Rating: Summary: Best Cordless Phone Ever Review: This phone is so simple to operate and very user friendly. All functions are simple and easy to remember. Phone battery life is excellent. Speakerphone is very cool. From the handset you can talk as if you had a speakerphone - clarity impressive. Voice announcement is very cool. You preprogram names with your own voice and when that person calls it is announce with your own voice. Only downside so far is that their are only 20 slots to store voice recognition.
Rating: Summary: Good as it gets...right now. Review: IMO, this phone is the best all around 2.4GHz expandable cordless phone. ... As one of the reviewers has already said, many of the features people have complained about can be shut off. For example the "low battery" warning. Also, from my experience the phone has no issues with the quality of sound under normal circumstances. ... Thirdly, the problem concerning the screen that indicates there are "new messages" even if it's just a logged caller ID call. This is true, however; if you do have "voice" messages the machine will play them automatically when you press the message button. Where as, if there are no voice messages you simply will be shown a screen of caller ID numbers that were logged. ... Now with all that, here's my pros and cons list:Pros: Crystal Clear sound Voice activated dialing Sleek Design Answering machine accessible from all headsets In house calling and call forwarding. Expandability Speakerphone Alarm Clock feature No "barging in" feature, in which no one else can pick up and use another handset while someone is talking (this can also be shut off). Capable of direct dialing to a specific headset. Cons: Poor battery performance ...No external headset jack Flash (mem) button must be depressed for about 2 seconds to work No "real" ringer tone
Rating: Summary: Practice will make this a perfect cordless Review: Before I pass judgement on this phone, let me say that it was a replacement from the factory for a dreadfully unreliable earlier model (2415). After that experience, I was skeptical about the reliability so I've waited a year to "review" this model. First off, the quality of the handsets is very high and has the feel of solidity. This model is made in Germany, not like the flimsy earilier ones. This phone has a rather steep learning curve and will require more thorough reading of the manual in order to utilise it's many, many features. I was rather flummoxed by it for the first few weeks until I learned how to program it's voice recognition dialer, it's ability to mute or lower the ringer at specific times, it's intercom abilities. Truly, no other cordless phone offers all of these features. The expandability is of course a nice convenience; the sound is clear and the range good. Siemens customer service was very accomodating, and I'm in agreement when the representative told me "with this model, we've got it right." Four stars rather than five only because it requires more patience to learn than others; but if you're used to a better mobile phone, that will help.
Rating: Summary: Big on Features, but Short on Performance! Review: Like most gadget heads, I searched the net extensively for reviews and opinions on cordless phones before purchasing this one...I was intrigued by those who raved about its features, and wanted to see this for myself. The good: Voice quality is very good Lots of features Attractive design The bad: Background noise Poor layout on the handset No wall mount I didn't experience the battery problems that others mentioned, but I'm the type that places the handset back on the base when I'm finished talking. What really surprised me was the background white noise I heard consistently. I moved the base to 3 different places in my house, but still couldn't get it to clear up... The menus aren't all that difficult to navigate - if you have a cell phone, you can use this phone. Granted the numerous options may require reading the user manual for more detail, but I wouldn't expect most people to know how to figure out internal dialing, etc. without directions. Bottom line - this is a good looking, feature packed phone, but its performance where it really counted has left me still searching...
Rating: Summary: Exceptional phone with very minor flaws Review: This phone does it all. Since there are too many functions to list. I will mention a few of my favorites. 1. Voice dialing (Works very well!) 2. Speaker phone on handset (Loud and clear) 3. Sleek, clean design (Internal antenna is nice) 4. Programming 200 names and numbers 5. Ring volume reduces at night. (You can program the timeframe and volume) 6. Digital Answering machine. (Replaces our voicemail service) 7. Rechargable double "A" batteries instead of the expensive brand name phone batteries. (nuff said) 8. Multiple handset add-on feature is great for expanding. The few negative aspects of the siemens 4215 are: 1. Buttons could be a little more responsive. (Just press a little harder) 2. Room monitor is not sensitive enough. (But I did not purchase it for that extra feature) 3. The programming of all the features may be a little complex for your average user. Keep in mind, the positives definitely surpass the negatives for this product. I highly recommend this phone system for any one looking for a phone that will do it all.
Rating: Summary: I have owned this phone since it was introduced in the U.S. Review: I have owned this phone since they introduced it in the United States, so a little over 3 years. My system consists of one 4215 base unit and 3 of the 4200's. 1) You will either love this phone or hate it. 2) Don't buy it for Grandmother - it will totally confuse her. 3) Replace the batteries that come with the unit IMMEDIATELY with something like Maha PowerEx NiMh 2200mAh Rechargeable - you will be amazed how long a charge will last. 4) I love the fact that it takes AA size batteries, not something that will cost more than the phone to replace and is impossible to find. 5) The range is fantastic! - I live on 2 acres and can easily walk to my neighbors home and still make and receive calls as if I were in my living room. 6) If your power is out the system will NOT function. Keep a standard telephone plugged into one of your outlets to be safe. But this is no different than most units. If there is no power they will not transmit. 7) Yes there is a delay in the keypad as others have mentioned it is very minor and I pay no attention to it. 8) It would have been nice if the phones had a headset plug built in. 9) The speakerphone quality is excellent - one of my favorite features. 10) Keypad lock is nice if you want to put it in your pocket and work outside or walk up the street to your neighbors. 11) Very well made, mine still look like new even though they have been dropped and mishandled. 12) I wish the keypad was lighted 13) The standard ring tone is unique (european), the others are melodies - you may or may not like them. 13) You can set the phone's ring volume to a lower or different tone for specific hours. For example midnight to 6:30 am. 14) Room monitor is a nice feature.
Rating: Summary: Piece of Junk! Review: I purchased this phone less than a year and a half ago and now it simply stopped functioning. Customer service disclaims any responsibility since it is over a year old. For the price that I paid, I feel this product and service associated with it is a ripoff!
Rating: Summary: I wish I could return Review: I have the 4215 and spare handset with base(I think its the 4210). I bought this combo because of the positive reviews when I was researching on this site, speaker phone feature, and sleek look. I now wish I could return it to Amazon. The phone is not intuitive to use. I am pretty technical and normally can figure things out without readding the manual. Not so with the Siemens phone. Also, there is no key for instant mute. The worst part is the keys are slow to execute. Meaning if I press a key, there is a delay. My cable remote is the same and I hate it! Other phones do not seem to have this problem. The battery also seems to be weak. If I leave the phone off the base for a day, the phone is dead. I would not recommend this phone.
Rating: Summary: Do not buy this phone Review: Battery went dead withing couple of months. replaced battery by paying $. Bad customer service, they do not want here problems with phone.
Rating: Summary: High end features-low end price Review: You've probably already read hundreds of reviews on cordless phones and can't decide what to get. Well, here is the down and dirty! The Siemens 4215 has similar features to high end cordless phones but not the high price. Features galore may overwhelm you at first but going through the manual, and I mean sitting down and actually reading it through makes a big difference between loving it and hating it. The best feature that I find most convienient is the internal calling. This gives you the ability to call between handsets, which is something I could not find on the popular Uniden phones. In addition, the phone can be used as a monitor. If sound is detected on your monitoring handset it will immediately call the other handset or dial an external number (cell phone). Really cool features, but it does have its drawbacks. For example, I have a wireless 802.11b network in my house which give me an annoying clicking noise in the handset when in a call. However, this only happens while I'm sitting next to my wireless router. Once I move away to another room the annoying clicking sound goes away.(Maybe time to upgrade my wireless network) Also, the keypad does not light up. This makes it very difficult to type in numbers when your in the dark. Despite the drawbacks I have been very satified my purchase and would recommend it. Also, receiving a $60 rebate made my decision easier.
