The Jensen JF25 Headphones' ear-fitting drivers, light weight, and self-adjusting headband ensure comfort and ease of listening. Both speaker leads travel in a single wire stemming from the left earcup, minimizing knotting and allowing freer movement during use. A clippable level-control mechanism (up, down, or mute) obviates the need for immediate access to your listening device, letting you tuck your portable cassette, MiniDisc, CD, or MP3 player into a backpack, purse, or pocket. We found the volume control inconvenient. The knob is hard to access and the mute control button needs to be pressed continuously, instead of being a simple instant-kill switch. While Jensen reports a 20 to 20,000 Hz frequency range for the JF25s, it does not state the variances from "flat" along this range. Expect some suck-out in the midrange, and slight bloatedness in the bass (the usual sacrifices for headphones commanding low-frequency tonal response). But overall the sound is good, with strong bass and clear, non-abrasive treble. An included 1/4-inch adapter fosters listening from component audio sources such as integrated amplifiers, CD players, and some DVD machines. Pros:
