Summary: Returned to Apple after 1/2 hour of use
Review: I bought these headphones expecting better sound quality and comfort compared to the earbud headphones that came with my iPod. After a 1/2 hour of use, I didn't find either to be the case. In fact, I preferred the sound of the original headphones over the newer ones which sounded flat. I tested this by switching headphones back and forth while listening to a variety of songs (classical, rock, etc.). As for the fit issue, it's possible that I didn't put them in the right way. But I did try on all three sizes and ultimately did not find any as comfortable as the originals. The one good thing about them is that they come in a neat case, so you can avoid the inevitable tangle of wires of the original iPod headphones. But the case alone does not justify the price tag. I ended up sending them back. I think Apple dropped the ball on this one.

Summary: Good but not good enough
Review: first off i love the new concept of the internal earbuds that fit in your ear and through the earplugs prevent much external noise from preventing you from hearing your music. the headphones have desent bass and treble but i found that they were quite difficult to keep in my earsbecause the plugs are joined to the actual earbud (my ears are pretty small)these heaphones dont stay in all to well and it just becomes a nuisance to have to constantly press them back in I returned my pair and purchased the white pair of sony mdr-ex71s. they are really rare but offer even better sound quality and a much more comfortable fit because the earplugs are seperate from the driver unit. that said they are also quite a bit more expensive in store then the ipod ones :P

Summary: Great sound and comfy
Review: instructions bought these from the Apple store and I am extremely satisfied with them. There have been mixed reviews on these ear-buds for 2 reasons. The first is simply a personal preference issue. Some people have differently shaped ears that will just not hold these in place, and some people have exacting standards and don't like the sound. The second reason is that many people have not been inserting them properly. Most just pop 'em in and fire up their music, but if you want the high-quality sound that these buds produce, you need to open up your ear canal by reaching over your head and lifting your ear up and out while inserting the bud. Apple did not include instructions on how to do this with the buds, so I can understand why many people have had trouble with them. Using this technique and discovering which of the 3 pad sizes fits your ear best gives you the best possible sound, and should dispel any fit issues. I highly recommend these earbuds, but in the end it comes down to personal preference. You need to try them out yourself to see if they fit and if you like the sound. Hopefully, knowing how to insert them properly will help in experiencing he best sound and fit.

Summary: Don't pay attention to the 1's...
Review: ...These earbuds are fantastic. I thought I was having trouble keeping them in, since I had only tried the small and medium sized caps. I have small ears, figured there was no was the large would help. Boy, was I ever wrong! With the large caps and a little twisting, these earbuds rival my giant KOSS studio headphones. Steve's suggestion -- lift the top of your ear as you put them in -- makes the fit even better. Some people complain about comfort, but the soft plastic caps make them tons more comfortable than the original earbuds. I just got mine, and I've now been wearing them for two hours straight listening to my 15" P-Book. The bass is articulate, the highs aren't at all tinny, and everything in between is great. The best earbuds I have ever used, perhaps the best headphones altogether. Well worth it.

Summary: Great Sound!
Review: I love these in-ear headphones! The key is "in-ear". For all of you who think they are tinny sounding, you need to find the right sized ear piece (included), and put the headphones IN your ear. I have Harmon Kardon Soundsticks II for my G4 iBook and these earphones are just as good a sound. Hey, the Harmons only cost 180 bucks. But the earphones only cost 39 bucks. What do you want? Great bass, great separation of tracks, clear vocals... on the list goes. If these aren't good enough for you then you are looking in the wrong price range. Not that these don't measure up to more expensive earphones, cause they do. Buy them!

Review: Amazingly, my headphones arrived the day after I purchased them (Thanks, Amazon!) and I have to agree, they are much more comfortable than the OEM headphones that arrived with my iPod mini. One reviewer suggested that by lifting up the top of your ear with one hand and inserting the bud with the other hand would help the headphones stay in better. He was right; this is the way to properly insert the buds into your ear. You'll get a better fit. Furthermore, be sure to choose the correct size bud (these headphones come with 3 sets: small, medium, and large) to help them stay in better. Otherwise, I really appreciate the hard plastic case they come with as it helps keep the cord neat and organized within my carrying case. A final thought: I have been experimenting with the equaliser and have found that some genres of songs benefit, while others do not. It all depends on your preference. I find the sound response improved with these headphones as well. Overall, 4 stars for the headphones...one more star if they came with some type of clip on band for over the head during exercise or other vigorous activity.

Summary: Apple, what are you doing?
Review: Let me start by saying I am a HUGE Apple fan, but these "in-ear" headphones are a complete waste of money. I ordered them because I have a pair of the Sony in-ear headphones that I bought at the Apple store. I loved the Sony one's, but I wanted to get another pair so I tried the Apple headphones. Let me tell you they are terrible. My fiance and I both tried all three sizes on and they just don't stay in. I could not even get them to stay in without moving, they would just fall out of my ear. As with all Apple products the look and feel was great, and the case was amazing. But what good are earphones if they don't stay in your ear? Pros - 1. Great case
2. Matching color Cons - 1. Don't stay in your ear
2. Expensive I would not recommend these to anyone, unless you have a freakishly shaped ear that can somehow accommodate these earbuds. Apple severely messed this one up. I recommend the Sony MDREX71SL Fontopia In-Ear Portable Headphones; they are WAY better.

Review: When I first picked these up I thought that they were the worst purchase ever. Then I changed the ear buds and tried them again. They have a great sound to them and really improve the overall sound of everything. The level of bass that these produce is actually pretty amazing.

Summary: Definitive answer--truly good
Review: After reading all the incredibly positive and incredibly negative reviews, I picked up a pair in disbelief that they could actually be bad. I was right; they are incredible headphones. I promise you--anyone saying they sound "tinny" or "like an AM/FM radio" or "lacking bass" simply did not bother pushing the rubber tip deep enough into their ear canal. It's THAT simple. Since they come with 3 difference size tips, there's just no excuse.

Summary: Great -- Don't Believe the (Negative) Hype
Review: To be honest, I read all of the reviews everywhere on the net, and decided to pick them up at the Apple store -- the 10% restocking fee was worth the chance to try these out at least. They took a little while to get used to, but once you've figured out a way to get them in snuggly (everyone is different), they're amazing. The subway can cause a lot of extra noise, and bein an avid jazz listener, the ear buds weren't cutting it in the least. One day with these headphones changed everything for me -- everything is more pronounced and clear, and they help keep outside noise out. If you're wavering, make a trip to the Apple store, pick them up, and try them for a week -- you won't be sorry.
