Summary: Clear, crisp, and powerful
Review: I bought these headphones almost a year ago after much research. Amazon had the best price to be found anywhere. These headphones have traveled with me during recording sessions, presentations, and music mixing. They have always impressed me with their clarity and power. They reproduce the bass range very well. I have seen many professional sound engineers with these very headphones. If you like to listen for fun, or for profit, you can't go wrong with the Sony MDR-v600 Headphones.

Summary: Not the greatest
Review: I bought these to replace my worn out Sony MDRV6 headphones. Big mistake. These Sony MDRV600 have too much low frequency bass. After a couple minutes with them on, I felt like my ear drums were going to start bleeding from that bass. You'll need an equalizer to use these headphones.

Summary: Incredible Sound
Review: I first bought the Sony MDR V6 over a decade ago and was so taken by their performance, that I invested in the V600 a few months ago. I have not been disappointed. If you are looking to combine your digital music listening experience (CDs, MP3s, etc) with a top notch pair of headphones or looking to enhance your movie watching experience (on a laptop for example) with a state of the art pair of headphones, look no further.

The highs and the lows are captured perfectly, adding a hithero unknown dimension to your listening (and viewing) pleasure. You certainly cannot go wrong with the price either!

Be warned, however, that these headphones are heavy. While, not a problem, should you be sitting in one place and listening to the audio, by no means will you be comfortable walking around in these headphones. (Hence the four and not five stars.)

Summary: Excellent headphones for the price but have a few flaws.
Review: I have had these for about 4 months now and I still like them a lot. However when I first bought them I was pretty disappointed because the initial sound was flat and I hate to say it lifeless and boring. However I listened to another reviewer's advice and played them reasonably loud for 3 days and the difference it made for the bass and treble was dramatic and now I love them. And they still sound really good if theyre at a quiter level now too.
These are a bit of a step up from my Sony 200H speakers which I thought were great. Now I realize I can get clear treble and deep bass without having to crank those options to 10 like I did with my speakers. The way these sound when played with your favorite music is absolutely wonderful. As far as Im concerened these take a while to "break in" but after they do they sound great.
One last thing I must say is that although the ear pads will wear away in time the phones are still just as comfortable and sound just as good when this happens. At first I was worried that if the ear pads fell apart the phones would be completey broken but now I realize that I was worried about nothing. All in all there are fancier headphones but these remain my favorite for their accurate sound and strong quality.

Summary: Lasts a long time
Review: I have owned a pair of MDR-V600s for over 10 years now and received excellent value for the money. The only problem I've had, as one other reviewer noted, is that the ear cups deteriorate after regular use. Mine now have come completely undone, with bare foam showing all the way around. Near as I can tell though, this doesn't make any difference for sound or comfort. Unfortunately, a maintenance person working in my office apparently accidentally broke the plug and they are now unusable. After searching around on the Net for a replacement pair, I've come back to V600s as the best quality for the price.

Summary: REAL LIFE STUDIO MONITOR HEADPHONES.
Review: I have owned this exact pair for several years. MDR-V600's are constructed very well. They fit tightly on your head. They completely cover your ears. I have missed many phone calls with these on. The sound quality is very natural and uncolored. They have the ability to reproduce lower frequencies than my 15 inch woofers in my car. You lose your sense of reality with these headphones on. They are very close to perfect when listening to your favorite music. Try listening to them while watching a movie through your receiver. WOW! Amazing detail and you don't miss any dialogue. My only quibble would be that the foam surround will come loose after a couple years of continous use. Otherwise, an excellent product!

Summary: Absolutely wonderful.
Review: I have used these headphones for over 10 years with complete satisfaction in performance and durability. They have handled all types of music and movies at nearly all levels of volume. The only drawback would be if you bust'em they are not fixable for less than a replacement.

Summary: these bump
Review: I just got these headphones and they are sure worth the price. If you want some high end head phones that bump for a decent price go with these.

Summary: Best for the money
Review: I researched all through Amazon, and others, and read all the reviews. Was going to buy the v700, but Amazon customers seemed to like the v600 better, and it was less expensive! They are terrific. Crisp, clear sound for my old ears. What I like the most is that after having them on for 2 hours, I forget that I am even wearing them, as they are so comfortable. You can't go wrong, in my opinion. Of course, one would have to listen to the other 500 headphones on the market to be really accurate, but per the reviews, and my experience with this model, it is well worth it.

Summary: Comfortable for hours
Review: I use these at work when I'm busy and need to concentrate. I work in a cubicle with people who like to laugh and joke LOUDLY. That's great, except when I have a deadline. I put these on and listen to a CD or the radio, and it shuts out the noise to the point where I can actually get some work done. I think the sound quality is great. The coiled cord is about 5 feet long or so and stretches out nicely. Sony's page says the cord is 9.8 feet long, extended. It allows me to move about a small area in my cubicle without it getting tangled. They are the only headphones I've been able to wear all day long without hurting my head. I'd buy them again, especially at this price.
