Rating: Summary: can't believe how it has changed my life Review: I received a Palm III as a gift from my wife a few months ago, and now I cannot live without it. It synchronizes with Outlook'98, which I use for my calendar, contacts and tasks, on my PC. I can review my schedule, update it, and make notes without booting up my laptop! With add-on software from Avant it downloads web pages from The Wall Street Journal, CNET, and any other site you want.
Rating: Summary: HOW? HOW? HOW? Review: How could I lived all those years without a Palm Pilot? HOW? That's the question. My life changed 3 months ago when I received my Palm Pilot III. Still asking my self all day long: HOW? ...and, if you buy a keyboard, even an used Newton PDA keyboard and attach it to your Pilot, you will ask yourself more times a day: HOW? HOW? HOW?
Rating: Summary: Replaced my Franklin Planner Review: After 10 years of using my Franklin Planner, the thought of replacing it caused beads of sweat to form on my brow. I was conviced to try the Palm III but I kept the reciept knowing that I had 30 days to return it and go back to my tried and true. Well, after 20 days, the receipt had been tossed and I am hooked. This is the greatest little planning tool that I have ever had. I can't see myself using anything else. All those 10 years of planners will just have to collect dust.
Rating: Summary: All is very good, but,........... Review: I bought the Palm III when it came out. Personally I can't live without it anymore. I know it sounds corny, but this little device simplifies the life of all that need instant access to data, schedules and more. In stead of a hauling heavy gear (laptop)around, I nowadays just attend a meeting with my Palm III. Graffiti (handwriting recognition) is very good and quick. There are some points that are slightly on the lesser side of things: syncronising and batery life. Sometimes the synchronising is not too straight forward, one has to run this several times to get it all in line...... this eats battery life away. My overall feeling is that this device is a suberb piece of engineering even with the smaller flaws. But that is a small price for the gain one gets. Freddy Sjauw-En-Wa Maidenhead, UK
Rating: Summary: IT STINKS!!!!!!!!! Review: After having purchased FIVE palm III's and after throwing out all of them due to mechanical and electronical failure, I would like to say that this certain piece of plastic is nothing but plastic rubbish. Conterary to what the company and other reviewers might say, I think that no one should purchase this item. Spend your money on something that actually works and don't make the mistake that I made of buying five of these exuces for equiptment. PLEASE!
Rating: Summary: Great Palm computer/PDA Review: While everyone else writes about the wonderful uses they get out of their palm, I'll just say a little about Palm Computing's support. As with everyone else, I take my Palm III everywhere I go. It takes quite a beating without flinching, but somehow, while at a sleep-over party, I accidentally stepped on my Palm III, and cracked the screen. well.. even though the screen was cracked, the device still worked!, although not extremely well, as the touch sensitive screen was partially damaged, but I managed to retrieve the tech support number for Palm. I figured I was going to have to shell out another 300 dollars, but, I called up their tech support line, and they even had a menu item that specified cracked screens, which got me to a real person. well, after explaining, he said that he could send out a replacement unit for only $100, which amazed me (goes to show what the actual cost of a palm III is). Well, for the $100, they ship out the unit to you, you just take off the cover, and the stylus to your old device, and put it right back into the box they sent to you, and they even include a slip for the return shipping!, so, it's just a matter of going to the shipper (Airborne Express), picking up your package, taking out the replacement unit, putting your old Palm III in, writing your RMA number on the box, and sending it out again, with the shipper slip they included in the box!.. so simple! and, it turned out that the replacement device they shipped me happened to be defective itself (consumes batteries wicked fast - a few hours) so they are shipping out another replacement - at their expense. I'm just quite happy with their service to the customers. Easy to follow voice menus, very nice tech support personnel, and a great method of shipping replacement units.
Rating: Summary: Palm Pilot Revolution Review: This is my Christmas story about the Palm Pilot. I was shopping at my local computer store for a new cell phone and was warmly greeted by a sophisticated and friendly sales clerk. My instincts were calling out to me and saying, this gentleman has to be a retired engineer. He quickly answered every question I had regarding his cell phone services. He commented on the proud feeling he had regarding his company. Seeing that he was well informed and very computer literate, I went on to ask him about his background. He was in fact a retired computer scientist. He had helped design the current computer stock trading system for the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange). I went on and curiously asked him if he knew of a good palm top computer. Guess what? He pulled out of his front pants pocket a Palm Top and proudly held it in front of me. I asked him if he liked it. He said that he could not live without it. I proceeded to test out the new Palm PilotIII for myself. It is terrific. It has all the features I want: modem, email, web page storage, cheap batteries( AA batteries), downloading capabilities from my home computer and good value for the dollar. It also incorporates a vast array of persoal and career planning products form Franklin Covey. I recommend it highly! C. LeMaire
Rating: Summary: Nice product, great review information Review: I really like my Palm III. I decided to buy it when I read about it in PalmPower Magazine. They had a great, detailed review of both hardware and software. I most like the added memory.
Rating: Summary: A must have for the "road warrior" Review: After a Toshiba laptop, an HP 620lx handheld, this is the only PDA that goes everywhere. With literally thousands of applications, I quit taking a day planner with me on trips. Especially useful is the "find" function if I lose track of data. Check out the games, i.e. klondike and emerald quest. Also link to a GPS and use mapping software. Great investment.....Be wary of CE devices that hog batteries
Rating: Summary: Muy buen producto Review: Excelente PDA.
