Summary: IF it's your first handheld, this is the one
Review: I never had a handheld before and didn't know if it was right for me. So, I decided to get into the market with the least expensive one. I have NOT been disappointed. I've had the m100 for a week and have already left my Franklin Planner behind (the heavy nuisance now just rests in my office.) The m100 handles my To Do's and Appointments quite well. I can enter them directly into the m100 or into my PC which I then "hot link" to the m100 by pushin a button on the included cable. The included software is on a CDROM and installs easily onto the PC. The synchronization between your PC and the m100 is easy and flawless. The only thing this doesn't do so well is taking notes at meetings. With the Franklin planner, you write notes as you go; here you will have to carry a small writing pad (it is difficult to take notes on the m100 unless you've become some kind of expert with Graffiti, the letter recognition software). But trust me, I'd rather carry the small m100 and a small pad for note taking than the Franklin Planner anytime. In short, easy to use, convenient, and flawless operation.

Summary: Good buy
Review: The m100 is a good replacement for the bulky paper organizers. It is compact and has most of the functions required to organize your day to day activities.

Down side: No expense utility and the cover is too delicate.

Summary: The m100 rocks! Buy it now! You won't regret it
Review: The palm m100 is an awesome handheld. It is the most customizable palm pilot ever made! It is so cool! 1. The new design is comfortable 2. The clock feature is so cool (you can press a scroll button when the palm is off, and the clock turns on for 5 seconds and is visible through a window on the cover 3. The notepad feature is so cool. It lets you write directly on to the screen! In your own handwriting! 4. The cover flips over the palm, instead of having to take it off, and put it back on. 5. It is smaller than most palms, with a sharper screen.(If you click on the picture of the m100 above, the actual thing is a bout the same size as the screen of the picture)

This is why the m100 is so good. It is perfect for me, and when i dont wanna write in the palm language, i can jot it down on the notepad! I take it with me everywhere! It looks slick and its really cheap for what you get. Buy It, and you will agree! Especially for a 2mb palm, it is better than the Palm V because its more flexible and you can customize it(you can replace the faceplates with color ones wich looks awesome, and you can remove the cover.) BUY IT!

Summary: thumbs up
Review: I've used Palm PDA's for 4 years now (I began with the PalmPilot Personal - 512kb), PalmPilot Pro, Palm III, V and now Palm m100; I carry it everywhere!, they're really awesome and so useful.. their strenght resides in their simplicity.. and believe me,2mb is more than enough! (I consider myself an average user) If you need more memory, color, Internet, fancy software, "expansion slots", MP3 player, r you need to write a novel, buy a laptop! , so my advice to anyone looking for a Palm PDA or clone is: stick with the simpler (cheaper) ones (IIIe, m100) becouse: 1)these things keep changing-evolving very fast, in a couple of years (even before you fill your 2mb +3500 address entries) you will be ableto buy a newer entry-model with 32mb :) for the same price..and still your total cost will be less than buying a $300+ model now 2)Carrying one *everywhere* exposes them to many things and replacing a $300+ Palm is painful. (i learned that the hard way he). 3)You will be able to do the SAME than wthe other models. of course you won't be able to see your phone numbers in color or download a 4mb e-book but..who really does? those things are not practical anyway.. I think the whole point is, Palm should keep them cheap and simple.. like the m100 IIIe

Summary: Buy this product!!!!!!!!
Review: This is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. It will completely change your life. If you are getting a case for it, buy the lower end ones as there is sufficient covering with the flip top, however some minor protection would not hurt for transport. Highly recommended.

Summary: I love my m100!!
Review: I've been researching for about 6 months before deciding which one to get- a handspring visor or a palm pilot... When the new palm m100 came out, I made my decision.Being a college student- price and trendy-ness is essential, and since I love technology... this product has it all in one! My life is in my palm- addresses, schedules, notes, to do lists, finances, everything I used to put in my bulky 5lb planner is in this little gadget that is sooo easy to use. I sync it to avantgo everyday and get the latest news and trivia, the games have me hooked (Go Solarwars and Arbitrage!)I just LOVE IT! The only drawbacks I see are the smaller screen and the 2mb memory... but overall- its a GREAT BUY for anyone wanting to simplify their lives. A must for all college students!

Summary: Watch out for glitches - poor Palm customer support
Review: The negative experience I've had with Palm's tech "support" has really tainted my overall experience with the m100. There are a number of glitches with my unit that no one in customer care was able to resolve, and tech support is only available via e-mail (e-mail, for a tech problem!?). Its sad that Palm's dominant market share has enabled them to be so lax when it comes to customer support. Order the m100 only if you're sure you'll never need to use their tech assistance dept. Also, keep in mind that the m100 doesn't come with e-mail synchronization software; you have to buy that separately.

Summary: A Price Break!
Review: This smaller, lighter and sleeker unit does everything my Palm III can do, except email (I never used it), for at least $100 less. The unit runs all the great (and generally free) Palm programs and the diminished memory is unlikely to pose a problem for 99% of users. Processor speed seems better, and legibility is improved. My only regret: the cable which replaces the cradle is serial port only; a USB cable would have been lots easier.

Summary: I saw it, I bought it, I'm lovin' it!
Review: This is the best for the person on the go or someone who has a mobile office. Unlike some of the more advanced Palm models, this model is alkaline battery operated, making it a real plus when I need to sync data in my car with my laptop. The more advanced models which have an electric cradle require a power supply to charge and sync. The m100 needs only the sync cord. It's super for those who want to travel lite. I've heard others report of difficulty with the m100 cover. I removed it in favor of an accessory case. The price on this one is REALLY great. You don't have to break the bank to get re-organized. At this price, the fact that it is not upgradeable is irrelevant! By the time I need an upgrage, I'll probably want a newer model anyway!

Summary: for & against
Review: I bought this together with a compaq laptop. FOR: - my first palm. it's really handy compared to my bulky paper organizer - the shape fits nicely AGAINST: - found out that my laptop doesn't have serial port anymore, only USB port. must return to the store for the USB connector. if the future of laptop is no more serial port, palm should supply the usb port. - no email synch, but there are "NOTE PAD" and "MEMO PAD". what's the difference between those 2? should just keep the email
