Summary: A gotta have product!!
Review: Received this a few days ago. Everything works great. Have loaded dig pics and some movie clips. Must-have accessories are 64MB card and screen protector. Bought pouch case with belt clip from EB Cases and it works for me. I want to hold the bare Palm, not flip lids or grab a bulky case. And I had some personal courteous help from individuals at Amazon concerning this purchase.

Summary: Everything I need is in my Palm M130
Review: I've finally replaced my Franklin planner with a handheld, the Palm M130. It took my awhile to decide what device model would fit my budget, priorities and lifestyle (in that order). The ability to recharge it attracted me to it. I hate replacing batteries. I can't compare it with other PDAs in the market. But, I'm very pleased with my pick. My only regret is purchasing the Game Card (with a 50% discount). The games are rather addicting. I never leave home without it.

Summary: Glowing Gem
Review: With its bright colored screen, Palm M130 is really a neat gadget to walk around with! The down side is that it seems that the bright screen eats up the battery rather quickly. Despite of that it is five stars for its screen, built in 8 megs of memory and expandibility. I use it to store tons of information (drugs/ clinical database and much more) and it never fails. As I said, the only thing is that one need to be on the look out for that battery indicator. Needs daily recharging. All in all a glowing gem.
PS. Palm has admitted that it does not have 65,000 colors (as initially advertised) but even with that it is petty awesome.

Summary: problem after 7 weeks of ownership
Review: Everything with this Palm has been great...until now. After owning for less than 2 months, the stylus works on one side of the screen and not the other. Calibration and hard reset will not work either. Since past the 30 day return time ..., we contacted Palm and were told that they were sending another to us. After we receive, we mail back our broken Palm and (Money). So much for the free shipping offer from our original order that was a graduation present for my husband.

Summary: Just the Palm Ma'am..
Review: With so many Palm type handhelds I decided to narrow the search to those we use in our office, yet that didn't make it any easier as I found so many using either the Handspring or Palm based PDA's. What made me pick the M130 was a chance advertisement at the mall that allowed me to charge with 0% interest. Good deal indeed! This little wonder packs so much for such a cool price, it can be loaded with games, ebooks and store way more addresses and numbers then my cell phone could. Plus it is cool to carry with its Star Trek like cover. The only beefs I have with it is the lack of audio capability but then again it is a Palm and not a Clie.

Storage issues are easily solved by the use of a MultiMediaCard that can boost the memory upto 128 MB and since MP3's are not an issue that should be plenty for just about any routine task The perfect companion to any busy minded or busy body person.

Summary: Love this little thing!
Review: I first bought the green screen m125, but I work a lot in low-light situations and found it didn't work well then. After one weekend, I went back to the store and exchanged it for the m130, hoping that the color screen would rectify that shortcoming. It did, and I'm thrilled.

The capabilities of the m130 have revolutionized how I work. I no longer need a clipboard when I'm photographing weddings, and I've done away with my written appointment book in the studio. Everything goes into the computer, and is synced to the Palm m130. I keep it with me everywhere I go, so can easily and quickly add doctor's appointments, check my schedule, do EVERYTHING. Also, for the dead times when I'm sitting and waiting for whatever, the gaming capabilities are tremendous. Lots of excellent games out there for time-wasting.

I'm pleased with the rechargeable battery. While it does get used quickly (lasts much longer when the light's on low than on high), it fully recharges in just ten minutes! Wish my camera's rechargeable battery pack was that fast.

My family knows already that where *I* go, my Palm goes.

Summary: Worked great til it broke
Review: I used this thing every day for about 4 months when it stopped working. It acted like the battery went out, since it would no longer charge.

Summary: A power-user tip
Review: I found a neat trick that I thought I'd pass on.

I noticed that in the built-in apps such as the To Do list, Memopad, and even the Datebook, if you pull down the Options menu, you'll find the selection, "phone lookup."

This is useful if you create, say, a To Do list item that says, "Call John Smith about current account." Using this feature, you can pop over to your phone book, look up John's number, and then cancel out of the phone book app and go back to the To Do list, Memopad, or whatever.

However, there is a little trick to this that makes it work much better. The trick is to position the cursor after the person's name in the text of the To Do or Memo item, or wherever you have it, that you want to look up, before you tap on "phone lookup." This way you will be popped right to the person's name in the database, instead of having to look further from there.

One further gotcha I noted is to be careful not to leave a space after the person's name and put the cursor there. If you do that it won't directly look up the person's name and you'll still have to scroll down to it.

Summary: Best PDA Deal for the Average Consumer
Review: The Palm m130, for its price and what it offers, is probably the best deal on the PDA market right now.

The m130 offers the same basic functions like any other PDA on the market: address book, calendar, notepad, beaming and other tools and accessories. Like most other PDA you can also upgrade it and download additional tools and utilities to it. The HotSync feature with your PIM software (Outlook, Palm Desktop, etc) is still there (and gradually getting better). Its biggest advantages over its competitors are simple, but important.

1. IT'S IN COLOR!!! For those of us who grew up in the "Gameboy generation" users will quickly come to appreciate it's easy-to-read color screen and you'll save yourself a few trips to the optometrist this way. Previous generations of PDA (and most current ones) are still on small screens (or even bigger screens) that are black and white and still difficult to read. Readability is not an issue for the m130.

2. Built in lithium batteries. No more Energizer or Duracel worries as this babies basically like a cell phone with Lithium batteries that are easily rechargeable, like your cell...

If you are looking for a fairly inexpensive, high-quality PDA, this is a good start.

Highly Recommended
