Rating: Summary: Good Entry Level Product Review: ...I use it to read documents and books converted into the Palm format.Palm m100 looks pretty nice. The m100 is great for people who don't want to buy one of the more expensive Palms. The Palm m100 have most of the features that the other Palms have. The alarm feature is really useful to alert you of something due on your schedule. The notepad feature isn't all that great though. The screen is smaller than the usual Palm and really isn't comfortable when trying to jot something down. The cover that comes with the m100 is different than used before. You can rotate it all the way to the to the back of the Palm which is really nice. As mentioned before the screen of m100 isn't very big, and this is noticeable if you've used an earlier model Palm. A lot of people are using Palms for reading texts, as eBook. The screen is too small to read comfortable...
Rating: Summary: I love my Palm Review: I am glad I bought the m100. I thought that I might regret not getting a higher model, but the m100 does the job. Adding games/programs is easy, hot Syncing is easy, and it is very user friendly. I threw away my paper planner (which couldn't beep to remind me about appointments) and use the Palm exclusively. It is sturdy, and the flip-top is cool. If you are debating the m100, or V, or IIIxe, and you aren't a big-shot corporate type, get the m100 and save yourself some money.
Rating: Summary: comfortable, functional, inexpensive Review: I have just converted fron a Psion to the palm about two months ago, and - I love it! The main complaint of most people (build quality) is right: Palm could have easily done better. Other than that, here are my pros & cons. (+) it's compact & inexpensive, so you do not have to think twice before slipping it into your pants or shirt pocket. I previously owned a palm pilot personal and the difference in size and weight is noticable - carrying the personl (or the Revo) was annoying after an hour or two, I now carry the m100 all day and hardly notice it. (+) hotsync: if you use outlook caledar, do not even consider a psion. Their synchronization software is stone age compared to hotsync & pocketMirror (all included in the box). (+) batteries: a matter of personal taste I guess, but I like using a couple of AAA's for a month and than just buy new ones which can be found everywhere better than worrying about taking a charger with me when I travel. (+) 360 degrees hinge flip cover - the most functional cover I have seen so far: it's thin, sturdy, and can flip open using one hand. (*) my favorite add ons: 1) minicalc - a commercial spredsheet app. that syncs nicely with exell. 2) thinkDB - a commercial 'database' app with customizable forms & filtering. (-) MIA's: e-mail sync., spelling checker, display pixel count. voice recording. (-) RAM Size: 2MB becomes marginal with the add on apps mentioned above. Had to remove AvantGo :( I'll take a star for memory size and build quality - but I never regret buying it!
Rating: Summary: Palm M-100 a great little pda Review: I bought my palm back at the end of September and I really enjoy it.It has adequate memory for what I use it for and it helps keep me organized.I downloaded some games, an exercise tracker, a program called mapopolis in which you can put city maps on it.I enjoy the notepad feature where you can jot down things. All in all this is a very handy little pda for those who don't need one with a lot of memory and I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: This PDA is my little buddy Review: I'm a busy IT person, and this little guy keeps me orgainized. From remembering network addresses to when it's my mom's birthday. It only has 2 megs of memory, but, for what I will use it for, is more than enough. Easy to use interface, excellent sync software, I had this little guy up and running in 15 minutes. Downloaded a great chess game, and I'm happy. The flip cover I feel is somewhat cheap. And that is the only negative thing about this unit. Buy one. You'll like it.
Rating: Summary: A great choice Review: The Palm m100 is a great handheald. I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy something that can really help them keep organized. You can use it as an assignment book for school, and it is also great for games. There are thousands of games, free and purchasable, on the internet which you can download and install into the palm. Of course, it would be better if it had a little more memory, because with only 2mb, you cannot have all the programs you want installed at one time.
Rating: Summary: This is so cool! Review: The Palm M100 is great. After I downloaded and bought Iambic's TinySheet3 spreadsheet from their website...I find myself doing a lot my business on my Palm realtime instead of taking ton's of notes and then waiting until I get back to my desk. Even with two meg's the M100 combined with smart software like Iambic's makes business run smoother.
Rating: Summary: AMAZED Review: I was a little skeptical that an organizer so small boasted so many features. I have used previous electronic organizers before and stopped using them due to complicated use. I then used the traditional paper organizer and it became to bulky to carry around. So after looking at the Handspring Visor and Palm M100, I decided to go with the Palm. I was told to get the Visor due to the expandability of the unit. The PALM comes with 2MB which should be more than enough for someone that does not have appointments all day long. So getting the item I unpacked it from the box and within minutes I had it up and running. I then hooked the synch cable to my laptop and installed the desktop software. So within a hour of openeing the box, I had the unit running and my entire dayplanner entered as well as some website info so that I can download website pages daily. I love the size, how easy it to use. I love being able to carry it around with my sport schedules right there. I have ordered an extra faceplate and an extra USB cable for my PC at work. LOVE IT!!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent option for an inexpensive palm device! Review: I just got this unit two weeks ago and it is fantastic. It is my first Palm and I am very pleased with it so far. It does everything the bigger Palms do - slightly smaller screen to the others but for me that is not noticeable. The screen has an excellent resolution - sharp and crisp. The backlighting is terrific for low light conditions. Syncing it to your desktop is as easy as pushing a single button. This unit comes with a Hot Sync cable that plugs in the bottom of the Palm (recessed and out of the way for carrying it around) and the Hot Sync button is on the cable. I would recommend this for anyone who is interested in getting into Palms but does not want to fork out big bucks to get started.
Rating: Summary: Great for Everyone! Review: This device is wonderful. I'm a college student who thoughtthat [the price] was too much to spend on an organizer. I had bought several Day-Runner type organizers in the past which only end up discarded at the bottom of a box in my room. The two best things about this product are: 1. The size. It's so easy to carry in a pocket or purse (if you own one . . . being a guy, I don't!) 2. Hot-synch. This is the company's term for backing up all data on a real-life computer. While lots of different companies now do this with their PDA's, Palm is a trusted company with a proven track record. Not to mention, they came up with it first. Having records on the computer is the best thing about this product. You can even restore all records if something happens to your Palm (God forbid! ). That's convenient. There are many other things that are great about this product. You can download lots of great programs onto this product. You can get the New York Times for free daily! Solitaire anyone? How about some daily jokes or quotes? All of these things are accessible with your Palm AND you don't have to carry any extra things! Other PDA's may be able to expand more, but I always like to have a brand name when it comes to things that play such an important part in your life.
