Rating: Summary: Too Noisy for Me Review: The AT&T 2230 appears to be a good deal if you have one phone jack but need multiple extensions, and the phones feel good in your hand and look pretty cool.Noise is a subjective thing, and it's clear a few folks below are satisfied with the sound quality. However, when I charged these phones up, I noticed an immediate increase in background buzz over my 10-year old Sony cordless, which was indistinguishable from a corded phone when you were within 50 feet of the base. I tried following a previous reviewer's advice to just kick up the volume (the buzz doesn't get any louder) but at that level I was holding the phone 3 inches from my ear. I called my wife at work and she noticed the buzz too. And I had made sure I was observing all the standard warnings about proximity to other devices, etc. I ended up returning the AT&T and spending more money for the Sony Quadrastation. Still some hiss relative to my old phone, but quiet enough relative to the AT&T that I'll keep it.
Rating: Summary: Love this phone Review: This dual-set phone is a great deal if you have voicemail already, and just need a basic phone with intercom capability. I've never had a problem with the connection or product reliability (unlike my experiences with the Sony phones), and it's very easy to use. The thing I especially like is that it indicates when somebody is using the line, even if it's an external device like a computer modem. This set compares well against more expensive sets.
Rating: Summary: QUALITY PHONE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Review: ... I looked long and hard for a quality cordless phone most are very cheaply made and are a joke. I purchased the At & T phones and I am extremly happy with them. They work flawlessly. The phones are easy to use and you can tell they are made very well. They are comfortable to you ears, the buttons are easy to use etc. The reception is perfect, I can walk through out my house with no interference at all. There are two idenical phones which you can press intercom on and talk to the other person or transfer the call over to the other phone. I would highly recommend this phone.
Rating: Summary: worst phone I've ever purchased Review: We bougth these a year ago and were satisfied for a short time. After about a couple of months, the phones started "acting up"- would not allow you to pick up a call or turn phone on if the other phone was too close to it, would make an error noise for no apparent reason, would turn off in the middle of a call for no reason & would make a buzing noise that would wake us up in the middle of the night (strange). My parents bought these phones as well (they were on sale at Costco) and returned them soon after their purchase.
Rating: Summary: Poor Product Reliability Review: I initially liked the features of this product and the price was reasonable. It was a particularly convenient way to have a cordless available in a location where I did not have a phone jack. It worked fine for about 9 months but then one of the handsets began to malfunction. It just displays a message stating that it is Out of Service. No amount of plugging and unplugging or setting and resetting the handset will correct the problem. Based on my experience I would recommend spending your money on another product. There are certainly other choices in much the same price range that would likely offer better long term value.
Rating: Summary: poor Review: My husband bought this phone shortly before we were married and never had any trouble with it, than shortly after we were married it started acting up sometimes not even letting us answer it. The caller ID is totally unreliable and is iffy at times. <br />The reseption on it is mute at times. I have answered the phone before to find that it hung up on me all on its own. I tell my husband that it is the demon phone. We tried to replace it but had just as much trouble from that one. All in all im still on the hunt for the perfect phone. One thats not possesed.
Rating: Summary: Very Unreliable Review: This phone worked great for about four months. After four months, one phone began displaying the message "Out of Order." After that message appeared, the phone never worked again - despite changing it's battery. The second phone lasted about two additional months before it began displaying the same "Out of Order" message. Someone should have indicated on the box that it was really a disposable phone!
Rating: Summary: not happy with it Review: I loved the concept of 2 extensions while only using one jack. It gives you the freedom of placing the phone exactly where you want it. Unfortunately, I had problems from the get-go! The sound quality was not as good as other phones that I have used and the batteries just didn't seem to hold their charge. It was so bad that if I forgot to put the phone on the charger before going to bed, the phone would be dead the next day.
Rating: Summary: Love it! Review: I have had this phone for over a year and it is ideal for my situation. I have one jack upstairs and one in the kitchen. You get two phones in one with only one base set to plug in. I keep the base and one handset upstairs and the extension phone downstairs that doesn't have to be plugged in. It is the best phone I have owned and I have bought expensive ones in the past. I wish I could get another extension phone to add to it. I may just buy another set for myself for Xmas.
