Rating: Summary: Quality is not good Review: Agreeing with other reviewers, I have found the quality to be really bad on this phone. People I call are constantly asking me to speak up - it sounds like I am calling people from Mars. The buttons are too small and many times they do not "beep" correctly - an annoyance especially when I am calling into phone trees (you know the ones, press 1 then press 2). I am so sorry I bought this phone. What a waste of money!
Rating: Summary: Easy phone to hook up anywhere in your house. Review: i needed a multi-handset multi-line phone system for my home. the obvious first choice was the siemens gigaset, the unit that seems to start this whole multi-handset thing. but i also wanted to setup a wireless computer network (which runs on 2.4GHz as does the gigaset). this forced me to look for 900mhz systems. i was please to learn about the phonemate since it seems to be the only 900mhz multi-handset multi-line system. i bought it. we just hated the system. the sound was horrible. constant cheap-cordless-phone hiss on all extensions. proximity to the base made no difference. everyone who i called or who called me complained about the bad sound quality. in the end, i returned it and bought the siemens 2404 gigaset system (which cost exactly the same at the time). now that i have the gigaset, i realize how badly the phonemate system was implemented and how clumsy it was to interact with. i did have to give up my plans for a wireless network, but i need a phone more than being able to do email on my deck.

Rating: Summary: Good price, a few flaws Review: I was attracted to the unit because of its cost, especially compared to the the Brother and Siemen's units. Aside from the issues brought up in other reviews, it has a poor microphone. People I call typically ask me to speak louder when I use the handsets. However, even with its flaws, the ability to put handsets all over the house that are connected together is too much to pass up for the price.
Rating: Summary: I WOULD SUGGEST YOU SAVE THE CASH, AND AVOID A LOT OF GRIEF Review: Less than a year ago we purchased a pair of the Casio MA240's, also at a deep discount price that could not be published. These phones are just plain Junk! Costly yes, but still Junk. So "Put the credit card down and step away from the computer" Problems are many and they start early in the phones life. Problems such as > Volume gets lower and lower as time goes by. The number pad buttons either stick, or dont make any tones at all. Batteries lose all memory in a short period of time, and on top of that , it can be a little complicated to figure out many of the extra features. The best advice I can give you at this time is good luck finding a phone that will last more than a year as we have bought phones that range in price from 19.99 to 300.00 ( for pair) and they all seem to decay and stop functioning within a years time. We purchased our phones new, not reconditioned, and we surely never expected them to go bad, this quick.

Rating: Summary: Don't Buy, Even if Discounted Review: Now I know why the product was on sale, cheaper than the cost of a handset for the system. Range seemed OK although never really tested the full range of the unit. Speaker volume was decreased as previously noted. Battery life can be incredibly short. Truly annoying problem was that our other cordless phones seemed to malfunction periodically (never a problem previously), it would somehow misdial numbers constantly and we would have to revert to the other phones to complete the calls. Bought several of the systems and they are all going back. Should have checked out the reviews previously.
Rating: Summary: Could have been better Review: The two line, multiple headset capability drew me to this unit. The price is good compared with the Siemans gigaset, but the designers skimped in a few useful areas. The first is the memory. The unit's address book holds only 10 permanent one touch numbers which is far too few. The CID memory hold about 30 numbers which is better. Second the CID display is only 2 lines so it doesn't show both the ID and the phone number on one screen. There is a cumbersome scrolling procedure but they should have just added a third line to the display like my Sony. Finally, the setup and use of the phone is far too complicated. I have experience with setting up phones and other elctronic equipment, yet this set up challenged me. Overall just a cumbersome model but the price is right and the multiple headset feature is attractive.
