Summary: Best PDA I've Ever Owned!
Review: The M130 is my 6th PDA, having previously owned the m100, m125, m500, Sony CLIE PEGS320, and a Handspring Visor Prism. In terms of form factor, features, price, and dependability it blows them all out of the water! I bought my m130 the day it came out on the market (March 7, 2002) and I haven't been disappointed one bit. It's been completely trouble free, hotsyncs every time without fail, and has a brilliant color display that in my opinion is superior to the m515. I personally prefer the m130's slightly thicker form factor and smaller screen over the m515, and I really like the ability to change faceplates to suit whatever mood I'm in at the time.

I've heard that the m515 has the same manufacturing glitch that has plagued the m500 and m515 and after three warranty exchanges on my m500 I cannot in good faith recommend the m515. I can and do recommend the m130 though.

Summary: Good things are coming...
Review: The m100 series is heading in the right direction with this model. Rechargable batteries, SD card slot, nice color display... what isn't to like?

One problem is that it seems to lack some of the get-up-and-go that competative Palm models have. This can be quickly overlooked, though, given that it sells for less than any of them. Even the new m515 is being given a run for the money.

One long time problem with Palm color displays was the inability to draw a simple, strait line. The IIIc made a single line look like an EKG bar at times. This has been more or less cleared up with this unit. The m505 and m515 still seem to suffer from this age old problem, unless you draw the line very quickly, putting more points in the m130's favor.

The only thing that may be worth holding out for is OS 5 and high resolution units. At present, nothing solid is being said, so if you have the cash or just want a unit now, forget extra bells and whistles, this will more than suit you.

Summary: Great new PDA
Review: I started with a m100 and graduated to the 125 and sold that and bought a 130. I like the Palm because of the ergonomic design. It fits your hand well when holding it. The screen is small, but the color makes up for it and although the 125 screen and 130 screen are the same size, you can see things better on the 130. I had a few questions regarding the Hot Sync and rechargeable battery, but I E-mailed Palm and they responded within 24 hours. I use it everyday and am buying an extra HotSync cable for work. I priced the other products, but with the extras you get like Doc to Go and the Palm Reader it's worth it to have them all in one package and not have to worry about compatibility. I have Windows 98 and used the bus port and had no problems downloading some free demos nor had any with transferring them to the Palm. Playing the games in color makes a world of difference. Again, I would recommend this product wholeheartedly.

Summary: Perfect, especially the price
Review: I've owned a Palm m130 for a couple of months and it has been everything i expected. Many of the reviews here complain about the handheld breaking after a week of use, but mine has had no problems. It has a lot of great features, like the PalmReader, word to go and all of the other software that Palm is famous for. My favorite software is the PalmReader. You can read at night without having to use a light, and it stays on the same page when you use other programs, eliminating the need for a book mark. In my opinion, it has one of the best faceplates you can buy. You can also purchase many other expansions for it, like a keyboard, bluetooth cards, wireless modems and leather cases. Within minutes of opening the box i had downloaded games and a dictionary from the internet, and didn't have to pay for any of it. Using the Palm is incredibly easy, even my dad can use it. The rechargable batteries are great and it lasts a long time. My favorite feature is the color screen. After using a monochrome screen for a while i came to the conclusion that there is no comparison. After using the color screen for a day, I could barely even see the monochrome screen that my brother has. If you're debating between which PDA to buy, get this one, you won't be disapointed.

Summary: The Color Is Great!
Review: I upgraded from my Palm m100 to the Palm m130 and what a tremendous difference the color makes, it is great! I really didn't use my m100 much because I did not like the dullness of the black & white. I have loaded and organized everything on my m130 including some pictures and even my grocery list. The software that comes with it is great and you can spend a little more and get some great programs to download. My only complaint is that the battery drains much quicker then I thought it would.

Summary: Yes!
Review: Save yourself the trouble of looking for a better deal. There isn't one.

I looked at Sony, Compaq, et. al, and there wasn't a better "bang for your buck" out there.

This palm is slightly bulkier than this 505, but you are saving a ton of money for basically the same machine. When I say "bulky," I say that while still being able to put it in a leather wallet and fit it into my pants' pocket.

The expandability is nice, and the 3rd party stuff for it is endless. Color is a nice feature as well.

This is a good one, particularly at this price point.

Summary: What a difference!
Review: WOw, Palm really is getting up in the world- The amount of things you can do with a Palm Pilot is unbelievable. i had a Palm M105 and liked it, and decided to take the next step up. I would like to see a really cool, slim hard case come out for it, like the blue aluminum for the Palm V. BUt I really enjoy being able to take the Web and a book with me in the car, etc. Games, and my addresses etc. I am really into these things now. I replaced everything I used to carry around in a dayrunner everyday, with this!! I need a good little journal, though- anyone know of a good one?
Thanks, Yvie

Summary: Great organization tool!!
Review: I've had the palm m130 for about a month now and I love it. I had the handspring visor before and find the palm much easier to use. I use it to keep my family organized (4 kids) and it's worked out great. It's very basic to use but holds tons of information from lists to the calendar to phone numbers and addresses. It's also small and the flip cover is nice since it keeps the screen clean and protects it. The rechargable battery means no more worrying about batteries running out and the color display is just easier to see. Great product without spending an arm and a leg for the more expensive color models out there!!
