Rating: Summary: IT'S SCARY Review: how much this little doo-dad has changed my life. She can change yours, too.
Rating: Summary: Great PDA... I love it Review: I've had the Palm Professional for quite a long time until I gave it to my nephew. Finally I felt the need to upgrade and I was stuck on whether I would get the Palm IIIx, Palm V or wait for the Palm VII. I compared the Palm IIIx and V in a store... no contest... the Palm V looks absolutely beautiful. But the Palm V only has 2mb of memory. Do I really need 4mb of the Palm IIIx? Also, do I really need internet access on the road with the Palm VII? That was my dilemna. Do I really want the V because of the size and looks? I gave in and bought the Palm V and I didn't regret it. It's so light and small that I can put it in my pocket. The feel of carrying this device is great..with the anodized aluminum.. it's cold too the touch. I also like the rechargeable lithium ion batteries because it works with my lifestyle. It may not be enough if you're gone for a month in the mountains, then the other Palms which uses the AAA batteries will work for you. As long as you have electricity though, you can get the Travel Kit and you're all set. Also, there is hope beyond the 2mb limit of memory. If you ever run out of memory in which I doubt unless you dare putting the whole Bible like I did, you can use FlashPro 1.05 which increases your 2mb by 40%(an exta 824k) by using your FlashROM memory in the Palm device. I still have 571k of memory (yes, with the complete Bible still installed). I have 7 games, more than a dozen downloaded programs, AvantGo which takes 400-500k by itself, then include 80-100 addresses, 50 memos, etc, etc. The Palm V works for me and it looks GREAT!!!
Rating: Summary: Truly terrific. It works like a dream with Microsoft Outlook Review: I now have everything i need at my fingertips. i read an amazon customer review that sounded great and took the plunge and bought it -- it is really really easy to use and I love the hotsynch feature that makes it work so well with Outlook 98. Go for it!
Rating: Summary: Wonder how you can do without it today Review: I have followed a manual system of organizing data, facts, lists, projects, and many other items.I have improved my system every time I see an organizer.I stuck to my manual card system and my red diary.Along the way I bought laptops,notebooks-none to my liking. I have not used Palm III. I could'nt resist the slimness, and the sleek design.I am free of the 10 to 15 cards I carry around.Good bye to updating of cards. My 22 plus passwords are safe in the memo section. This slim mate deserves to sleep in your pocket!!!!
Rating: Summary: After-market Memory Upgrades Review: I have found a few places that will do memory upgrades for all the Palm's. 8M seems to be the max.
Rating: Summary: Lose weight instantly with Palm V Review: I dropped approx 20 pounds of Day-Timer when I bought the Palm V. I synch with the Palm software at home and Outlook 97 at work. Add in CardScan software for another $50 and you can bring your address book up to mega-network levels.
Rating: Summary: It seems very convenient, and fairly reasonable in price! Review: I am interested in this item for its convenience and technological accomplishments. I would like to look for prices a little more, but the item is a great seller.
Rating: Summary: Mac Compatability is great! Review: Not sure why the previous reviewer was having difficulty as I was connected to my Mac and had transfered file to the unit as soon as the battery was fully charged.
Rating: Summary: The best Palm-series organizer yet. Review: They finally figured out that handheld organizers do not have to be encased in turd-like plastic blocks. They finally figured out that the hot-sync stand can double as a recharging stand (!), so you never have to replace batteries. They finally figured out that some people will give up memory capacity to cut the thickness and weight of the organizer in half. This is consumer electronics comparable to the best Japanese ergonomic and aesthetic design, with all the stable, usable features of PalmOS version 3. I stuck with them since the USRobotics/PalmPilot days, and the perseverance has finally paid off.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous Palm V Review: I hesitated to spend the money to upgrade from my trusty Sharp Organizer, but I am thrilled with the increased productivity brought by this elegant device. I was a little concerned about only 2K of memory, but downloaded Clariz Organizer 2.0 from my Macintosh and used only a tiny fraction of the Palm V's capacity. The HotSync works in seconds with only one touch of a button. After three decades of using computers, this elegant, miniature, easy-to-read actual computer is a rush, and it's making me money in my coaching and clinical practice.
