Rating: Summary: MP3's sound great on BLUE memory stick Review: This is a great PDA, color screen on the 665 is more vibrant than the 615 that I traded up from. From Mac or PC, simply copy MP3 files to MSAUDIO directory of a BLUE memory stick. Used cheaper Lexar brand works fine... <Contrary to what someone else posted, WHITE memory stick not needed except for ATRAC proprietary music format>. MP3's sound great, better than on Rio MP3 player. Also, sound from included Sony headphones w/attached volume control have good frequency response, bass and treble. If you are expecting to just pop your memory stick in from your Cybershot digicam, not as seamless, each 2MB pix takes a few seconds to refresh when viewing in PG Pocket, due to file size (smaller the better for Clie). If you want fast viewing you need to convert the DCF file to a PGP file. This may not be a problem with newer 200mhz strongarm Clie, but significant speed improvement in 665 vs. 615 which was pretty s-l-o-w. Also, Palm desktop works with Mac OS X with the Clie, works great. Lastly a few cool shareware programs to get... Palm Acrobat reader, AcidImage, Handyshopper,Kinoma player Have fun with your new Clie, get one!
Rating: Summary: Sony Clie Review: This handheld is GREAT!! I've tried out other handhelds like the Palm m515, and they didnt even begin to compare to all the great things that Sony had to offer. This one has THE BEST (in my oppinion) graphics and software out there!! The hold button on the side isnt one of their better ideas, but it has a better processor (66 mhz) than palm (33mhz.)
Rating: Summary: Sony Clie T-665C Wonderful Product - Minus the memory stick Review: I had a Palm Vx and I will never go back. You cannot beat the color and picture quality of a Clie. The sound on it is awesome. The only thing is, you need to make sure that if you buy a Memory Stick (highly recommended) you need to get the WHITE one that is "Magic Gate" compatiable in order to listen to most music through your Clie (I didn't find this out until spending 2 hours trying to figure out why my mp3s and cds would not load onto my Clie. Sony mentions the difference betwen the purple and white memory stick in the beginning of the Clie instruction book). I have only been able to find the white memory stick on-line so if you are thinking of buying one save yourself the hassel of going to an electronics store and just buy it here at Amazon[com].
Rating: Summary: If it weren't for the buttons.... Review: This is a good replacement for a Palm III-handheld, especially for those who don't like the cute little formfactors of the m5xx/m1xx (not to mention the smaller screen on m1xx models). But Sony really dropped the ball on the buttons. They're just little rectangular bumps! I had a hard time pushing them at the right angle to register. Other than that it's a great pda for anyone who doesn't want the insane features of a Clie NX.

Rating: Summary: Pleasantly surprised Review: I had an old Palm IIIx and couldn't bring myself to upgrade. It was the colour screen that finally got me interested in the Clie, and I must say that it has not disappointed me.The software bundle is quite good and Documents-To-Go is a huge bonus apart from the Sony specific software. The screen is amazingly crisp even at the lowest brightness and unlike most others I haven't had too much of an issue with the battery time. I am not a huge fan of the Jog dial, however thats likely to be because I don't use it too much. All in all a highly recommended buy (I would never dream of going grayscale again!)
Rating: Summary: great, but one caveat Review: I used a palm vx for about four years before upgrading to this sony. I first bought a toshiba e310 though to try out pocket pc. It was pretty, lots of features, and cheaper, but a few things were off. There handwriting recognition was good, but too sensitive, and too many steps to input a todo or an appointment. So, I went with this sony cause I wanted color and mp3 playing. So far, I love this thing. It is pretty, my photos appear beautifully on its screen. The battery hasn't been too bad for me. I might not use it as much as others, but I think i am normal and it lasts about four days. (but I haven't been playing mp3s) One thing to watch out for is that you need to buy a sony magic gate memory stick to play mp3s. I have a sandisk one which was significantly cheaper, and it won't play mp3s off of it. It will do everything else, but that. So, great display, great design, useful jog dial, but need to buy sony memory stick (needs to be magic gate)
Rating: Summary: A Great PDA Review: I have finally found PDA bliss. I have used a Palm xe, Palm iiic and now the Sony Clie T665. This unit is fast, good looking, and does what it should. The character recognition is much better that what I have been use to. The display resolution is simply great. I have loaded it with some of my favorite mp3 files and actually use it for listening (you need to buy a MemoryStick). I agree with some of the other reviews about the quick battery drain. But I'm at my desk most days and have purchased a charger for use in my car (not too expensive but a great life saver). The price is right at this date because the high price Palm OS5 units are coming out (too expensive for what I need). For any new PDA I immediately buy three accessories: case, screen protectors, and car charger. If you want a good solid PDA, this is a great unit.
Rating: Summary: Good alternative to Palm m515 Review: Great looking screen, and full of options. But you need to be aware of the following: 1. buy a memory card, especially if you want to listen to mp3's, etc., and fully use all of what if has to offer. 2. Battery life is horrible, you need to charge every day. 3. The screen is somewhat fragile. Unfortunately I dropped it, and part of the screen is black. It is still useable, so I am not sure to send to Sony to have it fixed yet. (I dropped my old Palm Vx a few times, it never broke or anything). If you like to have the latest gadget, and not miss out on what owners of HP Jornadas or Compaqs have, definitely get a Sony Clie that operates on the proven Palm platform.
Rating: Summary: Horrible Customer Service Review: I won't post the entire horror story here. Suffice it to say that the Clie I bought was defective. I returned it to Sony for service and after more than a month and a half the end is nowhere in site. Every time I call Sony they reply "another week to 10 days". They have been telling me that for over a month now. I have read similar complaints about Clies on this very website - but amazingly, all of thoese posts appear to have been removed! This product does have a very nice display. But battery live is abysmal. You will have to charge it daily. I could even accept that, but a product is only as good as the support behind it, and Sony has the worst support in the business (Palm will replace your unit immediately, as will Handspring). So unless you are feeling pretty lucky, I would avoid this one. Another thing you should know about this product is that you have to completely remove all traces of Palm software before the Sony software will install correctly. This means that when your Clie does go south, you can't just start using your old Palm as a backup until (if and when) the Sony comes back. You have to go through a complicated series of steps for removal, reboot, remove some more, reboot again, install, tweak, adjust, etc. each time you switch devices. If you stick w/ your Palm, the old and the new will synch to the same destop - no reinstallations required. With Palm, you can even keep both your old and new units current on the same PC. I really wish I had stuck w/ Palm.
