Summary: BUYER BEWARE OF M125!
Review: I HAVE JUST MADE ARANGEMENTS FOR MY 4TH m125 SINCE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!
I AM NOT NEW TO PALM. I BOUGHT A m125 FOR MY WIFE FOR CHRISTMAS & IT HAD A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH "WEAK" SPOTS ON THE SCREEN. TRYING TO RESET THE DIGITIZER TAKES 6-18 TAPS. THIS PROBLEM EXISTS OUT OF THE BOX, WITH OR WITHOUT ANY 3RD PARTY APPS.

CHECK OUT <...>
OUR FRIENDS AT PALM OBVIOUSLY DON'T EVEN READ THE FORUMS LINKED DIRECTLY FROM THEIR SITE, THEY ALL ACT AS IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY'VE HEARD OF THIS. OBVIOUSLY MY EXPERIENCE IS NOT UNIQUE!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE SPENT WAY WAY WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THE PHONE TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS. m125 #1 BOUGHT FROM BEST BUY, #2 EXCHANGED AT BEST BUY (HAD TROUBLE GETTING ONE IN STOCK), #3 SCHEDULED BY PALM CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT NEVER CAME!!! AFTER A WEEK & 3-4 CALLS SOMEONE THERE DECITED THEY LOST THE REPLACEMENT REQUEST AND SCHEDULED AN ADVANCE RETURN. >>>CAUTION<<< I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD BE A NEW UNIT. GUESS WHAT-THEY SENT A REFERB WITH THE SAME PROBLEM!!!!!!~!

BUYER BEWARE!

IF YOU HAVE A UNIT WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, CALL PALM IMMEDIATELY!
...

THERE IS NO EXCAUSE FOR THIS! I FEEL FOR ANYBODY WHO BUYS THIS AS THERE FIRST PALM (WHO THEY HAVE CLEARLY TARGETED) AND HAS THIS PROBLEM AND THINKS MAYBE THIS IS THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE! OR MAYBE IT IS SOMETHING THEY ARE DOING OR SOMETHING THEY INSTALLED. AND THE OH SO HELPFUL TIPS LIKE USING A POINTER STYLUS AND "TRY RECALIBRATING THE DIGITIZER", PLEASE, THIS IS NOT HOW THIS PRODUCT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK. I HAVE ONLY SEEN THIS BEHAVIOR IN THE m125. 3 OF THEM.

PISSED.

Summary: Excellent handheld!
Review: The Palm m125 handheld is excellent. I got mine on November 28, 2001 and I have been using it everyday since. I have done so much with it. It has a lot of memory space and the good thing is that you can expand up to 64MB. I really enjoy it and it is a good tool for entertaiment (games), schedules, addresses, e-mails, and even date and time. It is an excellent tool not just for just businessmen or women, but also for high school students or even college students. I got it as a Christmas gift from my parents and I am so glad that I got it. I highly recommend it.

Summary: It's doing exactly what I need it to do
Review: This is my first PDA. I'm not someone who is using it all day to read email, play games, or browse the web. I need something I can keep comfortably in my fanny pack, that lets me organize my appointments (very few) and address book (not that many). I also need to keep multiple to do lists and write the occasional note. That's pretty much it. Oh, backlighting and something to protect the buttons from being pushed in my fanny pack. Pretty basic stuff.

I bought the m125 over the m100 or m105 because of the ability to use the expansion card (I'm not using it now but it's nice to know it's an option) and so I can use the USB cradle with my Mac (the OS X beta of the Palm desktop is working just fine, BTW). I am VERY happy with my purchase. The batteries are holding out well, too (I've only used the backlight a couple of times and I'm good about shutting it off--even though the power saver works great, too).

If you need something basic, the m125 will suit you just fine. If you need to go beyond basic, you shouldn't be looking at the m-series to begin with, right?

Summary: Still needs work
Review: The Palm m125 is my first PDA and I've had it for about a month.
I spent the first week or so learning to use the features and software that came with the product so I could take full advantage of it's capabilities.

After this period of time I put it into actual use and find that it has both pluses and minuses.

On the plus side the inbuilt features and software bundle that came with the Palm work well and as designed. There also seems to be a great deal of software available to suit most anyones needs. The support that I've needed from Palm has been professional, timely and helpful whether it be via email or over the phone.

On the minus side the screen is very small and somewhat hard to read as compared others PDA's that I've looked at more recently. The stylus is also not as sturdy or as large as some others and in my opinion not as easy to use. What troubles me most about the m125 is that I constantly have to re-sync it with my laptop as it looses all data at least once a day. It seems to be very sensative to the position of the batteries in the unit. While holding the unit in my right hand, three fingers across the back of the unit (where the batteries are) and my thumb on the front, the slightest pressure to the unit with my thumb over the to-do-list button causes the unit to turn off and either perform a soft boot, hard boot in which case all data is lost or just a complete refuseal to turn back on until I open the battery panel on the back and re-position the batteries. Because of this problem I find I'm better of using the scraps of paper and my laptop as I have in the past for my organizational and information needs.

Summary: Palm m125 new owner
Review: I just received the Palm m100 and traded it in for the m125 for expandablity but haven't used it yet. I wanted to know how long the batteries last in the unit. I wish it had rechargeable batteries which would make it a perfect pda for the price. If someone could tell me how long the batteries last with normal use I would be happy.

Summary: Old Eyes
Review: I had problems by order of importance to me with my first 2 because:
1. Stylus interface to screen
--req'd excess pressure
--alignment to icons inconsistent - after repeated calibration
--text inconsistent, i.e. "I" comes up with "F" as worst one
happened with other letters (both units) 2nd unit better but
still had "I" problem though lesser extent.
2. Monochrome screen is hard on my eyes - decided color is best.
3. Screen size is too small. Prefer the larger though bulkier
wider screen.

Currently owner of a 2 meg Palm IIIE. I have a basis of comparison as to sytlus pressure which is fine with this unit.
The "new and improved" were polar opposite on this score.

Summary: Screen too small. Unit repackaged. Cover scratched...
Review: I have returned this product for the following reasons:

1. The screen, although sharp, is actually smaller than the Palm Vx, IIIxe, etc. This reduction in size leads to a reduction in the ability to enlarge fonts of about one magnitude. Since I already was at the largest font on my IIIxe this was a step backward.

2. The flip rubber cover, although a nice idea, came totally scratched. Investigation with Palm revealed that you cannot purchase a replacement cover.

3. The product I received was actually a returned/repackaged item. The unit came with two AAA batteries already installed plus the two in the package.

4. While the unit does allow for expansion via memory cards, there are currently no applications that can actually take advantage of this extra address space.

Summary: Finally, I feel organized...........
Review: I received my Palm m125 as a gift. It is easy to use. It syncs easily to my PC and the software included is helpful. Furthermore, I have found many compatible/useful freeware programs that are handy to carry around in my Palm. I am a health care professional and the amount of Palm m125 medical software out there is amazing!!
I find only one downfall. The back light is too intense for dim-light rooms, and so there doesn't appear to be enough contrast between the foreground text and the back light.

All in all, I would recommed this to anybody who wants more than the basic PDA but doesn't want to spend $400 plus. It's a good buy!!

Summary: M125
Review: I just purchase the M125 to upgrade from my M100. Last year I purchased the M100 for the feel and shape of the machine. I am not normally a memory hog but with the M100 I managed to run out of space. I looked at all kinds of pda's before purachasing the Palm M125. The Clie' s320 is a very functional machine but Sony does not offer an extended warrenty on this machine so if you purachse the product from a low price dealler you are stuck with the one year limited warrenty. I do not know about the average purchaser of the this product but I expect more than one year of life out of a pda that I am spending 100+ dollars on. The Visor product appears to be just a cut rate palm and the price is not that cheap in comparison. Ilooked at just about every option event the M105, but the feel and shape and the ablity to expand the memory swayed my opinion.
