Summary: Exelent for the price but out of date.
Review: This is an exelent PDA for the price, but the processor is a little slow which makes writing in the note pad difficult - also durring the morning and evening when the sun is rising or setting the screen can be very difficult to read. But as my first PDA I love it, although I would reccomend getting a newer model over this one.

Summary: Broken :-(
Review: This thing broke 2 weeks after my warranty expired. Interesting, isn't it? Their support 'attempts' to be good, but good support doesn't go far when they fail to resolve problems. Aside from their decent, yet increasingly out-of-date Palm OS, their hardware is a piece of junk. Don't buy Palm products. They were once the Kings of PDA's but that title just doesn't seem to fit anymore.

Summary: Going back to paper
Review: I bought the Palm m105 back in September of 2002 in order to replace my bulky, heavy Franklin day planner. Specifically, I wanted to use the Palm to keep track of address information, appointments, important recurring dates, passwords, membership numbers, and various notes.

At first I was very pleased. I entered the information into Palm's PC application, which was far easier than using Graffiti. The reminders were useful, and the address book came in very handy. I purchased a padded Body Glove neoprene case to keep my m105 safe.

My problems started one day as I sat at the airport waiting to catch a flight to England. I was bored, and was playing the included Solitaire game on the Palm. After 10 minutes of play, the Palm completely locked up. Not even the POWER button worked. This was a very bad thing, because all my flight information and reservations were stored on the Palm.

In order to turn the Palm off so as to preserve the batteries, I had to pop out one of the batteries briefly, then plug it back in before it lost all data.

When I arrived at my destination, I performed a hard reboot, which, luckily, preserved my data. Within 2 days, however, the Palm managed to burn completely through the batteries, and I had to hurriedly replace them.

Since then, the Palm has CONSISTENTLY burned through batteries at a phenomenal rate, usually while it's just sitting on my desk. This causes regular data loss, which means I have to re-sync constantly.

Constant re-syncs were okay until the day the HotSync cradle stopped talking to my PC, and I was unable to restore this link despite 2 complete Palm software reinstalls and a Windows registry cleaning.

I utterly LOATHE this handheld, and I would NEVER recommend it to ANYONE. Despite having worked as a software engineer for the past 9 years and liking the "latest and greatest" tech toys, I firmly believe that this handheld (and, by extension, ALL handhelds) are overpriced toys that add unneeded complexity to tasks that ought to be simple, like keeping track of your schedule.

I'm going back to paper & pencil. Much less risk of software lockups, and I'm tired of supporting Duracell.

Summary: I love my Palm
Review: I have only owned one for two months, but I don't know how I ever got along without one. No need to carry a notebook, address book, appointment book, or even a calculator. This has it all and much, much more.

So small, yet so powerful and easy to use. It comes with everything you need, no extra equipment to buy. It interfaces with your computer and is easily backed up, so you never can lose your data. It fits right into your pocket or purse, or attached to your belt.

Software is as numerous as for your pc, with many of them being free or for a small cost. There are tons of websites that have sofware available for it. It is so easy to import too. Just put the files in your add-on folder, click on the files you want to install, and Palm will automatically copy them when you do an update, which is done by pushing a button when the device is in its docking cradle.

The unit also has a backlight so it can be viewed in just about any kind of light. Although the screen is small, it is still very clear.

If you like your life organized, I recommend this product, or similar type products.

Summary: An OK orgainzer
Review: This is just an OK organizer. I bought it for my 14 year old and he is happy with it.

Summary: Nice Entry Level PDA
Review: Great unit for moms to organize calendars, to do lists, make notes and keep track of important phone #'s and addresses. I home school a 10 year old, drive carpool for two 12 year olds, coach kids athletics, etc and this is so much better than a bunch of sticky notes all over the place. The unit easily "synchs" with my Yahoo! email address book and calendar (after you download Intellisynch from Yahoo!). I bought this unit for a low price, less a rebate so that makes it an exceptional value to me. The Palm m105 starts quickly and effeciently, and is extremely user-friendly to those less "technically inclined".

Summary: Poor quality control.
Review: The m105 Palm Handheld seems to be known for its poor quality control. I bought this for an entry level list maker. I did not mind the poor resolution, or the dark screen. However I cannot make the screen sync with the program. The store were I bought this had three others with the same problem. ...

Summary: Basically Basic
Review: As a grad student, price was one of my primary concerns in selecting a palm pilot to use to keep track of my calander, contacts and to do lists...which is what lead me to the m105. And for just that, it's fine....just fine. The features it comes with are very easy to use, it's incredibly simple to link to a PC - espically outlook, and even getting used to writing with grafitti wasn't too difficult. Now that i'm used to it however, I see the huge potential a PDA has - and finally understand why people by them for hundreds of dollars! I'd like to upgrade this to one with color, with more memory and with additional software. For what i was looking for - an electronic date & address book, this is great...but for much beyond that it's lacking.

Summary: Palm M105 Muy buena

Summary: Unstable
Review: Have had my palm for less than a year and I'm shopping for a new one (Sony this time). Started with it not responding to the stylus, then false "battery low" messages even with new batteries. Unpredictable piece of equipment that's more trouble than it's worth.
