Summary: Good Setup
Review: Bought this set for my folks (elderly) for Christmas. Was told in other reviews the call list wasn't shared by the other unit, this is not so with the ones I just purchaced. Speaker phone is loud and clear, good for elderly, The bright display is easy to see and read. Handset size is easy to hold on to,not to big or not to small. Good clear signal all over the house,no fuzz outs or drop in signal in 2 story private house. Has Nimh AAA batteries, easy to find in electronic stores to replace when needed and very long talk time. Draw back, can't add more handsets,will only support 2 with this base. If you want more phones of this type,you would need a different model. Very pleased.

Review: Excellent phones. Clear sound, lots of programmable features. My speakerphone is usable in a quiet room, but volume doesn't go very high. Uses standard AAA NiMH batteries, recharges them when placed back in the cradle. Has a "locate phone" button on the main cradle; handset rings until you find it.

Summary: Overall, good purchase
Review: I agree with most of the previous reviewers so I'll try not to repeat what they have said.
I am pleased that these phones use NiMH batteries (three in each phone) which are much superior to NiCad batteries. NiMH batteries hold more charge, don't have memory effect, and are easily replaceable.
The recepting range of the phones is very far so it can be used outside.
One major annoying of this phone is that you can hear yourself talking occassionally -- and turning the volume down doesn't help sometimes. Also, transferring a call to the other handset is a little complicated. Besides that these phones are great.

Summary: Surprisingly good
Review: I got these after using my brother's set, which he compared favorably to his expensive Siemens system. I've been very pleasantly suprised. I just got fed up when my Panasonic 900mhz (which a famous Consumer publication recommends) needed a battery replacement, when I had just replaced the expensive battery a year ago. (As a sidenote, I was frustrated that the publication also said to keep the phones always in the charger base, while the Panasonic manual said to always wait until the recharge light came on before returning it to the base. Ugh.) These Vtech phones surprised me by meeting my needs.1. They're just the right size. The Panasonic I had was too large and heavy to clip to a belt and use a headset with. These phones come with one belt clip on the phone, and they are small and light enough to be comfortable there. They have a standard headset jack, too. 2. I actually really like the color scheme. That may sound silly, but the off white and pale blue are cheerful and muted, and they fit in any room, as opposed to the color schemes that dominate cordless phones, which are usually cheap white, overly serious black, or some sort of Nike sneaker boom box multicolored silliness that seems more appropriate for a 9 year old boy. 3. The lcd screen works well, and it's great to program numbers (simple and intuitive, by the way) into one, and have them automatically show up on the other handset. It holds plenty of numbers. For families where they want to put one unit upstairs in a kid's room, the intercom feature is valuable, too. 4. They take standard inexpensive rechargeables, and so far, after two months of use, I haven't yet had one go out on me, even during 2 hour conversations. Also, even if one did, you can always switch to the other set. In addition, I like the fact that you always put it back on the base -- i.e. the instructions are clear. The base is quite small, and I was surprised how nice it was to clear that room on my kitchen counter, which had been taken up by a large Panasonic base in which the phone lay horizontally. 5. It's amazing how nice it is to have one set not need a phone jack. It's not just that you can put it in a stairwell or bathroom, but it's nice to put one in a room with a jack, but in a different place than the jack: say, in a more convenient place in the bedroom, or near a computer but not have to worry about connecting to the modem jack or something awkward. 6. Volume control. I don't know how to rate sound quality: I don't think about that while I'm on the phone. What I do think about is volume, since on phones I've had before, sometimes people sound too loud or too soft. Both units have convenient volume controls on the side. 7. Spread spectrum. I had been neglecting the fact that my analog 900mhz (and even digital non-spread-spectrum) phone can be listened in to by any neighbor with a cheap Radio Shack police scanner. Maybe you don't care. I actually have a creepy neighbor who has a whole lot of electronics stuff all over his place, and I'm happy this phone is harder to monitor. 8. I experience no interference from my neighbor's wireless network. So far I've had nothing disappoint me with the phone, but I'll update this review in the future as things come up. I will say that sometimes the unit is a bit hot when you first take it off the recharge base, but this hasn't bothered me.

Summary: Great Reception
Review: I live in a area where I am almost completely surrounded by radio towers. That said my previous cordless phone would not work in any room except the one which housed the base and I live in a apartment. The VTech however works in my whole apartment and down the hall in the laundry room. The kids love the intercom feature, no more hollering from room to room. At first I thought I wouldn't like the colors, but I like them much better than the black phone we had before. I thought it was good that you can change the ring tone and set a different one for the intercom and phone--this way I'm not rushing to the phone if its just my hubby who I'm sure doesn't want anything :) Also, I love teh flashing light for the messages, because with our old phone you had to pcik up the phone to read the display so if I didn't use the phone, I didn't know we had a message. The only downside is there isn't a single button to program your voicemail in you have to program ii into the phonebook and then scroll through. Great purchase, I would absolutely recommend.

Summary: The Perfect Cordless Phone Setup
Review: I normally wouldn't buy a V-Tech, but after reading the features I went on a hunch that this was a well-designed phone system. Though I've owned it for only a few weeks I have nothing but good things to say. - You can always charge your phone fully and use it till the battery runs dry (thus perserving battery life) because the other phone is always available! - Speakerphone and headphone jack on both handsets!! Along with a button that allows me to clip this phone onto my belt and do the dishes while on a conference call! - The intercom system is lots of fun. - Inuitive GUI, and all around solid design. I just hope that it will last!

Summary: *NOT* friendly with all wireless networks!
Review: I thought this phone was wonderful, until I moved into a condo. Now, one of my neighbor's wireless networks is interfering with it, even though the box clearly says it is "Wireless Network Friendly".
At some times (typically early morning, during the day, and random other times) the phone is crystal clear, but at other times, especially in the evening, both myself and the person I'm talking to hear clicking sounds and gaps in the conversation. I tried replacing the batteries, moving the base, etc. to no avail. I tried using a corded phone when the wireless phone is not working and the corded phone (plugged into the same cord) always works fine. Also, if I turn on both handsets, the pattern of static is exactly the same on both of them. So, I'm 99% sure there is an interference problem.
It sucks, because these are otherwise pretty good phones. But, they earn 1 star for being marketed as wireless network friendly.

Summary: Extremely happy with this phone
Review: I was looking for a cordless phone with the features: 2.4 GHz DSS, dual handsets, good sound quality, etc. I have read a lot of reviews of different phones and tried 3 sets. But this one is the best one.

There is a cons in that there was no way to add 1 to the caller ID phone number. But according to another post, "Although its lacking from the instruction manual, when reviewing a number from the caller id list, you just have to push the # key. For example, my local calling area requires the 1 prefix and the area code. If I want to call someone back from the caller ID, I scroll to the number, then press the # key and it adds the digits I need." I will try it tonight. If it is true, then I have nothing to complain at all.
I bought 1 set for my home, then another set for my store. Now I am looking to buy a 3rd set for the business line at home to replace VTech 2651, which allows multiple handsets but have lousy battery life and can't share phone book.

Summary: So far so good
Review: I've only had the phone for a week and so far it's great. The phone uses real recharcheable AAA batteries, so no worrying about finding proprietary battery backs when they inevitably stop charging. The speakerphone function works pretty good when the volume's turned up all the way. I'm not sure if the phone is full duplex - it seems to be one person speaking at a time, which ideally is how a conversation should go anyhow, so not a big deal. The 50 number memory is EXCELLENT, the ring is pleasant to your ears, I haven't had to read any directions because everything is pretty intuitive. I programmed every number I regularly called w/o cracking the manual once. If it gives me any problems, I'll update this review, bur for now it's the best phone I've bought in awhile.

Summary: Great phone, great features, happy with purchase
Review: In my opinion, nothing is quite like shopping for a new cordless. Its a risky investment. First there's the phone itself, then you have to worry about batteries, and then static from neighbors. Well, I am happy to say, this phone has got just what I need, at the price I like, with features that are just right.
This is a two handset 2.4 ghz phone. One base plugs into the phone socket, and the second base just needs an electrical outlet. With a two story house, this additional handset has quickly become my favorite feature. We keep one handset downstairs and the other is upstairs. Can't beat that!
The colors on the phone are different that I'm use to, but they are pleasant in person and seem to blend in well with my neutral decor. The keypad and caller id screen are illuminated in soft orange light when buttons are pushed or the phone is ringing.
I like that each phone can have a 'name'. You can program each phone with any text you like. For example, one phone's display reads "Downstairs" and the other is "upstairs". I never have to wonder if one floated to the wrong floor.
The intercom phone to phone feature is a nice bonus as well as the built in speakerphone on each handset. No more do I have to use my shoulder to hold the phone if I'm changing a diaper. Just press 'speakerphone' and the caller is amplified. Its a feature I never had before, but now would not want to be without.
I started shopping for a new phone when our new neighbors moved in and our 900 mhz started going haywire. I have yet to experience any feedback, hissing, or picking up others calls. I'm happy with the sound quality.
My only reservation about this phone prior to purchasing, was another review that stated the caller ID wouldn't allow you to call back a specific call if your area required an area code or 1 prefix. The batteries for this phone are AAA rechargeables. I like that. Too many times I have searched for replacement cordless phone batteries and paid too much! I expect these batteries will last longer, and be more economical in the long run.
Lastly, purchasing this phone didn't break the bank. I'm completely happy with my purchase.
The only negatives I could even think of, are
(1) When I'm trying to unclip the phone from my back pocket, I often hit the volume switch while trying to remove the phone from my pocket.
(2) When programming the phone (ex. adding a number to the phone book or selecting one of the 10 different ring patterns) there is a confirmation beep that sounds when you have completed the programming. Its quite loud, can't be muffled if the belt clip is in place, and doesn't seem to be affected by the phone's volume levels. Its only when you're making a change to the programming, but its still loud.
