Review: I purchased this headphones after in-store listening
the sound is extremely good, about same as KOSS portapro family
the headphone has very good sensitivity, even you can get enough volume level outdoors with single battery walkman, it is very comfortable (can be put on for hours), but not too loose
but somehow the headphone looks a little bit awful, it's not easy to identify left and right, and the plug is not gold-plated nor L-shaped
all the japanese lightweight headphones manufacturers should start to consider to make similar sound quality portable headphones
get this or KOSS portapro series, NEVER SETTLE FOR ANY JAPANESE headphones

Summary: Better than px-200
Review: I recent ordered the px-100 after reading so many positive reviews from both consumers and professional users. By accident, Amazon shipped me the px-200 instead, which I wasn't so quite sure to keep or not. So I asked for an exchange from Amazon. The replacement came in a couple of days later and I decided to compare these two headphones together before I shipped the wrong one back. I am so glad Amazon gave me the opportunity for the comparison. Honestly, there's just no comparison between the two. PX-100 is just much better than the PX-200 in terms of dynamic ranges and especially in the low range (bass). I'd say I even like it better than the HD-497 which I have owned for a while because HD-497 gets too much sound outside while px-100 pretty much keeps the sound inside. When you turn the volume of your music player to median or higher, you can barely hear the noise around you even though it is an open-air headphone.

Summary: Not just good for the money, but good, period.
Review: I reviewed a lot of headphones at Stereophile, and never found a pair under $100 that pleased me. Either they were highly colored or blah-sounding.
These are neither. If you didn't know you were listening to headphones with a street price of $40, you'd think they were more like $140. They're not only neutral, but transparent and detailed. The "graininess" common to inexpensive 'phones is missing. Voices have a nice bloom and focus. Ambience is rendered well, not smeared or obscured.
I wouldn't call the PX 100 dark or dull, but the top end does not seem to extend into the ultrasonic. I find this a minor failing, as (most -- many?) recordings tend to be overbright, anyway.
Unreservedly recommended. If you don't like the PX 100, you probably prefer colorations to accuracy.

Summary: Full, rich sound; light and comfortable
Review: I wanted headphones for use at work that would be comfortable and have nice sound. These have far surpassed my expectations on both counts. I did do a burn-in period as others have recommended. I got them at Christmas and let them play for most of that week. The sound is great at any volume. What has really pleased me is the very full sound even at low to moderate volume. I was hesitant about getting open back style headphones as I don't want to disturb nearby coworkers. But these pack a lot of sound way before they are audible to others. And they are very rich and warm sounding, though I'm no audiophile, they really sound great to me. Also, I can wear them for hours without them getting uncomfortable. They're light and don't clamp hard on my ears. I'd highly recommend these for use at work or home.

After reading reviews here at amazon as well as headroom, I decided to buy this product. Thre reviews are true! It's a great headphone which satisfies all my needs!

Summary: Not just for air travelers and joggers
Review: I was looking for phones that would pack plenty of punch without sacrificing any of the qualities of their full-grown, ostentatious siblings. Anyone who's even moderately serious about headphones knows that the smallest improvements come at a price. In the case of these phones, the cost is easily justified. I've compared them with several portables in the $5-10 range along with some full-sized models weighing in at $50-100. Conclusion: these are worthy of being your "front-line," and perhaps only, pair of phones. They're up to the task of distinguishing each of the instruments in a jazz rhythm section or reproducing the spacious quality of an entire string section. The treble is distinct and "alive"; the bass is, if anything, more than I require (and the PX 200's are supposedly the bass-heavy models). Comfort? They feel the same as any $2 pair of portable headphones--until the music begins, at which point "wearability" is not even an issue. Be forwarned that no 1/4" adapter is included. Apparently Sennheiser wants consumers to view these as strictly low-end phones suitable only for connection to a portable CD player. Nonsense. My only real disappointment thus far is the awkwardness of folding and fitting the headphones back into their hard case. If I can get this down to 60 seconds or under, I'll probably revise my rating upward.

Summary: Where have these been all my life?
Review: I was one of those cheap dogs who just used the headphones that came with the cd player. Good enough, right? Whatever. I have joined the ranks of those who learn what their music really sounds like. Never to go back. These are just awesome to wear! So lightweight, I can hardly feel them! I like the longer cord, the case is a little strange, but this is a set of headphones I want protected! I love the clear sound. Tchaikovsky, Metallica, John Williams, Charlotte Church, Louis Armstrong, all across the board I like the sound better. I'm just getting into the audiophile game, so I don't know all the words to describe how much better the sound is, but double your pleasure, double your fun seems to cover it. I love the comfort level. I could wear them all day. I was using these Sony (included w/ CD player) phones, but they make my ears feel bent after a while. The only drawback (inconsequential in my view) is that in their open design, others can really hear when you play stuff loud. My boss came over, she thought I was busting my ears out, but I was just sound bathing at the proper level for screaming electric guitar. But that's not really a con. That's for others to worry about. I'll have to watch it in the library when the grumpies are around. These are the best headphones I have heard to date for the money. I guess I should get out more. Someday I may upgrade to better sennheisers. The 580's are supposed to rock. There's also headphone amps to try first. Where's my raise, boss? Anyway, I'd buy these again in a second. I may get another pair for running.

Summary: The BEST iPod headphones available!
Review: I'm really impressed by these phones. The highs, mids and bass are really clear, plus you can crank them and they won't distort. My iPod drives them very well. I listen to a wide variety of music, from downtempo and psy-trance to 50's jazz and Baroque. Everything sounds good with these, but I might be inclined to back off the bass slightly when I'm listening to Handel. They beat the pants off my Sony behind-the-neck headphones and my $80 Sony "bio-cellulose" earbud phones AND the iPod earbuds. Don't expect them to isolate you from outside sound, however. And in quiet surroundings people sitting near you will probably hear them too. But who cares?! Highly recommended.
