Summary: you have to buy the advanced guide
Review: I have been using a Palm for 5 years, figured it was time to upgrade. I ordered the Clie and hooked it up. Guess what! To learn about any of the advanced features (which I ordered it for) you have to PAY in addition for the guide with this information. This stinks and it really ruined the excitement of getting this pda. Be forewarned. I am going to search online and try to find the advanced info for free.

Summary: five star price but set up was a little rough
Review: Like with cell phones and digital cameras, I expected to be able to put away any included instructions and be able to do the basics like sync with my Outlook and download some pics onto my new Sony SJ-22. I failed miserably and finally went home at 8pm when my wife called me home. The main problem was that Intellisync Lite which comes with the SJ-33 is not included in the SJ-22 as indicated on Sony's website. The solution is to download it and pay $ after the 30 day trial or buy something that does the same thing. A cheap solution is available for those who already had similar software from their last PDA. I used software from my ancient Handspring. It took several attempts. Best thing to do is uninstall all Palm software. Next install your old software first specifying Outlook as your software to sync with. Finally, install your new Palm software but do not choose to 'remove old/existing conduits'. Those conduits are what allow you to sync with Outlook. Good luck. I love my SJ-22 now and pictures look beautiful on it.

Summary: Lots of features for the price
Review: I just got my SJ22 this weekend and so far I really like it. The screen is fantastic - better than my husband's Toshiba Pocket PC, which cost more than my Clie. Its really small (fits very nicely into a woman's purse) and with the addition of the memory stick feature, I don't have to worry about running out of space if I load a bunch of software. I was told that I can get a cable to connect it to my cellphone to do web browsing, but I haven't tried that yet. I also sync with Outlook and haven't had any problems. However, I already had a Handspring Visor setup, so the installation process was simplified (I'm using Chapura to sync with Outlook, which is what came with my Handspring). My only concern is the possibility of losing the memory card. There's no lock - you just press the card to release it. I'd recommend getting a case the fully encases the PDA to guard against bumping the memory card and losing it.

Summary: My favorite Clie yet!
Review: I've owned many PDAs, including four Clies. I've owned the S320, S360 (my previous favorite), the SL10, and now the SJ22. The features that make this unit my favorite are:
1. Rechargeable battery. The S320 and S360 had rechargables, but the SL10 used AAA batteries.
2. The size. This unit is smaller than any other PDA I've ever owned.
3. The screen color and resolution. The high-res color screen makes using this a joy in any lighting conditions.
4. The hot-sync cable plugs in at the bottom, as opposed to on the left side (SL10). I no longer have to open the case to sync it.
Unlike one of the other reviewers, I did not have any problems syncing this with Outlook. The low price and great list of features make this an easy pick.

Summary: Great colour screen; sleek little device
Review: A first time PDA user, I got this device as a gift. I like it very much. The screen colours are big, bright and crisp. Play decent movie clips too. The case is stylish and relatively light. Easy & fun to use. I am able to sync with Outlook XP's mail using the included software without any problems. For other features of Outlook (address book, to-do, etc), I use CompanionLink. The battery life could improve, but I can use the gadget for 4-5 hours between each re-charge. Would have liked it more if it comes with applications for viewing Word / Excel / PDF files, but for an entry-level device, I shouldn't ask for more.

Summary: nice color screen
Review: I finally gave in and upgraded from the Handspring visor Edge to the Sony Clie SJ22. I use my handheld mostly for addresses and appointments, and I check a medication database multiple times each day at work. I wanted a good color screen and a basic package. I got both of these. I don't mind the lack of a docking cradle. I don't use Outlook for contacts and appointments, so I have not had any similar problems to the earlier reviewers.

Summary: It's nice...
Review: Pros: very nice 320x320 colour screen, 16mb ram, fits nicely in my pocket =)
Cons: no cradle, no documents to go software, battery life is noticeably shorter than the sj-20
Comments: This is basically the SJ-33 at a cheaper price. If you are looking for a high-value, reliable colour pda to organize your life, then this ones for you.

Summary: don't buy if you want to sync with Outlook
Review: I heard raves about the Clie products & was very excited that the price of the CJ22 (color) came down to <$.... However, not very happy to find out that the Intellisync software needed to hotsync with Microsoft Outlook was not included. The installation CD-ROM clearly says that it's there & the written instruction/installation documentation also shows steps how to select the hotsync software. Doesn't work when you try & install. I wasted an entire day trying to get this to work & the support staff at Sony have been less than helpful.

Summary: NOT FOR NOVICES
Review: I am new to the PDA world, so when I received this as a Christmas gift last year, I was pretty excited about my new gadget. However, once I got into the meat of trying to use it, I found that it is not a user friendly system when it comes to the HotSync, etc functions. Additionally, as a novice, I'd expected the CDRom to provide more instruction for usage than it did. In fact, there was absolutely NO user instructions enclosed at all. Additionally, I recently lost every iota of data in the thing because there was never any instruction on how to save your information and prevent it from being lost. I wouldn't recommend this unit if you've never used one before.

Summary: Great PDA lacking some features
Review: I really liked this PDA. It combined funtionality with a great price and a easy to use product. I loved how this was priced so low and it was color and rechargable. But it lacked MP3 capibility. It was a great PDA but I have updated to a Palm Tungsten T.
