Summary: Maybe even 4.5 stars ....
Review: I really like this phone. A friend of mine got a couple, and the first time I tried it I had to rush out and buy one for myself. It comes with an extra battery that charges while the unit is out of the cradle, which is very convenient. Another nice touch is the unit's clip on the back - positioned at the bottom so when it's clipped to your pocket the buttons aren't upside-down - so you don't have to unclip it to operate! All the buttons, for that matter, are well-placed. If GE could do just ONE thing that would make this phone a full 5 stars for me (and I'd buy some more of them then!), it would be to add a Caller ID display in the space above the "Phone" On/Off button. Oh - that's the GE 26970GE2!

Review: I think this phone is the greatest thing and have used it for about three years. I bought one for my mom with caller id and she loved it and wants another (hers broke). Bought one for a friend last year and he loves it too!!

Summary: Well Worth it for the Price...........
Review: I've been a freelance writer for 5 years now and I frequently conduct phone interviews, as part of my work. Sometimes, these phone interviews can last up to 2-hours! All these years, I've worked by tilting my head to one side, balancing Mr. Phone on my shoulder while typing with my two free hands.

Now, I have this GE cordless headset phone and I LOVE IT. The reception is crystal clear, even from a distance, and the headset is comfortable and doesn't shift around on my head. It has volume controls which is also a big help and I find myself wearing this phone as I do the dishes, clean the house, etc.

I highly recommend this phone and I've been very satisfied with it in every way - from performance, to usefulness, to ease of use and wearing comfort - it's a winner!

Summary: In this price range - tops
Review: I've had the same problem as others mentioned - headset connectors failed. However, this was after 1 and 1/2 years of daily use. Sound quality is good. Nothing else comes close in this price range. Try getting just a decent headset for this price.

Summary: Great phone
Review: I've owned this phone for several years now. I simply love it. Unfortunatly, they don't make a 2.4ghz version and I'm finding I need more range than the 900mhz can provide. Still, it's a very convienient design. Easy to use. Simply a great hands-free phone.

Summary: Wonderful bargain
Review: I've owned this phone for somewhere around six months, and have yet to have a problem with it. Although I do understand how it could have some of the cord shortages some people report (by the very nature of the product), I have dropped, dangled, hung, wrapped, and just about anything else imaginable NUMEROUS times, and it still performs as well as the day I bought it. I REALLY don't understand the one gentleman's claims of a short battery life -- I often use it for MANY hours at a time, with power to spare. I don't often have to use the second battery (which alone adds tremendous value to the product, along with the spare charger slot on the base), but it's terribly handy for those times when you happen to leave the phone off the base for several days (like many of us tend to). It doesn't have the best range in the world (you'd have to shell out big bucks for a 1.2GHz DSS phone for that), but it's plenty for most household roaming, and there's very little crosstalk, even in my busy condominium complex. The oversized power button is a bit unsettling, but I've only accidentally hung up on one person in the phone's life, and that's a feat considering my own usual clumsiness. The headset is comfortable, and the entire unit is fairly lightweight. The belt clip might be a bit on the small side, but I haven't had many problems keeping it attached to most clothing (even the flimsiest). Overall, a wonderful bargain.
