are always a pain. No longer.
6) The camera and mp3 player are nice additions and send a clear message about sony's business model.
7) The keyboard works but I am faster with graffiti.
8) The rechargeable battery has excellent life. I recharge it every three or four days even though the indicator still shows full.

Cons
1) The traditional hardkeys (date, phone, task, note) are really badly placed. With the screen rotated you cannot get to them at all. It would have been "easy" to incorporate these buttons as soft keys in the new graffiti area (or just below). This is my biggest negative.

2)The pen is too skinny. This is the skinniest pda pen going and it can get tiring to hold it.

3) The return button on the side of the device is tiny and difficult to depress. Sony got it right in earlier Clie models I don't know what happened here.

Wishlist: loose the keyboard and add wireless email. I just don't use the keyboard enough and the additional space provided by its absence is more than enough for Sony to add additional small miracles.

Summary: Too big, too power hungry
Review: This bulky, pricy Palm-compatible model from Sony features a built-in thumb keyboard as well as a built-in camera. Neither feature is impressive. The keyboard is hard to get used to -- it feels unresponsive and stiff compared to the excellent RIM Blackberry's keyboard, and the camera would probably give you 2 hours of fun before it hits you that you'll probably never use it again, esp. since this is not a wireless unit where you can e-mail pictures to friends. The weight is tremendous, although it does come with decent multimedia functions such as MP3. But then again, for this price, you could get a very good Pocket PC with better video and audio functions as well as much, much more memory. I just don't think this Clie is worth the price.

Summary: Don't let the price tag cloud your mind
Review: This Clie NR70V, which I bought, is cleverly designed in every way. Ask your friend who has it to show you and you will know what I mean. Be prepared, the screen alone just makes other PDAs look like a dying star. Functionwise, just superb!!

Summary: A True Masterpiece
Review: This is a true PDA masterpiece! I'm not a believer in all-in-one device, but this Clie converts me. The look, the touch, the feel (not to mention the usefulness) of this piece will seduce you. The emotional impact is huge. Sony, thanks for giving us one of the first true 21st century devices.

Summary: Engineering TOPS, software MEDIOCRE!
Review: This is my fourth PDA and my second Sony. I openly admit that I am a Sony believer. Their products have never really disappointed me. The same is true for the PEG-NR70V ... boy, why do they not come up with a nice NAME? The product and the engineering is very good and much better than any other PDA I know. I am sure that many disagree already here. It is very usefull and really only misses the integrated phone. But I link it with my GSM phone through infrared and that worked in just a few minutes. The dialup and usage for mail is painless, the scripting and text typing is fairly good. The audio and video is cool, but really a toy and more like your own personal photo album. What really does not work well is the syncronisation with the PC except for the date book and the address book. Mail - FORGET IT! Eudora works fairly ok, but not the others. Use it as a direct mail POP3 client and it is fine. Another grain of salt is that it can not view the JPGs or MPGs from my Sony digital cameras directly - again this is a software issue. It is a very expensive device and like most of those it makes no sense to try to justify the cost. Either you like these toys and can afford them or you better leave it.

Summary: The Ultimate PDA
Review: This is the nicest handheld device ever. The screen is beautiful, with high resolution. Very easy to see. Not only that, the Sony Clie is so light you can fit one in your pocket! The digital camera is an excellent additional, and provides fun for everyone. This is sure to catch peoples attention.
This can help you organize your life to with the calendar! When you see this, you'll fall in love with it!

Summary: This PDA Rocks!
Review: This PDA kicks [rear]! I've been waiting for about a year to replace my Palm V and saw this model at a party and had to have it. Sony has sone a great job coming up with ways to make the platform better that I would never have thought of. Example: when you write on the grafitti area, the Clie traces your stroke, to show you briefly what you've written, so that if you're consistantly writing a letter wrong, you'll see why. Don't like grafitti? No problem. The integrated keyboard is as easy to use as a blackberry or any of the small attachable keyboards currently available. The screen is bright and sharp, the mp3 sound is as good as my mp3 player, and the photo and video is sharp as well. The third-party software is easy to install fun, and easy to use as well. It uses the same Palm desktop as my old PalmV and so I was able to transfer all my old data with no sweat.
The memory stick works just like an external drive when the unit is in its cradle, so it's a snap to transfer files, music, pictures back and forth from my PC. You don't even have to hotsync.
The camera is actually useful, although it has no flash or adjustable shutter.
If I have any complaints it's that it doesn't go as long on a single charge as my Palm did, but then, my old Palm didn't have an MP3 player and camera running down the battery, and, to be really petty, the stylus is very thin and not as comfortable to hold as the Palm's. I'm not usually one to jump on the first new technology as soon as it hits, but this is just too cool not to have.

Summary: Poor support and no address labels
Review: Very nice package but the Sony Clie Palm OS package is very "lite" as they put it. It no longer has the drag and drop feature for address labels and cannot be upgraded to the OS upgrades on the Palm website. The email support is abysmal. I could not be more disappointed with the overall product and support.
