Rating: Summary: Cross bleed between the 2 lines Review: Overall I have been very happy with the functionality of this phone ,I find it to be easy to hold onto with minimal hand cramping on extended calls,However I have been experiencing cross bleed between the two phone lines. We have had our entire phone system checked out only to find that the problem lies within this phone ,also the sound quality of the message that callers hear is poor -I have had many customers complain of this ,but I have found it hard to replace such a full featured phone as this,so I will make do until technology catches up.
Rating: Summary: Poor Audio Quality Review: The phone has many nice features, however, the quality of the outgoing message is terrible! It is worse than streaming audio over a 28.8 modem. Surprisingly, the audio of the messages people leave is fine. Also, if your callers are soft spoken, the answering machine will hang up on them in the middle of a message. However, the headphone jack, and the ability to charge a second battery in the base are a definite plus.
Rating: Summary: VTech 2960 sound quality is abysmal Review: The phone is easy to use and the answering machine is reasonable. The lack of a keypad on the base station can be annoying because you have to use the tiny buttons on the handset instead. The real problem with this phone is abysmal sound quality. People kept asking me to "speak up" and I kept saying "Excuse me" to get people to repeat things that I couldn't make out. And god forbid that you are taking to someone on a cell phone - reciprocal gibberish. So bad that I had to return this phone. So I cannot recommend this phone to you.
Rating: Summary: A Good Deal Review: The sound quality is great, both for me and for the people on the other end. The functions are awesome, and I really like having an answering machine that works with both lines. The only problem I've found so far is that, as the editorial review said, the advanced features are not as intuitive as I would have liked. I'm going to have to keep the manual handy until I am sure I know how to do everything. My only other quibble is that someone pasted a little sticker over the one-year warranty, to make it only a 90-day warranty. That's probably because I opted to buy through one of the vendors rather than direct through Amazon, but I still think it's kind of cheesy. But the phone is great!
Rating: Summary: Needlessly Complicated Review: There's nothing intuitive about the operation of this phone. I'm a smart person and my husband is an electrical engineer, but we had to read the manual to change the time and to record an outgoing message - ever time we wanted to do these things. Also, the handset is heavy and bulky.
Rating: Summary: Good features and price, but poor quality and service Review: This is my first electronics purchase from Amazon. It is one of the few phones on the market that had all the features I needed - and the price was quite a bit less than I expected to pay. But... 1. The design is more complicated than it needs to be - not intuitive at all. 2. The range is less than my other 900 MHz phones. 3. The battery needed replacing after five weeks. 4. The phone started goofing up after seven weeks, and, after waiting on hold for an hour, the factory said my only option was to box it up and spend the $10 to mail it in for exchange. As a result, I'm not inclined to buy any more V-Tech products - even if the prices and features are good.
Rating: Summary: This phone is awesome. Review: This is the best cordless phone that I have ever owned. It took me a while to track this one down. The 2 line feature, and caller id make this one stand out from the other VTech models. The battery that came with the phone has a very long talk time. I have been amazed. If you are planning on hanging this phone on the wall, be carefull, the handset doesn't hook on the base very well. Our is always falling off. Overall I really like this phone.
Rating: Summary: Good range of features and good value for money. Review: This phone has all the features and has been easy to set up and use. The only problem I've found is flipping between handset and speakerphone - it works but could be easier. The handset is quite heavy, but reception is good.
Rating: Summary: Worst phone I've ever owned Review: This phone is a total piece of crap not to mention a complete and utter waste of money. My gripes with it are as follows: 1) answering machine is very difficult to operate/program 2) the actual phone itself is uncomfortable to talk into for more than 30 seconds, and 3) for this price range, you could get a much better phone (Panasonic or AT&T). I threw mine away rather than donating it to the poor house. No one needs the extra headache.
