Rating: Summary: Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing Review: I bought this phone for my home office. I had a Panasonic I really liked, but it was lacking a mute button. Since I work from home, I spend quite alot of time on conference calls, using the speakerphone. I wanted to have a mute button so I could do things while listening. The speakerphone on this phone is AWFUL. It fades in and out, making it virtually impossible to hear what's going on, even with maximum volume. Don't waste your money!
Rating: Summary: You get what you pay for Review: I have had this phone for about a year and a half. It's not a bad phone, works solidly, and you can't beat the price. Would I get it now? Definitely not. My issues with this phone:
1) Button response is slow (Can't press "on" and immediately dial a number, for instance).
2) No voice mail indicator.
3) No headset speakerphone.
4) Unit ships with NiCd battery, which dies faster than you can sneeze. I bought a NiMH battery from Staples and it's been fine ever since.
5) Looks aren't as nice as some other phones, it's also a bit larger and heavier than most.
6) Range could be better.
Rating: Summary: Terrible phone Review: Low volume, constant static, extremely poor range. This phone is a waste of money.
Rating: Summary: Poor quality phone Review: Phone looks nice on the box, but performance was awful.
Rating: Summary: Phoneuser Review: Reception is terrible - lots of interference. Battery life is just awful. Lasted about 1.5 hrs when first bought, now, 4 months later, lasts 30 min. BIG WASTE OF MONEY.
Rating: Summary: Phoneuser Review: The description states that the phone has an answering system. It does not. It also has limited ringtone options making it very difficult to distiguish between the two lines. Other than that it's great.

Rating: Summary: Disappointing phone Review: The V-Tech 20-2438 has an attractive array of features at a reasonable price, but the performance of this phone is extremely poor. Practically speaking, the most important aspect of any telephone is its audio quality, and this model fails by any measure (static, poor reception, echoes, slow dialing and distortions). It was a disappointment because we were replacing another VTech model (900mhz model VT 2931) which was comparatively excellent in sound quality and range, if a bit outdated with a telescoping antenna (which cracked and rendered the entire phone useless).
Rating: Summary: low price low quality Review: You get a lot of phone for 66$ unfortunatly the sound quality is EXTREMLY poor.I have used Vtech products in the past and was always very pleased. Vtech needs to get back on track and stop trying to be a low price leader. skip this one!
