Summary: Outstanding product - perfect for busy moms
Review: I bought this for my wife as a Christmas present, and she loves it! She can walk around the house, take care of the little ones, etc. while talking on the phone. The headset can be a little awkward at first, but I find the sound quality to be excellent. We have had no problems whatsoever with interference from our wireless computer network.

Summary: Genuinely Lives Up to the Hype
Review: I have bought these as gifts for 2 people and they both went nuts. It works great -- huge roaming radius -- no static, comfortable headsets. And featherweight. Highly recommend. No downside.

Summary: Tiny phone fits the bill
Review: I make a lot of phone calls. In a typical month, I place 100 to 300 calls from my home office doing a specialized type of investment research. Yet, I'm up and down from my desk all the time, so a cordless phone is essential. (I use a Plantronics M145 headset, which is also excellent (see my review on that product's page.).) I had a very nice Panasonic 900 mHz cordless that was configured very nicely, but no matter how careful I was, it would end up slipping off my belt and falling on the floor. (I've retired the Panasonic to my wife's desk and she enjoys it very much.) The Uniden truc46 is so small I can slip it in my pocket, yet it has clear sound and lots of convenient features. I have been using it for nearly a month, and it has worked flawlessly. It is an excellent phone and well worth the investment.

Summary: Worth every nickel, dime and quarter....
Review: I pretty much have to agree with all that has been said previously. It's easy to use, compact and provides tremendous range. I bought this phone as a result of the reviews I read here and would like to thank all those who took the time to explain its benefits. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

Rather than repeat all that has been said previously I'd like to share an experience I had today while using it. I work from home, but live about 150-175 yards from my office. I needed to walk down their today and decided to keep the phone with me to check its range. To my surpise, it rang while I was inside AND I was able to answer! The clarity was very good as I stood near the entry door and did not start to break-up until I went further inside. That's pretty darn good. Especially if you consider my regular 2.4ghz Sony breaks apart soon after I pass my front door.

Buy this phone if you are looking for a cordless headset that will give you range and clarity in an easy to use small package.

Summary: Great little phone
Review: I purchased this phone for use in my home office. I have lots of very long calls (45 - 60 minutes). So, I was looking for a phone I could move around with.

My voice sounds great over it. I've checked with people that I have talked to and they've all said I sound crisp and clear. The reception is also wonderful. Everyone sounds as clear as their own phones will transmit. I have used the handheld set away from its base all over the house and still have clear reception. I have not tried it outside so cannot comment on that particular aspect of use.

As a prior reviewer mentioned, the mute button has to be pressed and held for a second or two before the call is muted. I didn't realize that the first time or two I tried it. Luckily for me, I didn't do anything embarrassing before I realized I was still "live".

The keys are extremely small. They can be difficult to deal with. I either use my fingernails to dial or the eraser end of a pencil. For me, this is the most negative thing I have to say about the phone. The phone does have lots of memory storage. I have put in all the numbers I use as a matter of course & then it is a matter of scrolling through memory to find the correct number.

The size is great for me since I have small hands. I have found myself carrying it in the palm of my hand, even when I have it in the holder. It is comfortable for me to do so, rather than clip it to my belt. I don't wear shirts with pockets too often, otherwise I would probably put it in my pocket.

A nice feature (for me) is that you can type in the number before dialing. In this manner you have a chance to correct any mistakes before connecting to a wrong number.

All in all, I am pleased with the purchase and would buy it again.

Summary: Faulty connection with headset
Review: I read all the glowing reviews and went with Uniden instead of Plantronics. What a mistake. First of all, I thought the phone would be much bigger...the main reason for not picking the Plantronics.
The bigger issue is that I have used the phone for under three months and the connection between the phone and the headset has become loose. My phone conversations got very static filled at first and now the phone just cuts in and out!! I am so disappointed.
To make matters worse, their warranty requires you to UPS the phone in yourself and then wait for it to be repaired and sent back...unless you want to pay ..., and receive a "like new" phone in return. You still pay for the original phone to be sent back.
I wish I had listened to my brother who has a Plantronic and loves it. I would recommend you do the same!

Summary: Works ok together with a wireless network
Review: I was slightly hesitant to purchase this product as I was planning to use the phone together with a computer on a wireless network (A Dell with a TrueMobile Wireless 1150 card and the Netgear MR814 Wireless base station). After having set everything up I did experience initially that the quality of the wireless connection went down when I was in a phone call quite a bit. The voice quality was never impacted and has consistently been great. I then while in a call and with the wireless network active pressed the Select/CH button on the phone in order to get the phone to switch the channel that it uses. That immediately fixed the problem. The phone seems to scan the available channels and select one that is not used (i.e. by the wireless network).

I do like the following aspects of the phone:
- excellent voice quality
- larger of the included headset fits very well and is comfortable to wear even over long periods of time. I Sometimes am in conference calls several hours per day when working from home and it is always comfortable.
- I can adjust the headphone volume if I am in a conference call with people on a speakerphone to better understand them.
- I can easlity switch to my other phone. When I pick up the phone in my room and the call is for my wife I can just tell her to pick up in the other room. As soon as she is on the call I just hand up and she can continue to call (this is not really a feature of the phone and mught depend on your particular telephone wiring)

What could be improved in the product:
- the second (small) headphone is pretty uncomfortable for my (fairly large :-) ) ears. So if not including it would cut the price, leave it out.
- the cable for the larger headphone is a pretty heavy and rigid cable. I would have preferred to have a very thin, light, and flexible as the phone itself is also pretty small and it would just handle a little better.

Overall, a very good buy that now enables me to work anywhere in the house (or the garden) with the computer while being on the phone for long stretches of time.

Summary: This is exactly what I was looking for!
Review: I work from home and participate in many conference calls. I needed to be able to use a headset because holding a phone to my ear for the duration of a conference call made it hard for me to also look up information on my computer and also made my elbow ache. I tried using headsets on my cordless phones and the quality was very poor.

The Uniden TRUC46 is great! I can hear better during a conference call than with any other phone that I own. The over the head type headset is excellent. I have had no complaints from anyone that I've had a phone conversation with in regard to the quality of the microphone - which did happen when I tried headsets on my other phones. They don't seem to notice that I am using a headset!

The over the ear type headset is of lesser quality. I can't hear as well with it and the microphone does not pick up as well as the over the head type. This is too bad because I would prefer to use the over the ear type.

I really like the distinctive ring option because when the main office calls, I don't even have to look at the caller id to know that they are the ones calling. The vibrate option is also great because I don't have to worry about being able to hear the phone ringing. This is very handy when I am mowing the lawn and waiting for a call.

This phone has given me a lot more freedom to do the things that I need to do than any other phone that I own. I don't know how I ever lived without it!

The small size is great! It can fit in a pocket or, with the holster attached, I can hang it from the collar of my t-shirt because it is so light.

I LOVE THIS PHONE!

Summary: not as advertised -- not the TRUC46
Review: I'm pretty much in agreement with the other reviews, this phone is pretty nice. It's light weight and has good reception. I've got the base for the phone, a WiFi router, and a BlueTooth adapter all within 4 feet of each other and they aren't interfering each other at all.

The part about "not what I was expecting" I only just discovered tonight, after having the phone for a few weeks, I probably wouldn't have caught on if I hadn't decided to leave a review. :) The phone I received isn't the one I ordered, I got a TRU C56. I'd wondered why I didn't get the 2nd headset I'd read about, but chalked it up to marketing language and ignored it. Now that I double checked my box, I found that it was a 56 instead of the 46. The only difference I can figure out between the two of them is that the 46 comes with 2 headsets, and the 56 comes with 1 headset that's different and has the ability to add handsets to it if you want. The 56 has a headset that has speakers on both ears, so maybe this is a slightly better headset, dunno.

As far as the rest of the phone though, it seems the same, and I'd give this unit a thumbs up. Spend the few bucks more and go with one of these Unidens instead of some cheapy model, you'll be happy with it.
