Summary: GREAT HEADPHONES FOR EVEN THE REGULAR LISTENER
Review: You dont have to be a DJ to get these great headphones. I bought them for my computer mp3's and it has brought them to a whole new level. The only down is that they are a little uncomfortable on the top of your head, however, that should not hold you back. The sound quality is crisp, pure and wonderful.

Summary: Amazing Sound...but not too comfy
Review: The bass on these things is spectacular, the sound is great, the portability is wonderful, and they look really nice. My only problem with them is that the headband is rather uncomfortable. It is not soft at all, I don't know if "dj" headphones are supposed to not be soft but I didn't like this fact. Other people don't seem to have a problem when they wear my headphones but I often do. I suggest you try them on and feel for yourself.

Review: These headphones sounds great. It got swivel earcups so you can wear them in many different ways, which is very useful for dj's. It driven by a 50mm drive unit, and massive 3000mWatts. Looks futuristic and its optimized for isolating outer ambient-noise. They are very professional headphones, though they are very hard to get. But if you see them, get them!

Review: These headphones are "the" headphones to have right now if you are a serious DJ! I am dying to get my hands on a pair, every big DJ has them! Apparently they are the best out there! Sell whatever you have and buy these fast! I live in Toronto and for some stupid reason Sony Canada did not purchase these for the Canadian market? Grab if you can! Later party people! Review: I really enjoy my pair of these headphones. They deliver top notch sound with killer bass. They can at times be uncomfortable after extended listening periods. I've had mine for about 7 months and use them almost every day. I noticed some people said they wear quickly but I have yet to have a problem.

Summary: Voted Best Sound By Me
Review: I picked these babies up at an Ultimate Electronics a year ago because I was sick of my various pairs of inferior headphones that popped when I turned them up too loud. Also I was sick of not getting a good range of balanced, clear sound from my $20 headphones. The store I went to had about 15 pairs of various high-end headphones set on the same volume and connected to the same stereo. I compared them all and found that this model had the best sound. It had the second loudest bass (by a small amount) but the way it delivered the midrange and the highs swayed me to this model. The CD playing during my comparison had good bass (a blues track I remember) and plenty of blazing harmonica solos. This model stood alone in the way it performed on the harmonica solos. It was such a sharp and crisp sound, I felt like my ears were being aurally attacked (a good thing in this case). I'm not a DJ, nor do I use these for more than a few hours a week on average, so I know nothing of bad casing, but they're $150 headphones, so I think I'll be pretty gentle with these.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THESE HEADPHONES!
Review: While the Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones have an appealing look (c'mon, that's why you want them...I was duped as well!) there is an inherent flaw in the quality of the construction. The casings around the 'swivel cup' WILL eventually crack rendering the headphones useless (do a quick online search and you will see how many consumers have complained about this exact problem). I have used mine for home listening purposes which should be well within what Sony would consider normal 'wear and tear'. Despite the fact that the cheap design is a common complaint, Sony will charge you $78.65 to exchange your useless headphones with a 'refurbished' pair...this on top of the original $150!

I sincerely hope this review will save other consumers from throwing their money down the drain. Do yourself a favor and invest your money in a product that will last!

Summary: Sound good, but there are better and more durable choices
Review: I owned a pair of MDR-V700s for about two weeks before deciding to return them. Mostly I did so because of reviews I read here and elsewhere that panned these for lack of durability. After a bit of deliberation, I opted for the Sony MDR-V6s, which have been around for a long time and have earned a loyal fan base willing to attest to their sound quality and durability. You can find them online for less than the MDR-V700s, and I think they sound better too.
