Summary: Simple, Elegant Quality
Review: This telephone is elegant and simple. Very few frills, but outstanding voice quality, rivaling my excellent Telemax corded phone.

Before buying it, I purchased and returned a Sony 900Mhz answering system and a top end Uniden 2.4Ghz answering system, both of which had annoying echo and sounded thin and metalic to people I called.

The new GE phone cost me [price] at K-Mart and to go with it I bought a used AT&T Digital Answering Device for [price] at GoodWill.

With the 27700GE2 I do not get caller ID or an answering system, but I use the phone a lot and I would gladly sacrifice many features for good quality sound at the right price. For voice quality, this phone compares favorably with the top end Panasonic phones that have so many frills you have to keep a user manual at your side all the time, and that cost three times as much.

The GE has a solid feel, and is well styled. In the hand, it is not at all like the smaller wireless-look-alike phones that look, feel, and sound small. This is a meaty phone that fits the hand perfectly, and you can hold it in place with your shoulder.

For more features, move up to the 27730GE2 that has Caller ID/Call Wating -- if you feel you need those features.

Summary: not a bad buy...
Review: We've owned this phone for about a month now, and here are the pros & cons we have identified. Pros: clear & crisp sound, nice ergo design, backlit keypad. Cons: funky ring (may be able to change it?), static in reception when our microwave is running. I've owned about 5 cordless phones over the last 10 years, and this one is the nicest so far. It is a solid, basic phone for a reasonable price-- not too many bells & whistles, but then who needs them? Oh, by the way, our other phone is a Vtech 900Mhz & the sound on this GE phone is better.

Summary: The perfect Phone
Review: Well, I got this phone for $50. It was a good buy. Well, I did not plan to use the caller Id but I found that the display would not come on hardly at all without it. I am not sure the Caller Id works since I do not plan to use it. Well the display worked one time only. So I have no way to turn off the ringer. The sound quality is good. The distance is less than my 900mz At&t mainly because it has a out of range warning that makes you stop. There is no buss in the phone but sometimes music on the other side comes and goes. It seems ok on phone calls. Over all it is a good phone but It waste a lot of power and I am not sure if it is just not working right. The sound is ok though. It is hard to find a good phone though.
