Summary: No such thing as the perfect headphones
Review: Superb sound quality. I can't add anything new that you haven't read already in the other reviews, in terms of sound evaluation. Pressure discomfort around the ears can be relieved by simply bending the the headband outwards. Credit goes to Bose designers for the malleable metal core. I'm not put off by the ostensible spartan appearance, which some folks have called "cheap." It's about saving weight! You can't have you're cake and eat it. Nitpicking here, but I find myself annoyed by the occasional creaking or cracking sounds which seem to come from the swivel joints as a result of the slightest head movement. These sounds are naturally amplified through simple conduction and are easily heard over the music. Bending the headband also serves to reduces the occurence of this annoyance to some extent. If I had to do it all over, would I buy them again? Yep.

Summary: Amazing Headphones
Review: The Bose Triports are my third attempt at trying to find quality headphones. I first tried the Sony MDRV700DJ. They had amazing sound, bass and were free of distortion even at very high volume. But they are very uncomfortable and get quite hot. That is because they are designed for DJs in loud setting and are very close to the ear. They were not made for home use. I should have realized that before buying.I then tried the Sennheiser HD570. The were comfortable, but the sound quality was horrible unless you only listened to classic music in a quiet room. These were not designed for music with ANY bass. I should have known that too, but I decided to try one more time. After trying out the Sennheiser HD570 and Sony MDRV700DJ headphones, I turned to the Bose Triport. Finally! These combine the sound quality of the Sony and the comfort of the Sennheiser. Amazing sound, bass and no distortion except at very high volume. They are comfortable and shield a lot of outside noise out. I am very happy now and can't recommend these headphones enough!

Summary: Highest Quality Phones that I Own
Review: There's only so much that can be said about headphones. But if it's a good thing, it can be said about the Triports.
This was my second pair of quality headphones. My first had great sound quality and were loud, but amazingly uncomfortable. I saw the Triports at an Apple store and decided to try 'em out. Oh my god.
There is an amazing sound quality on these things. People complain about the bass being too powerful, but I haven't noticed this at all.
Also, these are amazingly comfortable. They are padded, and I can wear them for hours without feeling any sort of pain in my ears.
Tying into that, the cord length on these is amazing. I'm 5'10", and I can have my MP3 player on the ground, stand up, and still have slack. So you have freedom of movement when doing your homework or something like that.
The only problem that I had with these was when the earpieces kinda broke and started falling off the band. That was kinda annoying. I'd recommend springing for a warrantee with these things. I did, and I brought my phones into the local Bose store and got new ones.
All in all, this is an amazing pair of headphones. Get 'em. Now.

Summary: break too easily
Review: These are extremely comfortable headphones that I was proud to wear for a few days. The sound is more than I could ask for and everything was perfect. Unless you are the most careful person you know, don't buy these because in a few days I know they will break and the super glue will have to be taken out. I have been snapping mine all over the place and finally that is not possible anymore. Now they have actually broken and now the duck-tape is out, and I felt like telling some people that these things break very easily. But dont get me wrong- very nice, good-quality headphones.

Summary: High End Consumer Phones With Excellent Performance
Review: These are really great headphones. You will notice the lack of a qualifier: no price range, style or maker attached to the claim. Perfection is in the ears of the hearer, so I will not claim these phones are perfect, but they are certainly great. If we could give fractional ratings, I'd give these 4.5 stars. Let me begin with the negative points first. I don't like the external packaging and the carry bag is just plain cheap looking. Bose needs to do a little marketing research. These headphones are being marketed a premium product, yet they come in a plastic bubble very reminiscent of what you find $10 earbuds sold in. The carry bag is a simple black fabric drawstring affair. These two points really detract from the consumer's experience. There's no reason Bose can't use the same fitted pouch they sell their QuietComfort headset in for this product as well. Comfort is very good. I've worn mine for up to two hours at a time and have not had any bad experience with them. You do notice you are wearing 'phones, so it's not like they comfort level is in the invisible category. They are light on the head and ear, yet the pads provide a good sound seal. Sound quality is what really makes a good set of headphones great and this is where I feel the Triport shows its value. With an average selling price of [$$$], these are a high-end consumer headset. I've found the sound very bright in the midrange, with nice a crisp high range and no muddy bass. For a set of headphones, I've found the sound range remarkable. You may find a set with a higher dynamic range, but I'm sure it's going to cost a lot more. What I really appreciate is you do not need a high volume to enjoy full audio fidelity with these headphones. If you really crank the volume on a lesser quality headset, you may approximate the bass response the Triports can deliver, but you will do this at the expense of your eardrums. At a low to moderate volume, I am aware of background noise, but the music still comes through nice and clear. If you increase the volume to a mid-level setting, it is like hearing a performance live. For me, one critical reproduction test is the spoken word. While this is an expensive investment if you only listen to audiobooks, I've found them unrivaled in this category. Every subtle vocal inflection and nuance comes through. In addition to bestseller audiobooks, I've been using my Triports while listening to a language learning series and I am picking up intonations I had not previously heard. For the record, I also own a set of QuietComfort headphones. I like the noise-canceling feature they offer, but sometimes I don't want the inconvenience associated with the external battery pack they require. While I am very satisfied with the sound of the QuietComfort, I find the high range of the Triports more natural sounding. This may be due to the layer of white noise generated by the QuietComfort headset. For travel, or other situations where I want audio privacy, they are still my first choice. The Triports have taken over for all other uses.

Summary: extremely comfortable with good sound
Review: These headphones are amazing when it comes to comfort. They're very light, and the pressure on the head is so minimal you could almost forget they're on your head. With other earphones, I tend to get headaches afer listening for forty minutes or so. Because these are so comfortable I could wear them much longer than an average headphone. I also own the Sony MDR-V700, which have a stronger volume output and better distortion levels than the Bose. However, they're twice as heavy and squeezes my head way too strong. The Sonys are also a bit heavy on bass. Bose on the other hand has less bass output but has excellent mid and highs. With the proper balance between the low, mids and highs, these Bose headphones produce excellent sound quality.

Summary: Pure sound, like you're in the studio
Review: These headphones offer clear, distortion-free sound. I hear every note, at every frequency. Nothing seems over- or under-emphasized. The impression is that you're the producer, hearing the sound from your booth inside the studio. I can now put to bed thoughts and concerns about buying more headphones, or worrying about mis-hearing music; that's the best reason to buy them.

After five months, the headband above one of the ears snapped. When I still tried to wear it, it would occasionally pop out and hurt my ear. I've read other reviews of others who had the same problem. I sent mine back through customer service, and got a free replacement (it was still under warranty), however I was very disappointed. For $150, most people expect quality headphones that will last longer than five months. Two months after I recieved my replacement, they broke AGAIN! I finally asked for a refund, and I'm awaiting their response. Sure, there are plenty of good reviews here, but why risk having the headphones break, and waste $150? Trust me, these aren't worth $150, or anywhere near that insane value.

Summary: Bose is not the way to go
Review: You might hear that Bose is great, Bose is good. It simple isn't true. Do some research before making an expensive piece of audio equipment, Bose is not a good buy. I'm not here to say they don't sound decent, they might to you. As far as value goes, they couldn't be any worse. Bose could be arguably the best Walmart-type speaker around, but if you are going to spend money on audio, I wouldn't recommend this kind of product. Speakers selling for 1/3 the price at audio stores and on the Internet will best any Bose product.
