Rating: Summary: I can't synch.... Review: I bought a IIIex,with a lot of expectation, and i havent been able to SYNCH both of my computers with my palm, because it has a serial port and neither of the one recognise it. I really dont know what to do in the case.
Rating: Summary: The IIIxe Is A Wonderful Product Review: For the price point, you cannot beat this model. It has everything you need, and a whopping 8MB of RAM to boot! It's so intuitive and easy to use. It's a true road warrior as well, coming through with flying colors travelling through 3 continents. Palm outdid themselves with the IIIxe! Bravo!
Rating: Summary: Can't put it down! Review: Being a loyal DayTimer fan, I was reluctant to move into a PDA. Amazon delivered it in 2 days and I have been very impressed with its ability. In no time, I was up and running and have not used the old planner since. The ease of the software and the HotSync are most impressive! The portable keyboard will certainly make this a complete unit for my purposes. Way to go Palm!
Rating: Summary: Much better than expected! Review: I'm another person who has been using the Franklin Planner system for years. I'd travel with "my book" and it took up so much room in my suitcase. The Palm IIIxe gives me a portability that my planner never did. I can update lists quick as a flash and organize them too. If a meeting is rescheduled, there's no crossing out and scribbling required - just a couple of quick taps and you're done. No more post it notes with lists of groceries to buy or books to look for at the library. This is handy, compact and a breeze! I was expecting a little organizer instead of a powerful computer. I've only had it a few days so I'm still exploring the available downloads out there to make this an integral part of my life.I didn't choose this model for myself - it was a birthday present from my husband. However, if I were doing the choosing, this is exactly what I'd want.
Rating: Summary: WOW, now I see what all the fuss is about Review: I debated on whether or not I really needed a PDA, but after getting the IIIxe I knew I would never be able to live without one again. All of the add on applications available are great (making the 8mb a requirement) GREAT!
Rating: Summary: It Was Love At First Tap Review: This item has made my life easier. I was so used to using a calender, another electronic organizer and good ole paper to keep track of my everyday work. Since purchasing the palm IIIxe, my life has been simplified. It is so easy to use and its compact size makes it easy to take around wherever you go. What is really impressive is the ease of the Palm's menu. You literally just tap the screen on an application you want to use. The graffiti feature takes some practice but once you've gotten used to it, it's a breeze. I especially enjoy using the hot sync to download my e-mail for later viewing. Entering information in the address and date book is fast using the accompanying software on your home or office PC. You just type in the information and hot sync it to your Palm with little effort. I think that anyone considering to purchase a Palm PDA should consider the IIIxe. It has a generous 8MB or RAM, twice as much as the IIIx as well as some added new features. I contemplated purchasing the IIIc because of its color feature but later changed my mind. I could not justify paying an additional $200 for the color feature. The IIIxe gives you the most bang for the buck. I highly recommend this item for those seriously considering purchasing a PDA and to to purchase it from Amazon.com. They were the only ones who have it in stock and it arrived at my door after only two days of placing the order.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional time saver Review: This product has done nothing but ease my work in high school. For instance, an essay is assigned in english. I can type it up on the keyboard accessory and print it out when I get home. Then I can relax when I get home instead of worrying about work due the next day. The To do list also replaces my paper agenda and is a very nice feature allowing you to check off items upon completion. What can I say? The Palm IIIxe saves a ton of time plus it's fun in study hall playing games with others that have one. I love the infra red port. I used to have the IIIe and this is a much better model allowing me to put in a ton more programs. An ingenious device. I can't think of going back to the old way of using paper anymore. Palm is definately a must have. You won't regret purchasing one.
Rating: Summary: A MUST-HAVE ITEM! Review: As a long time Franklin/Covey planner user, I was not anxious to join the PDA crowd, but after seeing a friend use a PalmV to do her grocery shopping - I had to look into it! The IIIxe has everything you need - memory, features and add-on capabilities. I am a stay-at-home mom and with Girl Scouts, Soccer practices, piano lessons, the house, the husband and the rest, I needed something to help me keep up with life! This machine does it all! I can enter in far more information than I could in my paper planner! Plus, with some additional programs, I can play solitaire, black jack and enter my expenses into a PDA version of Quicken while I wait for my children to finish their activities. No more paper for me!
Rating: Summary: Buy it. It's terrific! Review: This little great device is really useful, convenient, affordable, dependable, practical, you name it. I was always thinking of a Windows CE handheld computer and never paid much attention to Palm computers. Then, one day, just a month ago, I bought the Palm IIIe (because it was affordable: $149) thinking that I was just getting a "monochromatic electronic organizer" in the meantime (unlike a full-color Windows CE, etc.), but to my surprise I had a little powerful computer! I was hooked in less than one day and I even bought the PalmPilot book by David Pogue. Two weeks later, browsing the Net, I saw the newest model, the Palm IIIxe, and comparing the features I ordered it immediately. What I like about the Palm IIIxe, just to mention a few things, is its 8MB of memory (which in the Palm OS world is really A LOT), the upgradable operating system (unlike the Palm IIIe), the 2 AAA batteries that last on average 3 weeks if you use your Palm a lot, thousands of programs to download and of course the one-button sync with my PC. Other than the basic functions, I use it as a database browser, dictionary, quick reference for book titles and URLs I keep jotting down, my repository of ideas (including small sketches), financial calculator and to download customized channels from the Web to read later on. In my wish list, dear Palm Engineers, there is only one thing: This wonderful handheld computer with the screen resolution and sharpness of the E-Book.
Rating: Summary: This is the perfect pick for first-time Palm owners Review: In a last-minute decision, I decided to spend the extra money (just $100 more) for a Palm Pilot IIIxe rather than a Palm IIIe. I couldn't stand the thought of not being able to upgrade and having just 2 Megs of memory on my system. The IIIxe is everything I hoped it would be. I easily got it synced up with Lotus Notes, and am able to track all my appointments, all my To-Do's, and can keep all my various project notes in one place. I've already exceeded 2 Megs worth of memory (mainly because I like to read and I've begun to install e-books) and yet the performance is unchanged; as fast and reliable as ever. Finally, the batteries seem to last forever. I've been using my IIIxe constantly for 2 weeks now and the batteries are still mostly charged. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with product. A great price gets you lots of memory and all the features you'll need for personal and business use.
