Rating: Summary: Excellent device, if you can find one Review: This is without a doubt, Palm's best PDA. Just as powerful and useful as Palm's higher priced V and Vx models, at about $100 cheaper. Plus, its got an edge over the models its been replaced by. The m100 and m105 do not contain Flash memory like this unit does. That means the users of those machines are stuck with whatever OS comes on the PDA. The IIIxe has 2 MB of Flash memory, so its readily upgradable. The only mistake Palm made with this model was to discontinue it. If your in the market for a PDA and you can find a IIIxe, I whole heartedly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Good value Review: This is the second one I have bought. The first for me, the second for my wife, a devoted paper Franklin Planner user. Within two weeks, the paper was gone and she was using the Palm and Franklin software. Durable, easy to use and alot of software availability. My wife is happy with this one. I'm looking to upgrade to the Vx when the price drops a bit.
Rating: Summary: Even for the disorganized Review: My idea of organization used to be sticking all my post-it notes on the edge of my computer monitor. The Palm has been great. I use it mainly to keep addresses and phone numbers, my calendar and to-do list. It's able to sync with my electronic calendar at work, and able to help me prioritize to-do items. Easy to carry around - graffiti is easy to learn, too. No regrets here - worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Very impressed. Review: I was living out of my filofax before and always scared I was going to lose it. The Palm IIIxe has quelled those fears. It is so easy to sync the information to the computer. It's easy to use, lightweight, and makes me feel so much more organized. It's also convenient for downloading additional software like Vindigo, to see current movie times or restaurants in the area. The only drawback to the Palm is that eats up batteries a bit more quickly than I expected.
Rating: Summary: Just great!!! Review: This palm in my opinion is the best. I got mine for 150 dollars and it blows everything out of the water. The factors that make it great are the price, usefulness, and design. It is a great instrument. Color is not necessary (its just a status symbol) so make a smart affordable choice...palm iiixe.
Rating: Summary: We have a winner! Review: 3Com has another winner here. The Palm IIIxe shines with it's 8 megs of memory, incredibly useful applications, and ease of use. The few things that it lacks in comparison to a Pocket PC system are easily covered by one of the thousands of downloadable applications. Include the fact that it is almost dirt cheap in price, and there is no reason that a respectable college student and business person should not have one. The Palm IIIxe gets 5 out of 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: Adult Toy, and it's useful, too! Review: In a little under a half-hour I had my Palm IIIxe up and running, connected to my PC and using the HotSync function that allows the user to transfer data between the two units. A testament to how much the technology has improved since I first held one of these things. In 1994 I sat down with an Apple Newton, and in a little under a half-hour I was ready to bounce it against a wall. The Palm IIIxe is a terrific product for what my wife and I plan to use them for. We're volunteers at the Minnesota Zoo and as such we interact directly with the public. With a pair of Palm IIIxe's we plan to download key zoo information on each animal and use it as a reminder when we're giving tours. They will also be filled with other information such as locations of emergency phones and numbers, restrooms and guest service desk locations. And as soon as I figure out how, maps of the entire site. Additionally, the screen is big enough to be read easily, and the back lit green will aid us in darker places of the zoo like the Minnesota Trail or the Coral Reef areas. This dynamite little unit weighs next to nothing and is easily tucked away when not in use. The 8mb of memory means that we can pack all sorts of zoo data, indexed to each animal, and other information into it. Plus it's so easy to use that there isn't any hassle to look up names, numbers or other data- the interface is simple and intuitive. Sure it's not as snazzy as the Cassio E-125 Pcoket PC, but then again it's less than half the price. If you want a PDA with enough bells and whistles to satisfy and not so much as to be overwhelming, then the IIIxe is probably the one you want.
Rating: Summary: 1 of the best in technology Review: My husband bought this for me as a "just because I love you" gift. He had bought himself one a month before he bought mine and he said he just loves it. So do I. I love everything about it. It's so functional and anyone can use it, very user-friendly. You don't have to be an executive to own one. If you need some organization in your life, whether you're a mother, father, student, administrative assistant, doctor or a president of a company this will do the trick for you. I especially like downloading and hot syncing all the different freeware and shareware software I get off the internet. Buy it! You won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Just love it Review: This little thing is just wonderful. This is my first PDA and I just love it. I work as an IT professional and find the Palm a Godsend. I can store tons of info hot sync and just sit back and enjoy life. The only problem that I have is that it tends to freeze up every now and again, but a quick reset and everything is back to normal, considering how often PC's crash I'm willing to over look this small problem. Tons of software make for hours of fun when I'm hiding from the boss.
Rating: Summary: A Great Product Review: i got the palm IIIxe for my birthday and i think it is a great product. it has more memory than you could ever use. i also like the design and the sturdy plastic. my only complaint is that you can't recharge the batteries, but that is okay anyway because the battery life is very good. this is definitely the best pda in my opinon, the price is very resonable too!
