Summary: Good for starters...Otherwise a Handspring Visor is better
Review: Well, I tried the m100 for a few days and though I liked some features of it, in the end it just did not do it for me. First off though, the good points. The unit just feels sturdy, it does not creak like the older Palms and feels solid. The cutout on the flip is nice so that the time can be shown through. The shape of the unit is great, feels good when in use. And it's neat to have the option to change the faceplates. Now, onto the downside. First, there is no cradle included with the unit, just a HotSync cable. A cradle would have been nicer. The screen on the unit is 25% smaller than the regular Palms and it makes it very hard to read. The screen is also indented into the body, sometimes making the use of the scroll bars quite difficult since the stylus tends to bump into the side of the plastic face place. And although the cutout on the flip is cool at first, I didn't find it useful after the coolness factor wore off -- I'd rather look at my watch then pull out the m100 and push the up button. Overall, if you're getting started with PDAs, the m100 is a nice unit to start off with. But, if you want a little more, get a Handspring Visor. I did. I returned my m100 and got a Visor for $30. Just think, for the cost of a m100 + a m100 cradle, you'll have just paid enough for a Visor which allows for expansion via Springboard modules. The m100 is not expandable like that.

Summary: The perfect thing for the clumsy college student!
Review: I bought the M100 over the summer before my junior year in college. Just about every year I buy myself a new organizer (book) and have never found one to really fit my needs. So I bit the bullet and decided to enter the 21st century. Within the first week I was hooked. I take my palm EVERYWHERE with me! I keep all of my addresses and phone numbers in it. My entire class schedule, and I can take notes at meetings for handy access anytime. I have also found a piece of software online that allows me to track all of my classes and assignments making it easier for me to stay on top of all of my work. My biggest concern however was that apparent "flimsyness" of the unit. It just didn't feel like it could take any kind of a beating. This concern was put to bed however when (don't ask how) I dropped my precious palm 5.5 feet onto a marble floor. The flip cover snaped away (a feature, not a breaking point) and I rushed over, expecting to see a smashed ($). But no! I snapped the cover back on and it was as good as new. No problems at all. I am sure now that this can take a beating. A month into classes now and I don't know how I ever survived without one! If you're concidering buying one, do it! You won't regret it!

Summary: How did I ever live without it!
Review: I love my new Palm m100! If you have a busy life and need to get yourself organized, this is the product for you! I used to carry around a month/day/year at a glance calendar, pocket calculator, address book and a big stack of various business cards. Now, all I need is the Palm m100. It was so easy to use, right out of the box! I use my PC to enter all my info and then HotSync to the Palm m100, it only takes a few seconds to keep my constantly changing schedules on track. I HotSync both at home and at the office which keeps all my info updated with ease. I purchased the BodyGlove case with the cut out window for the time/date display and I use the alarm feature to remind me of conference calls and meetings so I'm always on time. I resisted buying a Palm PDA until now because of the price. I just couldn't afford it. But at this price, everyone should get one. The screen size is more than adequate and I'm able to adjust the size of the display font as well as the contrast. The backlight feature works well for quick looks in a dimly lit theatre or restaurant. This is a great product, well worth the money. I don't know how I ever got by without one.

Summary: First class and fun
Review: The m100 is a great little piece of technology. After owning and living with my m100 for a week I must say that I will never be without it. The small size lets me put in almost any pocket without problem. The Graffiti writing recognition program is excellent. After a few days with the m100 I was writing notes intuitively without having to stop and think about what stroke each letter was. The note pad feature is great. As a teacher I often have to jot down the names of students or comments and this feature makes it easy without the possibility of losing the scrap of paper I used. The 2mb memory may become limiting at some time but many aftermarket 8mb upgrades are available should the need arise. Also the lack of flashROM support may inconvienence those who use this feature on other Palms. All in all this unit is wonder and is now my new best friend.

Summary: A great starter PDA - More than adequate for beginners
Review: More than adequate for the beginner. I got one for my dad who has always shied away from computers in general and within 15 days he was telling me how great it was. A great intro to electronic PDA for newbies. It was so useful , I am thinking of getting one myself. On the flip side, do not get the flip leather case, the flap does not close properly - some redesign required. Also the cover on the unit itself does not latch shut so watch out for the cover flipping open. Overall a great value for the money.

Summary: Great for college students (i.e. cheating)
Review: I just got this m100 about 2 weeks ago. It's my very first Palm. What got me interested in this was the price and how stylish it is. When I first got it, I spent 2 hours playing with it (storing data and such) and realized how easy it is to use! I am an entertainer, contract bartender, movie extra, FT University student and a traveler so it's very tidy to store all data and schoolwork dues. In the "Memo" I store all Chemistry equations and look at it during tests (great for a class that requires a calculator, professor wouldn't know you were cheating!). While waiting for the school shuttle, I read the news that I had downloaded ... that morning. When I go to my friends house on the weekend and such, he keeps calling and calling the movie theather for times. Not to worry, I have it downloaded. I do have problems directing my stylus to the appropriate arrows on the top left sometimes, but I think it's because I am lefthanded or I am not holding it steady enough. Other than that it's great. I can't wait to get my Body Glove cover in BLUE and BLACK! Awesome!

Summary: Great product!
Review: I've had my m100 for a mere five days now. Although I've used electronic organizers in the past, this is my first experience with a Palm-type product. I couldn't be more pleased. I've read some of the complaints, and share none of them. The m100 was easy to use out of the box, and has already become my constant companion. For my needs (as a college professor, musician, and public speaker), I cannot imagine what else I would want the thing to do, except perhaps brew my tea and pour my cereal in the morning. It's a great product. Buy it!

Summary: Graet Buy, Definitely Recommend!!!
Review: This is the best Palm out yet. The Palm 100 is all you need for the average person's daily needs. Though not expandable. It has plenty of room for games like Galaxa, Black Jack, etc. Also installed on my Palm M100 is the NYC subway map, Tip Calculator, Expense Tracker and lots of neat stuff available on the internet for free.

The Palm M100 screen is a tad small, but is definitely usable. I am not reading or writing the Constitution on my Palm. In fact the screen on my Palm M100 is clear as glass compared to ther older Palm's with their gritty plastic screen like surfaces.

The synch cable that comes with the Palm M100 instead of the cradle is only a keeping up with the Jones' personal attribute of an individual. The synch cable that comes with the Palm M100 more than suffices for all that it is needed for which is the transfer of information from your desktop PC to your Palm M100.

I definitely recommend the Palm M100 for its easier to hold contour grip shape that is naturally more comfortable to hold than other straight edged models which I beleive prevents unnecessary drops and facilitates easier writing. The weight of the Palm M100 is considerably less than all the other Palm's my fellow co-workers have. I love the flip over pad like front cover.

Buy it, you won't regret it. I don't need a Palm to surf the internet, make purchases or execute stock trades. The Palm M100 is the best model for me and the price is terrific, right on target. Keeps all the information that I need on a day to day basis for my work and personal needs. I think it is also the most attractive of Palms. You can also change the face plate colors, if you're one of those types who feels the need to personalize all your possessions.
