Review: -These are great headphones. Their sturdy construction and high sound quality far exceeds that of all the other closed type headphones of this price range that I have used.
-The headband and earcups are made of thick, hardshell plastic. The headband has a rubber strap across its inner surface, making it quite comfortable, and the earpieces are thickly padded with covered foam. The earpieces do a good job of keeping sounds in and out. The cord is a 5m (16.4 ft.) split-type that goes into both earpieces. I prefer single-sided cords, but at $30, you can't complain. The plug is of a 3.5mm (.125 in.) straight-type (not L-shaped)stereo gold-plated design, and comes with a 6.3mm (0.25 in.) large gold-plated stereo plug adaptor. The overall construction of the headphones is reasonably sturdy. They're a little large for some people's definition of street wear, though.
-The sound quality of these headphones is excellent. I have tested them with a wide variety of music styles, all without any noticeable sound problems. They handle high bass levels without problems. With an impedence of 22 ohms/1kHz, a sensitivity of 102 dB/mW, and a frequency response of 10 Hz to 27 kHz, they are more than capable of providing high quality sound in any situation--although they might not be the best thing for studio use.
-All around, a good set of 'phones. There are better headphones out there, but they cost a lot more. These are the best I've found in this price range.

Review: ... They are very realiable and not too overpriced. The cord is long enough for me to get up from my computer and start folding clothes, start dancing, or do whatever around my room. It is so comftorable to wear as well, sometimes I forget I'm wearing them. ... If you're like me and you want good headphones at a reasonable price then these are for you. The cord is super strong. One time I had goten up from my chair and had my foot on the cord and it pulled me back down with force. These headphones are as tough as they are comftorable and reliable. 1) They were cheap ($30)
2) They had a long cord (16ft)
3) They had volume control

About 6 months after using them, 1 & 2 were still true, but 3 no longer was. When using the volume control, the left speaker would short out, and only if you were lucky enough to get the volume wheel back in the right spot and push it to one side or the other of the casing it was in would the connection be made and sound would return. The majority of the time after about 1-2 minutes of trying to get it to work, I'd just give up.

I thought I just got a bad unit, but when my friend's set was doing the same thing at about the same time, I'd have to say it was a manufacturer's problem.

Sound quality was pretty good for what I was using it for (computer gaming).

I was just about to cut the wires, remove the volume control, and splice back together the wires with electrical tape, but I thought I'd give them one more shot and they were indeed functional after just a few seconds of tweaking. Best to leave a sleeping dog lay, I've leave them be.

Summary: Good set of inexpensive headphones.
Review: I bought this particular pair of headphones becuase I finally managed to kill my Sony's.
I am very, very glad I bought these headphones. The amount of bass they have is great (I listen to heavy metal almost exclusively, so the more bass the better ), especially that it goes up to high volumes without distorting.
They are very comfortable and light weight to wear, so when I'm using them on my PC, extended gaming is no problem.
The 16 foot cord is a mixed blessing. It's great when I'm playing games on our living room PC and I want to wander over to the kitchen to get another Sprite or something, but bad when I want to plug them into my portable CD player or even my laptop, as I now have 14 feet of cord I really don't need.
I agree totally with many of the other reviews. I've heard other headphones in this same price range, and you really do have to buy a much more expensive set to do any better.

Summary: Excellent for the price!
Review: I know (though not epistemologically speaking) there are probably a LOT of older style, studio monitor, aging hipster, over the ear, cushioned headphones out there, but for the price, these Panasonics are great. For 99.99 percent of you out there looking for this STYLE/TYPE of headphones, but aren't Bill Gates, you can't go wrong here.

For one thing, the overall sound reproduction is fantastic. Bass is favored here over high treble or midrange frequencies, so if you have an equalizer on your computer or music playing device, it might help. For those with such cababiltiies, you will be in headphone heaven with these. I use these mostly for computer music/sound, so computer programs with equalizers work perfectly. Still, even when I use them on my stereo television, the bass is in no way overwhelming without equalization, and in fact, these actually add to the in-home theater sensation of watching films originally in movie houses but now so easily available on video or DVD or cable. Even watching various TV programs broadcast in "stereo" is a kick, as these have great left and right channel separation. While wearing these and remoting through various cable channels, you'll immediately know (and how) whether you're tuned to a mono or stereo broadcast station.

These are very comfortable headphones, and can be adjusted as much as one needs to, and the inner cups are large enough to not cause earstrain stress on anyone except Dumbo the Elephant, I'd suppose. In other words, these are great for extended listening.

The really long cord allows one to watch TV or play video games from an extremely convenient distance. There is also a cool but small volume control about a foot or so down from the actual headphones, which means that if you're a distance from your remote or TV and want to increase or decrease the loudness, it's very easy. The long cord CAN get in the way sometimes, and is way too long for use with portable devices (though you can always just use a twist tie to shorten the cord length), but for computer and/or TV use, you can't go wrong for the relatively low cost of these headphones, and I have little to complain about here. These are easily worth twice what they're going for.

If you're looking for an older style, over the ear, noise cancelling pair of headphones with great sound, comfortable fit, and long cord for both computer and tv/home theater/video games use, buy them now. I seriously doubt you'll be disappointed.

Review: I purchased RPHT355 headphones for use in my cube at work, to replace my [amt] variety that did not kill background sound. I had hopes for at least an enjoyable experience.

With the phones plugged into my Carver CT-Seven preamplifier, which drives my Sony Studio Monitor phones well, I was expecting a positive experience.

What I got was a highly veiled thin response with little detail. Trying to get even a resemblance of flat responce from the headphones was challenging due to their non-linearity in resopnse.

I listen to Jazz, Classical, 60's, 70's and 80's pop with some country mixed in. These didn't impress on anything. I went back to the [amt] guys.

Review: I purchased these headphones a little over two months and I was originaly pleased with my purchase and they had very good sound quality for the price but I took them on a basketball trip with me and on the bus ride back the left ear just stopped outputting music and now all the music comes out of the right ear it is no longer is stereo!! Now realize I this could be good for studio monitering or something of some such nature but since I do not mix music in a studio this is of very little use to me. Now i will admit i used this headphones quite heavily and sometimes the volume was loud but i was expecting alot more out of these headphones. So in conclusion if ur lookin for a set of headphones for a reasonable price that will last i strongly advise against it. but if ur not going to be too tuf on ur headphones then it might not be such a bad idea

Review: I'm a younger guy without a job yet and I'm on quite a bit of a limited budget. But no matter what I always like to get the very best value out of my dollar. So I read the reviews online, and I sat around comparing the specs of 5 different headphones in my price range in the store. I took these home and I have a winner. There is nothing that could compared to these with the outstanding frequency response, hearty bass, and clean mid-range for only $30!!! After following up on other people's opinions on the "volume control" I've decided to abstain from using it, just keeping it on max and letting the device control the volume. Asides from that I have yet to find any quirks with this solid pair of headphones, at a GREAT PRICE.

Review: I've found these Panasonic headphones to be the best value in personal listening devices I've ever encountered! They're surprisingly durable for their price range. I've owned a pair for four years, and they still work perfectly. Previous similar-model phones I've used lasted only half as long before the sound would start to go in and out (most likely from wire fraying). But the sounds coming out of these is still as full and crisp today as they were when I first got 'em! I'm also impressed by the sound quality; I get pretty good surround sound and multichannel stereo from these whenever I listen to CDs, or watch DVDs or digital cable. Also included is a large stereo jack adapter for those big component system earphone jack sockets.

The 16-foot cord gives me a pretty good range. I can walk to every corner of my bedroom when I'm listening to my fave platters and still have some cord footage to spare! I can also go right from the TV room to the bathroom without having to worry about missing the ball game when it comes back from commercials! Another plus: the rather comfortable construction & design. With the right adjustments, I don't have to worry about the earpieces of my eyeglasses pushing & rubbing against my head and ears (usually resulting in chafing) whenever I wear them!
