Rating: Summary: On it way back Review: We tried it for a month and it is now on its way back to Amazon. Calls were not clear even within 10' of the base unit. Tried to change settings on the base unit and they were not recognized. Definitely not worth the price.
Rating: Summary: I'll keep this one ! Review: Range is great, sound quality is far superior to the other systems I've had like this. Answering machine is simple to operate without needless options. After my Siemens 2415 two cans and a string would be an improvement !!
Rating: Summary: Bad echo, then then the phone stopped working Review: On the very first call I made with this phone I noticed an annoying echo. The echo didn't happen on all calls, but on enough of them for it to be distracting. Then after using the phone for only four days, the base unit stopped recognizing the phone line. I never did get the base unit to see the phone line. I returned it for a refund.
Rating: Summary: LOVE IT!! Review: My other phone was a Siemens 2415 2.4 Gigaset with answering machine. It had all these great features just like a cell phone.Only after a few months of having it people would tell me that I am breaking up or they could not hear me so I bought a new head set but still the same story. My husband bought it about 3 yrs. ago it cost $150.00.Finally it just died.So of course I wanted the same features. This phone comes with a belt clip for each phone. You can create each phone with different ring tones, you can also name each phone. It also has a well lit back light which tells you how many old calls and how many new calls there are with out pressing a button. It is very very easy to use.It is lite weight.I do have 1 con and that is the volume on the handset it isnt that loud I find myself asking the other person to speak up and I do have very good hearing.I did shop around and found that all that I wanted and needed at a below average price for all that this phone has to offer.GREAT PHONE EXCELLENT PRICE!!
Rating: Summary: Unreliable Review: I bought the AT&T 2230 2.4 GHz Dual-Handset Cordless Phone set last summer for my small one bedroom apartment. It seemed like the perfect phone and it was for a while. I had absolutely no problems with it for the first 6 months. It had all the features I wanted plus a few more I did not use. The range was fine, I could take it all the way down to the laundry room and it still worked perfectly. I never had a problem with battery life, signal, or clarity. I thought I had purchased the last phone I would need for a very long time. When it came to move into my house I bought a second set, the AT&T 2255 2.4 GHz Dual Handset Cordless Phone with Answering System, thinking the convenience of all four phones being the same and being able to stick each handset in any charger was worth it. The pager system between handsets also sounded handy for getting a hold of someone say in the garage and whatnot. About two months after settling into my new home the phones started acting up. First the signal strength would go in and out. Calls would get disconnected and the battery life stinks. Then the phones just stopped working. When I get a call now the base unit rings but when I go to grab a receiver it shows "OUT OF SERVICE" on the display and will not work. I end up running around the house looking for one that will respond. I tend to miss most of my calls now because of this. The receivers go in and out, sometimes working, sometimes not. Less then a year after purchasing them I am already shopping for a new phone. In the beginning I figured I would spend a little extra and get a phone that would last, but it did not end that way.I would highly advise at looking elsewhere towards a different brand. Unless you like the idea of having to replace your phone every six months, this phone set is not for you.
Rating: Summary: No luck with these Review: I bought this set at target as a replacement for my panasonic that did not have caller id - well, long story short - it was a complete dissapointment. The sound quality is bad and the batteries lasted about 3 months.
Rating: Summary: Worst phone ever Review: Bad reception, won't hold a charge for more than 15 minutes. Enough said.
Rating: Summary: Poor battery life Review: I have to agree with many others about the poor quality of this phone. The battery life decreased rapidly and after several weeks I was forced to keeps both phones on their chargers. Instead of gambling on replacement cells I bought a Panasonic phone as suggested by other disappointed AT&T model 2255 buyers.
Rating: Summary: No luck with these Review: You get what you pay for, and my advise to anyone thinking of buying this answering machine phone combo is to pass on this model and brand name (AT&T really doesn't make this system, THEY JUST PUT THEIR LOGO ON IT). Why pass on it?
1) Bad voice reception with the person you are talking to (i.e. yhey can't hear you very well)
2) Bad reception.
3) After you call this machine for messages (when you're at another phone or on vacation)you can't monitor the room in your home or apartment to hear if your dogs or whomever is okay,(but my old Panasonic answering machine enabled me to do this
Moral of story: If you're in the market for a system like this one, then buy a Panasonic brand - I know I will - when this system dies out.
Rating: Summary: Love this phone Review: Ok, don't get me wrong here - it's not perfect. But it's pretty good. We have had the phone for nearly 2 years and asside from replacing the batteries we haven't had to do any maintenance or repairs. These phones are a bit confusing to use (left and right are up and down in the menus) but they aren't bad once you read the manual so you know how to use them. Also, many previous reviews have mentioned that the redial doesn't work. Actually, the problem is that you are pressing the wrong button!!! It looks like the # is the redial button from where the label is but if you check the manual you will see that the redial button is the one BELOW the "Redial" label. It's the small button that has no character or number on it in the lower right hand corner. And it works great. We have 2 dogs in our house so these phones have been used as chew toys more than once and they still work great. Battery life is about 2 days with consistent usage and 5-7 days when they are not being used much. The answering machine sounds great. The only drawwback is that there is a very limited range of volume levels that are useful. The first 3-4 are so quiet you can't hear them and the last 1-2 are so loud the speaker or amp distorts the sound.
