Summary: Don't waste your money
Review: I bought a m105 in June 2003. It worked fine for a few months, then I started to lose all my data during battery replacement. Now, it takes me 30 minutes and half my battery power to hotsync after battery changes. There should be a recall from Palm but they are not "man" enough to deal with this problem. If you call them they will charge you $75 to fix this problem.

Summary: It's a good starter PDA...
Review: I've had my m105 for two years before experiencing loss of data, which is a result of an internal capacitor not holding a charge on the motherboard. So why the five stars then? Because it's a GREAT starter PDA.

It served my initial purpose--which was eliminate lugging around my bulky Franklin planner. From there, I kept track of various budgets, i.e., weekly expenses and saving for vacations, as well as tracked time I spent writing. I even *wrote* chunks of various novels-in-progress on the m105 with folding keyboard (keyboard sold separately.) I also enjoyed ebooks, which I wasn't interested in reading pre-PDA because I didn't want to read the books at my computer or waste paper printing them out.

If you're looking for a great starter PDA, or if you're aren't too sure about whether or not a PDA would be of use to you, I HIGHLY recommend the m105. Even the battery situation isn't a problem: I've used rechargeable AAA batteries for my entire two years of use.

Summary: Do NOT Buy a Palm Product... Palm m105 is Junk
Review: After two weeks of use the Graffiti feature no longer works and the pen will not align with the screen icons. Customer support is worthless and when I asked to speak with a manager my support rep said that he was in a meeting. No doubt. I will look for a different brand.

Summary: A good workhorse PDA
Review: First of all let me say that I have really enjoyed using the m105. The 8 megs of memory make it a tad slow but sufficient for my needs which is for a PDA. For the price it was hard to go wrong. I work in an environment where I cannot carry cameras or recorders or video or mp3 etc. so a basic PDA is not only all I need but all I am allowed to have. Personally, I have found the data entry system using the Graffiti writing area to be intuitive and easy to use unlike some other users. The main complaint I have is that after exactly one year of use it started hanging sometimes during the day. I can reset it at home but it is useless at work after it hangs. This is unacceptable as I use it extensively. Second, I do wish it had access to the expense report feature without upgrading the software for [money amount]. Finally, 16 megs of memory would be great just for enhanced speed. I also hope Palm and the other vendors will continue to provide some basic PDAs like the m105. Not everybody has a need for bluetooth and internet connectivity and for some it may be verboten. I can take or leave the color screen but if a color screen is going to reduce the life of the battery as much as it evidently does then they can keep it.

Summary: Couldn't Live without My Palm
Review: I have used a Palm 105 since they first came out and can't imagine life without it. I travel some, so I really like having only to replace 2 AAA batteries every 4 to 6 weeks (even w/ heavy use) instead of lugging around & keeping track of a cradle. The monochrome screen is fine, since for what most people use their PDA, the addition of color is just "mind candy" and shortens battery life by over 75%. The ease of use & syncing with a desktop or notebook is quite surprising. And the ability to keep separate multiple PDA's on the same computer boggles the mind. I have just about worn out my fourth Palm and am starting to look for a replacement. I hope Palm does not neglect the basic monochrome, not-wireless connected, AAA-cell powered handhelds. Even people that buy the fancier color, wireless connected models with built-in hydride features, and only batteries rarely make use of the additional curdse the shgort battery life if they are a heavy user of the PDA.

Summary: M105-many problems
Review: I have had many problems with the pda from Palm. The first problem was when I changed batteries; you are supposed to have one minute before you lose data. I had the batteries changed in less than 20 seconds and lost everything. Unfortunately, I had no backup as I had just purchased a new computer and the old one was sold. The other problems were the date; it would not keep the present date. It kept going back to Jan 2000. Also, it was hard to type on as the letters were not the ones that I struck. I am not happy with this product.
