Summary: What market is this geared towards?
Review: This replaced my Handspring Prism which I loved. There are a few 'extras' with the M130 but the screen is small, it is very slow (compared to my Prism) and the font is not as clear. I want my Prism back! If you are a first time/occassional user buy it, you will love it. However; if you have had a PDA before....don't buy this one. Even the IIIc was better! That was my very first PDA. The Prism was my 2nd (and best) and the M130 is was a replacement for an extended warranty for my Prism when it was purchased, but it is WAY beyond par.

Summary: Great PDA
Review: I bought an m130 a few months ago and find it to be very handy. I can slip my SD memory card into the side and view pictures I took with my digital camera. The color is great too. The only con is that the stylus doesn't always work around the very edges of the screen.

Summary: Couldn't Live Without It!!
Review: I've had my m130 for a year now, and still love it. I really couldn't live without it. With the expansion card slot, I am able to have many programs on it, and barely eat into the card's memory. I love the color screen. It fits perfeclty into my hand when I use it, and also fits great in my pocket.

It has held up very well over the past year, and still works great. It doesn't have all the features of the new Zire 71 (which I'd probably get if I was buying a new PDA today), but it's got everything that I need - schedule, sync. with MS Outlook, color screen, great games and software available, and a good amount of software that comes with the unit.

I highly recommend it!

Summary: Great Electronic
Review: This is one of my favorite Palm Handhelds. The color screen is a big plus, and the easy to use features make it great for people frequently on the go (businesspeople, teachers, salespeople, etc.) and this is definitely an improvement over previous models. Not only is the screen viewable, but it is clear and simple to use with the given pointer. I have recommended this to friends and they all loved it. I recommend all to buy it, and if not, try using it beforehand at a store - you won't regret it.

Summary: don't waste your money
Review: I bought this a a x-mas gift for my husband. It worked great for the first month or so, but then froze up and has not worked since. A waste of money.

Summary: Perfect little buddy for school
Review: This is my first PDA device ever. I purchased the m130 and the folding Palm Keyboard. They both make my life so much easier. The software that is included lets me write and edit essays for class. I bought the upgrade for the Dataviz software, and it's much better than the one that comes with it. I am constantly working on my papers wherever I go. I also bought the PrintBoy software which allows me to print directly from the Palm using the IR. I can't tell you how much this little thing has helped me. The next program I get for it will be Student 4.0. Excellent buy at an excellent price.

Summary: Good color handheld, good value...
Review: I've had the Palm m130 Color Handheld for about a year now and I must say I'm quite please with it. When it first came out, I was excited that Palm finally came out with a handheld that had a color screen that was, at the time a little less than three hundred. At the time the m515 and m505, its competitors, were around five hundred.
This is my first handheld and I consider it very easy to use. Though the manual provided with the m130 was no help at all, I really didn't need it.
Here are the pros and cons with the m130:

Pros:
* Absolutely beautiful and bright color display.
* User friendly. This is not a complicated unit to use. It doesn't have any fancy features or feaures that only a computer whiz would know.
* Palm OS. Palm OS seems to be the somewhat stardard as far as OS for handhelds, so therefore finding free software on the net to download to your unit is easy. You won't have to really buy those expensive programs.
* Tons of accessories. Since this is of the m100 series, you can purchase the same accessories as you would for the m100, m125, etc. Most of the time you don't have to buy accessories that are made specifically for the m130.

Cons:
* The backlight stays lit. Though this is a feature I liked at first because unlike the m515 or m505, you don't have to keep turning the light on to see the screen, I quickly found out this can drain the battery after minimal use.
* It's hard to to take off the faceplate. However, once you have the handheld for a while you will become a pro at taking the faceplate on and off.
* Only 8 MB of memory. Believe me once you start putting some software on this unit that 8MB will start dwindling to nothing.

Palm m130 Color Handheld is perfect for first time handheld users who want a color screen but something simple enough for storing dates, phone numbers, etc.
I know there are more advanced color handhelds with much more detailed features but this one can more than meet the challenge.

Summary: Love it -- My first Palm Handheld
Review: I recently recieved this item as an anniversary gift (I chose). I've never had a PDA before, but have used them before. I absolutely love this thing! I'm not having any problems with it at all. Many people, from what I've read, have problems with the stylus working near the edges of the screen. I'm not having any such problems (maybe I'm just lucky). I would highly recommend this, especially to people that have never had a PDA before. Very easy to master.

Summary: Great for first timers
Review: I bought my Palm M130, my first PDA. I was looking for color and memory space. I have no complaints so far. I am very satisfied with it's performance. I have received "fatal error" messages 2 times, but does not appear to have lost any data or caused any damage to my PDA, so I'm not concerned.
