Summary: Lightweight, comfortable, good sound, what else?
Review: I got these a few months ago, and I couldn't be happier with them. 1st off, these cans are lightweight. Those other people who said that they associate quality with heaviness, I may never understand them. The MDRV300s don't weigh you down. Also, they're comfortable to wear. The foam and cloth in the cups are very soft, and they're breathable, so your ears don't get to hot after long periods of time.
Now, here's the thing that really matters: the sound.Base - Exceptionaly good, sounds true to life when it needs to. 9.5/10
Treble - While they don't go as high as others can, it's acceptable. 8/10
White noise - Unfortunately, there is a hint of white noise, very obvious listening to music with no base (classical) at a low volume. Luckily, beyond this one case, I hear none. 2.5/10
Overall sound - I'm very pleased at these cans, as they sound good for music, movies, etc. They're universal. 9/10 With only a few fluxuations in the sound (very small case of white noise and treble that could be better), and a very comfortable design and feel, I give these headphones a final score of 9.3/10.

Summary: big boom for little money
Review: i had been using a pair of sony MDR-V700DJ headphones for a while but only while at home but they are far from portable. well, i went to bestbuy in search of something new that i could carry around with my when walking around campus everyday that were comparable to the MDR-V700's. these headphones were just the ticket. not only do they sound really great using either my aiwa cd player or arkos mp3 jukebox but they fit right into my small backpack with ease. understand this though, these headphones do not fold up like the MDR-V700's. that is something i wish i would have known before buying them. they simply collapse, meaning the ear pieces fold up and into the headband. the one problem is that they really don't stay that way. sometimes i just wrap a rubber band around them to keep them from harm. these headphones do have really great sound for being so small and inexpensive. the bass is outstanding and the treble is matched pretty well. luckily my mp3 player has an eQ, otherwise the treble would sound a bit muddy. the headphones block out almost all outside noise, but you do hear just enough to know what's going on and that is surely a good thing walking around campus and crossing streets. i think that is what these headphones are best for . . .travel by foot or sitting in your office. i wouldn't suggest these for use as a club dj ( that's why i had the MDR-V700DJ's in the 1st place. they are untouchable ) nor would i suggest these headphones if you need something really small and portable. it's give and take when chosing a pair of headphones. give up a little size for a little better sound. well these do a damn good job of balancing out the two. it would have 5 stars if only they folded up like the MDR-V700DJ's do and if the highs were just a little higher.

Summary: Dull sound
Review: I have owned the V-200 for about 7 years now and a friend recently bought the V-300. The sound was comparable between the two models. I'll tell you of my experience with the V-200 since I feel it applies to its cousin - the V-300
In the 7 yrs I've owned the V-200, the synthetic soft rubbery like material that sits on your ears has peeled off the cloth backing. No big deal, but it tells me the quality is not that great since the headphones have seen little use.
Why do the headphones see so little use? Dull sound - thats why. Just compare these with a pair of Bose Triport headphones. These Sony's are so damn dull. A set of open air el cheapo aiwa headphones sounded better than these. The bass is ok - but it hardly extends to the low frequencies and the high frequencies just seem to be not there. Its like listening to speakers with blown tweeters. My friend incidentally returned his V-300 and got a Bose Triport - after one listening session. That is inspite of the Triports costing many times more.
After my experience with these headphones, I am very hesitant and am very careful before purchasing a "Sony" since I have gone wrong more than once. For my digital camera I chose an Olympus and for an MP3 player - an IRiver and very happy with the choices. Please compare these headphones very carefully with ones costing half as much - and maybe you will agree.

Summary: Good headphones
Review: I haven't owned them even a month yet, but I think they're a good pair of headphones. I previously owned a pair of black Sony headphones, not sure which model, but they lasted me a couple years at least. They had fallen apart early on, but I held them together with tape. Anyway, I think these ones are a little better quality as far as durability goes, and if the others lasted me a couple years, these should go at least twice as far. If you like bass, these are for you. For the kind of headphones they are, including the price tag, the bass is superior. A little bit of treble is lost in it, however. But if I could only have two complains, one would be that the cord is too long. But that's manageable, and I suppose it could come in handy in certain situations. The second would be that the color and size of the headphones look a bit odd when wearing them, as someone else told me, they make me "look like an alien". This isn't a big deal, when you think about the fact that you're getting superiour sound quality and comfort for it, they could look worse. If I could have a third, it's that there's no volume control on the cord, which is a detracting factor if you plan to use these headphones at the computer, which I do myself. But I can't give these headphones a rating lower than 4 stars, because of all the stores I went to I don't think I could've bought a better pair, without leaving with an empty wallet. If you want a perfect pair of headphones, feel free to search high and low, but if you want to save your effort and probably some cash, these headphones are great. Sony is a reliable brand, and again, if you like bass, I don't think these will disappoint you at all.

Summary: Looks Cheap, sounds Ok
Review: I know Sony is the leader in the field of electronics, but this thing sure looks cheaply made. It just has too much plastic. I swear, if it had a no-name brand (Coby, Diawa, etc.)on the side of it I wouldn't know the difference. I almost bought a Koss instead of buying this one and I sure wish I would've tried the Koss.

Summary: Great Sound, Great Bargin, What a Buy!
Review: I purchased a pair of MCR-V300 headphones last year, i can officially say i am amazed. The quality of the sound is extemely good, and the stereo makes it feel like you are in the same room as the musicians when they recorded the sound. The construction is impeccible and i have not had a single break or tear or rip or anything wrong with the headphones. Nearly flawless. The one flaw i have found is that over the ear headphones cause your ears to be very heated and start to hurt your ears after a while. This should not be a problem for most people, if you do not intend to wear the headphones for long periods of time at once. Overall, this is a supreme bargin and amazing buy at just around 40 dollars (including shipping & other charges).

Summary: great headphones for the price
Review: I purchased these headphones a couple of weeks ago and am very pleased with them. The headphones are a tad bit bassy, but perfect for my taste. With these headphones I hear alot of things that I missed in the past with other headphones. In addition, they are very comfortable and have a fairly long cord.
To sum it up:
Pros:
-Nice full and bassy sound
-Comfortable
-Adapter plug included
Cons:
-Not the quality you'd expect in a pair of hundred dollar headphones, but definitely good quality for the price.
-If the volume is low and the cord ends up getting rubbed near the headphones, you can slightly hear it, but it really is not that big of a problem.
-Not very portable. The "folding" feature does not make it much more portable

Summary: Great sound, small package
Review: I purchased these headphones after my previoius pair started giving me headaches and hurting my ears. When I pulled the Sonys out of the box, I thought how good sound could come from these small headphones. However, they sound better than my older, much larger pair, and even rival my friends Koss. I didn't find the bass overpowering as I've read in so many reviews. I listen to all types of music, and found that the bass is deep and broad and the treble very clear. What I did find is that the treble sounds very tinny compared to the rich, deep bass, but the bass does not overpower. As for comfort, I wear these headphones more than four hours each days, and they feel fine even after many hours. I have heard some complain that they press too hard against the ears, but these are very light and fit on the ears very well. I would recommend these to someone who can find a good price (I did). They are good quality, sound great, and very comfortable.
P.S. I use these to listen on my computer, and I did not evaluate them on smaller audio devices, if that matters.

Review: I purchased these sony headphones a couple of months ago, and find them to produce very good quality audio. For the price, your definitely getting great quality sound. Obviously, you don't expect to get the same quality from a $50 pair of headphones than you do from a $500 pair. Overall, good headphones for the money. I'm happy with this buy.
