Rating: Summary: Good, good... Review: I'm a medicine student in São Paulo, Brazil and I've been using my Zire 71 for 1 year. I've got no complains about the product itself. It's 13mb of memory aren't enough if you are a heavy user (as I am), but a memory card can solve this problem (I've got a 128mb card and it isn't full yet, even after 1 year of use).
I'm running Zlauncher and Documents to Go and the pda never (and I mean NEVER) crashed. I can put all my medicine books inside the pda (most of then as iSilo databases) and read it anywhere. The screen is somewhat sensitive and it scratches if you are not careful (or if you don't use a protection plastic).
The camera doesn't take good pictures but it is really useful to capture some images (saw and interesting X-ray image? You can take a picture of it and see it again later). You can't use as you use other digital cameras. Come on, it's not a Sony Cybershot but it can be useful sometimes.
I once had a problem with the internal speaker of the device and the technical support was perfect. Believe me, a good technical support is something you don't see everyday in Brazil. It took only 10 days to get the palm back fixed (and that's really fast for a brazilian customer).
Why not a five stars rating?
The software package is poor. Documents to Go should be inside EVERY pda that wants to be taken as a serious portable computer. It lacks a good file manager too (and Zlauncher has a good one inside). The camera should be better, etc. It is, also, a bit expensive in Brazil (I payed about R$1800 on it, that's almost US$600!).
