Rating: Summary: good idea - bad idea Review: Hello all... I am a 6 month user of a palm m105... I love it... I was patiently awaiting the coming out of the new m125... To my dissapointment it appers that this model is sort of a cross between the m100 series and the m500 series PDA's. I find this very odd from both the consumer point of view and the point of view of Palm Inc... To me; it would make more sense for I/O ( port for the hotsync cradle ) to be like the m100 series but it is not ... it is designed to work with the m500 cradle and accessories... I probably would have bought and m100 and the m125 just so I could get some spare faceplates... Plus I wouldn't have to buy new cases for the palm... I could just take whichever one I wanted... I just don't get it Palm ... besides the shape, the m500 and the m125 are the same darn thing... is there really room for that little niche you just created? ... I can bet that Palm is gonna be stuck selling these m100 series palms 'til they go bankrupt and I would suggest to anyone to wait for another price drop on the m500 which is now at 329.00... If you buy one : please post here ... maybe I'm judging prematurely...ciao
Rating: Summary: Palm m125 Handheld Review: I think that the new m125 will turn out to be a fantastic product for any new Palm user who would like to have the basics of a Palm Handheld. The software which is included is very functional and it is very easy to acces the Internet with the m125 as with most other Palm's. The expansion memory slots are a God-sent and and because it uses the newest Palm 4.0 OS, you know you will be getting a quality product which will remain at the bleeding edge of compatability for years to come. If you are thinking about purchasing a handheld computer, you should seriously consider the new m125. It's a great value buy for the functionality and compatability it offers.
Rating: Summary: great Review: all I can say is it is great it has all kines of things avontgo is my favorite
Rating: Summary: The Long awaited m125 Review: When i first read the rumours about the m125 i tought it was just doctored pictures of m10x and not going to be a real product but after that the spesifications came and it become more real and when i saw the product on palm's offical site (after wisiting for everyday for a month) my dreams came true. first of all this product is something between m10x series and the b/w m500. it has the sportive look of the m10x and the enterprise solutions and the functions of m500. people will think buying sony's entry level clie is better than this but it is not, because m125 has the mmc/sd slot wich makes offers long times of use without being out of the technology. So trust me and go for a m125 its worth everything. If you ask me why four stars the answer is simple because of the stabilised os 4.0 its not open for upgrading.
Rating: Summary: This is the Palm I was looking for! Review: I was so excited to hear about the debut of this new Palm. The m125 has all the funtionality I wanted and was considering buying an m500 to get, while being inexpensive and allowing me to use the accesories I already own from my m100. The slightly smaller width of the m100 series fits much better in my hand than my husband's Vx, and I love having the ability to change the faceplates to suit my mood. While my m100 is less than a year old, I have already filled up its 2mb of memory. The 8mb of memory the m125 has, along with the ability to use the multimedia cards, means this should be the Palm a use for quite a few years. I would definitely recommend this Palm.
Rating: Summary: A good start Review: So i bought the Paml M125 2 days ago.. Its my first Palm and im feeling pretty good about it. Its a nice size and fits in a pocket very nicely. The hot sync option is great cause, you can "get in synch"With the Palm program on your Pc and they share the info with each other . So if you enter an address on your PC, when you perform a "hotsync" your Palm gets the new info and viceversa. It has a card slot for extra memory or more programs or what have you. You can always get extra pograms for free from palm.com and other sources. It's also customiseable to the point of getting new face colors and all kinds of different cases. If you need internet access you can get it by purchasing a Palm pilot modem. They now come in wirleless form. Its definetly a positive product. I do have a problem with the fact that the date book does'nt let you schedule past 12 am..I work in retail and have crazy shifts..Sometimes i work 4pm-1am and it can't be entered because its odviously past 12am which is the latest the hour in the program. That isnt the problem for most people's schedule but its a big thing for me. Well hope this helped you.
Rating: Summary: If basic is enough Review: This model was kind of out-dated already when I bought it back in 2002, but I was just looking for a basic Palm handheld since I knew that I wouldn't use all the extra features you had on the newer models. It's served me well over the years, and now when I have updated to a newer model I reckon that the PalmOne m125 had all I needed, so there was not really necessary for me to upgrade. My only complaint on model is the battery time.
Rating: Summary: Good feel but Glitchy Performance Review: This unit feels great in your hand, screen is small but very clear. The big complaint that have and I'm not sure if its isolated to this unit is when I replace the batteries it gives no alternative but to erase the data, then restore it. Not good to say the least, makes this unit useless if I have to take it on the road. No way to fix that problem in the field.
Rating: Summary: Great features - Short Life Review: Until yesterday when my M125 died for no apparent reason, I was happy with my m125. It was small and relatively light, and was comfortable to hold. It was a replacement for my old Palm III (Which the new owner tells me is still working) so learning Graffiti was not a problem. Call me crazy but I expect the product to last more than 17 Months. Yes it was bought new, not a refurb. The SD card was nice to hold large documents. If you do get this model, make sure you do a hotsync before you change the batteries. If you fumble with a battery for a second, the changeout will take too long and you will have to restore from backup. I average 1 set of AAAs a month, so I have no complaints about battery life. With the service fee being $100, it was not worth repairing beyond the online try this first FAQ on the palmone site. Usability 4.5 Stars Long life 1 Star Overall 3 Stars
