Summary: Performance wears off...
Review: I bought this phone a few months ago from an office store. It worked very well the first couple of months. I then began to get some out of range signals, even though being just a few feet away from the base. Now, the out of range signals haven't increased as I've read in other reviews, but the sound quality decreased by about 50% along with much static when walking, to the point that I feel I need a new phone. I don't think it's Panasonic that is to blame here, but rather the 2.4GHz technology. So I will not get another 2.4GHz phone. Also, the ear piece is somewhat too open and it becomes difficult to maintain a conversation if your immediate environment gets noisy. I rate it two stars because I liked the design of that phone and it worked fairly well for six months. I do not wish to deal with their customer service because I have no time.I hope this helps some of you.

Summary: Pricey and poor quality - lost confidence in Panasonic
Review: Hi, I've had this phone for about 3 years now... Its been quite unreliable. The phone went "OUT OF RANGE" after about 6 months of buying it. It became unusable. Went to the Panasonic service center and got it repaired under warranty. The service person told me that the problem is VERY COMMON for this model. He said that there is a faulty chip or something and after repairs it will not have problems. But after a few months after repairs, the "OUT OF RANGE" kept happening. But now, it has become much worse and the handset hardly ever picks up when there is an incoming ring. There is also so much static that its become unusable. I've lost confidence in Panasonic after this product (Made in Japan) and I am considering other brands as replacement.

Summary: Whats the longest you've ever had a cordless last???
Review: I have had this phone for at least 3 or 4 years. Usually a cordless phone stops working (for what reason who knows) and the battery seems to need to be replaced, you replace the battery but a few months later the same thing. THIS PHONE HAS BEEN A REAL TROOPER. It has been left out on the front porch in the rain, it has been watered with the hose. you get the idea. I have read some other peoples reviews on here. I say DO NOT WOORRY< this is a great phone. I am about to buy another one now ( the number one is starting to give me trouble (all this dialing 1 every time you dial) ANyway ...the reason I am buying this SAme phone again is because it reaches VERY FAR, clear down to the park about 500 / 600 feet away from the house, no other phone has come close

Summary: Great phone; just keep it clean.
Review: I've owned the 2570 for 3 or 4 years and find the sound quality and signal strength are great. I recharge the handset only sporadically but have never had a problem with the battery. Every few months the handset displays an "out-of-range" message which prevents making a call. I finally figured out that this simply means the phone needs to be cleaned. The remedy is to wipe-off the base and handset with a slightly damp clean cloth; then the phone works fine. I live in a city where the air is dirty. What would improve this phone? A stronger backlight on the phone and base displays; a speakerphone option on the handset (it's awkward as currently designed); and longer lasting numbers and letters on the handset - they are beginning to wear-off. What do I really like about it? The voice clarity; the rubber grips along the sides of the handset that make it comfortable to hold and prevents slipping; and the overall quality.

Summary: Clear and Confusing.....Huh?
Review: I tried a VTech 2.4 GHx and the whitenoise I heard and the static the person on the other end heard was UNBELIEVEABLE! So I bought this phone (based in part on it being so highly rated in Consumer Reports, October 2000 issue.) It is extremely crisp, as good as my corded phone. I have experienced no problems near microwaves, etc. Obviously others have with this and other phones. I would guess every locale has a different set of electronic waves and interferences, so perhaps that accounts for the wide range of response on that issue. I couldn't be more pleased with the clarity, however. As for the confusing part, the phone and operation is way too complicated. You'd better have the manual handy if you want to take full advantage of all the features. After some use though, it does get easier. But, as others have commented, no mute button! no redial button! ....hard to believe that would be true on nearly a... So I would give it 5 stars for clarity and performance, 3 stars for lack of some features and difficult interface, for an average of four.

Summary: Better than others but not as good as its price.
Review: I decided to purchase this phone because I was getting rid of an old AT&T cordless phone/answering system that I have had for years. I wanted to buy something comparable, but with a caller ID and head set. I first bought a Uniden 2.4 Ghz cordless phone/answering system. The quality of the answering system's digital playback was seriously lacking. I also experienced the problem of hearing my voice as an echo; just like other reviewers wrote about. I returned the Uniden, and decided to spend the extra bucks to get a Panasonic. The Panasonic phone is stylish and has crystal clear reception (even with the antennas down). The range of the Panasonic phone was slightly further than the Uniden, but they were both about 100yards (good enough for me). After having owned the phone for a week I am learning about several flaws with the Panasonic: 1. With my old AT&T phone I could quickly dial my frieds by pressing the "Mem" key and a number. On this phone it is a chore. I have to hit function, press down on the big blue button, press the side of the blue button, press the number corresponding with the person's name, and then press talk. 2. Many times I have to press a button on the handset several times before I get a reponse. 3. The hand display is backlit, but the base display isn't. My phone sits in a dark portion of the room and I like to quickly glance at the numer of messages. 4. The display becomes oily since the earpiece sits slightly further back than the display and sometimes touches my face. 5. The digital playback is better than the Uniden but isn't near the quality of my old tape answering machine. I am contemplating returning this phone and buying a seperate answering machine from the phone. I have seen a Radio Shack 900Mhz phone/answering system advertised that looks promising, but I am going to see if they will let me try it out in the store.

Summary: Battery doesn't last
Review: This phone has never been useful to us. You can talk 10 minutes and the battery starts beeping and the phone goes dead. We kept the phone on the charger when not in use BUT to no avail. We had to buy another cheaper phone and discard the Panasonic KX-TG2570B which cost $79.99.

Summary: Avoid it
Review: I too have this "out of range" problem after about one year of use. I e-mailed Panasonic Customer Service twice about this problem and have received no reply at all. I finally got fed up with this junk and bought a Uniden 2.4 GHz phone (TRU4485-2) to replace it, and the Uniden has no problem at all. So the problem is NOT because of the increase use of wireless network as one of the reviewers claimed. "Made in Japan" is not necessarily good. This is definitely one of my worst purchases in my life. And I will never ever purchase any Panasonic product.

Summary: Few few problems
Review: I've had this phone for about 2 years now and I haven't had any problems with it. The only problem that I am experiencing now, is that the battery doesn't hold a charge for anything longer than 20 minutes of talk time. Which, I understand, is normal of batteries. I've never had the "out of range" problem or anything like that. Of course, I do live in a semi small town in Iowa and not a remotely large city. So I have very little that would interfere with the phone.

Summary: If I could give it less than 1 star....
Review: This is a joke. I have had this phone since 12/01 and it just completely died. I am standing on top of the base and it says out of range. The caller id never picks up, for that matter, by the time the phone decides to ring, the caller has gone to the answering machine. The static is awful-and it just happened overnight. I DO not recommend this...
