Uniden's DXAI5188-2 cordless phone system offers a wealth of benefits--5.8 GHz analog technology, an integrated digital answering machine, caller ID and call waiting capability, as well as an additional handset. Still, the DXAI5188-2 requires only one phone jack for operation. Simply plug the main base unit into a phone jack, and the extra handset will configure itself to "talk" wirelessly with the base unit. The base unit also houses the digital answering system. All call features are accessed through the phone system's handsets, including last number redial, call transfer between handsets, and convenient volume control. Each handset has a three-line backlit LCD for displaying caller information and for access to saved numbers, both of which are available even while you're taking another call. Information and menus can be displayed in your choice of English, French, or Spanish. Handsets are also compatible with most hearing aids and headsets (sold separately).
