Rating: Summary: Beware of MultiMedia expansion cards Review: I made a mistake with "others also bought" link on this page. The SimpleTech Multimedia card will not store MP3's. Be sure to get a Secure Digital card for songs !
Rating: Summary: Marvelous, Brilliant, Spectacular! Review: First and foremost, the color on the Tungsten E is wonderful. This handheld is a major attention-bringer. The processor is much faster than that of the m130 that I was considering. The sound is better than I thought it would be. I've had no major problems with the handheld itself. This was my second handheld (after the Palm IIIc) and I love it. I won't be buying another handheld until this one goes out. Did I mention that the color is dazzling? The operating system is very intuitive, and anyone (even no-techies) can learn to use it. Everything fits together wonderfully, and it looks great (I love the silver metallic finish). In short, if you're thinking about buying a Palm Tungsten E, go for it! You won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Excellent PDA Review: O.K. This is the first PDA I've owned, however, I have tinkered with and used many others belonging to friends and family. I am incredibly impressed. What I don't understand is the annoying noises that others have written about. Mine is completely silent unless I choose it not to be. I've had no problems with it at all, and customer support is there if you need them. I had to call once because I was having problems hotsyncing it the first time, but they had the problem solved within five minutes. It's a little pricy, but well worth it. In fact, I'm going out and buying one for my husband for Christmas. Excellent work, Palm.
Rating: Summary: This gadget is good! Review: It really is. After coming out with a flop model (Tungsten W) palm has done it right this time! This beautifully designed PDA has it all. Looks, Power and of course the price. The design is elegant, screen resolution is brilliant and Palm OS is powerful. The battery seems to last longer than the older versions (Palm m130). The down side for owners of older models is that this model does not have "palm universal connector" which was being marketed in the older series, so any accessories that one was using with some older model will no longer be worth holding on to! It would be wise to invest in a 64 MB or greater multimedia card if the aim is to enjoy MP3s. All in all, this PDA deserves nothing less than five stars. It is not possible to get this much form, function and power for this price in today's market. Way to go Palm.
Rating: Summary: This Baby ROCKS!!! Review: Upgraded from an m130 to the Tungsten E and I couldn't be happier! The screen display is absolutely incredible, and the other features and software that come with it make it an incredibly good buy. Love to listen to mp3's, has great amount of memory (4x that on the m130), and comes with a great software bundle. I just got mine a few weeks ago, and Palm seems to have worked out some of the problems that were expereinced in the early ones - I have had no problems whatsover. I got it from Circuit City where you can try stuff out for 30 days and return it if not happy. It's a great way to try something out to see if it is really for you, and be able to return it with no hassles if you want to. This is an excellent PDA at an excellent price!
Rating: Summary: Beautifully designed PDA! Review: This is my first Palm and I am glad I waited for this one. The sleek lines of the metallic case are very pleasing and stylish. It feels good and solid in the hand. The color screen is bright and very attractive. I am not a fan of Graffiti but the virtual keyboard is fine as an alternative. The included software package is solid, particularly Documents To Go which really makes this a standout device in my opinion. For protection, I have opted for the Innopocket metal case with molded neoprene lining designed for the Tungsten E. Although I am using this device almost exclusively for my real estate business, it is a lot of fun to use. My overall opinion is that Palm has established an important milestone with its introduction of the Tungsten E for the budget minded professional.
Rating: Summary: Thank you, thank you, thank you Review: Those thanks go out to Palm for putting out a good looking, good quality, good functionality PDA. My Palm V died and I cringed while contemplating Clie's (when else I have ever faulted Sony for hideous design I cannot remember). Luckily Palm launched the E and I bought one on the first day. Tried and true, Palm comes through yet again.
Rating: Summary: Great value, but poor design Review: On the whole I like this unit. But I am a little disappointed about a few things. Firstly, the casing picks up dirt and fingerprints, incredibly easily. Even worse, the supplied flip cover actually scratches the front of the unit! So a hard case is essential if you want to keep your Palm in pristine condition. Another problem is that the "down" button on the control pad is very stiff and unresponsive, and this is simply down to bad design. Inexcusible. Finally, the sound quality suffers dreadfully from whining sounds when the stylus touches the screen, and a faint clicking sound every few seconds (as mentioned in a previous review). This really detracts from listening to MP3s in headphones for me. But it's not all negative- the screen is incredible, and the machine is plenty fast for everything I do. It looks nice, and has all the good things that make Palm so easy to use (although it lacks the universal connector for expansion). On the whole I like it- I was just disappointed with the design quality, compared to my old Palm Vx (which still looks like new!).
Rating: Summary: Impressed Review: I am a physician and previously used a Palm Vx (until the battery died). I have been impressed with the high resolution color screen and the additional utilities. The Tungsten E comes with Documents-to-go software for Word/Excel/Powerpoint files and Photo viewing software which are extremely user-friendly. I anticipated having to struggle to set these programs up, but they worked on my first attempt. I have been using the Tungsten E for the last month and still very happy with my decision.
Rating: Summary: Great Product, I looked at everything else 1st Review: Decided the Tungsten E was the way to go...doc sharing out with excel out of the box, easy connect with Outlook. As a long time Microsoft user, I wanted Windows for my next PDA, but seeing all the features, there was no reason to buy anything else. I really liked the design of the Clie, but EVERY store I went to look at them, every on wouldn't power on, but the tungsten right next to it always did! This is a great product...I was even happily supprised to find out the USB interface also (trickle) charges the battery (don't need to carry the AC adapter around with me if I need to charge at home).
