Summary: More necessary than air...
Review: Well, maybe not, but close. There really isn't much to be said about Palm products that hasn't been over and over. Suffice it to say that, having graduated to the m130 after my poor, overworked m125 went belly-up, I'm delighted with its features and performance.

I went for the 125 initially because I liked the idea of using regular batteries. However, so far the 130's onboard rechargeable is behaving beautifully. I also like that the adapter socket has been moved to the cradle rather than being on the same end as the USB plug as it was previously.

I use my Palm mainly for reading--submissions to my publishing company and ebooks sent to me for review. However, I find I'm using the other functions more and more, and Palm OS has one of the nicer interfaces I've used.

Great price, and just what I need--who could ask for more?

Summary: Best note pad for inspirational thoughts !
Review: I recently bought this palm pilet and use the note pad more than anything else. I can note my thoughts as soon as they appear without having to use the keyboard at all. I can't wait to get more expansion cards. I also love the color! It's easy to see. Buy this model instead of the 515 model because the extra cost can be made up with a discounted memory card!

Summary: One of the Best Palms Ever
Review: This is one of the best Palms ever. It fits into your hand perfectly! Even though The 500 series is flat and portable I would hate to put it into my hand. Plus there is color and you can have almost unlimited memory with memory chips. What more could you want?

Summary: Only adequate for non-power users.
Review: My wife was always admiring my Palm i705 and wanted a new PDA to replace her paper daytimer. I picked up the Palm m130 for her, since the price was right and it had a nice backlit color display. I set it up for her and added a few applications she wanted (AvantGo Web clipping, Word/Excel/PowerPoint viewers, PDF reader, etc.) and she was off and running. One of the first problems I noticed was that the battery charge does not last very long (approximately 2-3 hours of usage before needing a recharge) and that there is no way to turn off the backlighting (which is probably what draws a lot of the battery juice). The second thing I noticed was that it is a little flaky at times about recognizing the stylus input on the screen. I have had to reconfigure the stylus settings for her several times now because it gets out of whack. Overall, it's a decent little PDA for the price, but I have come to expect a little better from Palm by now. This is a decent entry-level PDA, but it is definitely not for the power user.

Summary: Keeps me going
Review: I have had the M130 for 6 months now. It has actually made me more efficient with my time. And, to me, that is of extreme importance. I don't play games on it, but believe me, every meeting I attend, I have it with me. I am able to take my notes and then export them to my laptop later. I like it!

Summary: Pennsylvania
Review: I believe this is the worst piece of electronic trash and service I have purchased EVER. I would rather write my stuff with a pen and paper than use this thing. I am on my second one - first one stopped working in less than two months. I also must say that I consider myself fairly computer - savvy. That's not the problem. Customer service was not that great and it took forever to get a new one (like 3.5 weeks). Now, this one won't sync with my computer and it's giving me all kinds of errors. I write to Palm Customer service to complain about the other problem which is that the battery drains so fast, I can't be without the cradle for a day or it's useless. So, they write me to tell me what to do and it still doesn't hold a charge. The cradle to PALM connection feels so cheap - it's like you could break it by breathing on it the wrong way.

Summary: Lasted 3 Months
Review: Worked well for 3 months. Then screen ceased responding correctly to the stylus, especially lower part of screen. Sometimes adjacent letter or number responds, not the one I tapped. Sometimes won't respond at all. It now is unuseable.

Summary: It is not a computer
Review: ALthough the M130 works well, it is not a computer and would not handle the Excel spreadsheet I wanted it to (at least not with the software that came with it). Maybe I can upgrade it, but then I have already spent too much to play games.

Summary: It's everything I expected
Review: I am really enjoying having the color palm rather that the B/W version. Also the ability to add memory cards gives it great flexability.

Summary: m130 Earns Top Grade At University
Review: As a professor I try not to be absent minded.
After getting the Palm m130 I note many appointments with the alarm feature. I preset the alarm reminder to the time it takes to get across campus. The Palm m130 is also able to keep students grades and records with Documents To Go. It never locks up and has plenty of memory. The Palm m130 has earned an A with me.
