Rating: Summary: I like my Palm Review: I never wanted to be one of 'those people' who you think are computer geeks walking around with a Palm. Now, I am one of them. I've had my Palm IIIxe for two weeks now and I really like it. I only had a slight problem setting up the AvantGo software (offline reading of websites) because of a firewall setting problem where I work. Otherwise the setup was very smooth. The Palm hotsync'd with Outlook both at home (via dial up to work) and at work. I would recommend buying some sort of protective case right away. I also have now ordered a hotsync cable to use at home since I've been leaving the hotsync cradle at work. Now that I have the AvantGo software working, I want to be able to hotsync at home as well. It's nice having some stuff to read say on a long car ride....and it's so much nicer having the Palm rather than hauling around a big laptop. The real beauty of the whole thing is that everything is backed up...by that I mean since we use Outlook at work for e-mail and calendar and stuff, even if I have to reset the Palm, or one of my kids erases/deletes something, all I have to do is hotsync and I'm back in business. I'm sorry I waited this long to get one.
Rating: Summary: I miss my Palm Personal; IIIxe not as solid, screen lacks! Review: I owned [or perhaps it owned me] a Palm Personal for four years. It died earlier this month (RIP). Even with only 1/2 Meg of ram, I never outgrew it.I am impressed with the storage capability of my new IIIxe. The infrared is cool, since my family and coworkers also have Palms. Although the IIIxe is an upgrade in specifications, however, I liked the Personal edition better; the Personal felt more durable and the screen didn't squish under the stylus. I have heard a lot of reviews telling me that the new IIIxe screen is so much clearer and higher contrast than the older models. I think the new screen is much more difficult to read than my Personal model. I'm not so sure that I am satisfied with this new unit, but I've become so reliant on the Palm that I'll have to keep it. I can't justify the money for the color upgrade.

Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: I've had the Palm IIIxe for just 2 weeks - and already I don't know how I lived without it! When I first started shopping for a handheld, I became enamored with the Pocket PC. Music, Colors, toys - and a very large price tag. A large enough price tage that I paused and took stock - what did I really want to buy a hand-held for? That's the one thing every person should ask themselves - why do you want your Handheld? Will it be a music (mp3) player? organizer? or just an expensive gadget? For myself, I wanted something that would 1. help organize my life. 2. sync. in with MS Outlook at work 3. have enough additional shareware/freeware to pick up additional functions as needed (like a journal program and some investment software.) Looking at this, it became a much easier decision. The Palm is the best for organization (highly reliable and easy to use). Also, there are ALOT of shareware and freeware programs for it to add to the functionality. The Palm IIIxe has 8 meg of memory (more than enough for all the toys you could want to add to it) at a price that is extremely reasonable. So ask yourself - why do you really want a handheld?
Rating: Summary: A Compact storehouse of information ! Review: I have had a good experience using this product but at the end of one month i have had to do a hard reset of this unit twice. having loaded this unit with my valuable personal information i dread to think about the consequences of not having access to my PC which has the Palm Desktop manager with the data. certainly it has all the features to keep one organised but the utitlity is diminished with a unstable operating system. I hope it is not another Windows. Will Palm address this issue ?
Rating: Summary: I wasted time doubting Review: This is the single best technology purchase I have ever made. Beautifully designed and engineered, the Palm IIIxe is a tremendous value. Within minutes of opening the box I was up and running with my entire 2,100 name address book imported from Lotus Organizer (a feat I could never successfully accomplish with Outlook). This is a very intuitive and powerful personal productivity tool, that can easily sub as a micro-computer for the power user. The economy of the Palm programs leaves me with more than 5 of the 8 megs of memory free after cramming programs and data into it. I've also bought the palm portable keyboard, which is an absolute dream. I delayed far too long in picking this up--if you are considering it, just take the plunge, you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: I Love It Review: One of the few hardware items I ever owned to meet its advertizing and my ex[pectations.
Rating: Summary: I Really Love My Palm IIIXe Review: I have found that it is both easy and powerful! I use it for many different applications and have found it to serve me well. I strongly recommend this to users who can't afford color or need the connected web applications!
Rating: Summary: Ok, I'm hooked...or should I say 'connected'? Review: I've had my palm IIIxe for a month now, and I'm very impressed with this little gadget! I take it everywhere, and am never at a loss for a phone number, directions to someone's house, my entire schedule! I can even download my e-mail in the morning, respond to it in my spare time, and then send it when I get home! I make so much more efficient use of my time now that I have the Palm IIIxe! Well-worth the price!
