Summary: Great look, good quality phone
Review: If you love the look of the new iMacs, you'll love this phone. I'm not
much into fads and I'm sure in 10 yrs we'll all be laughing about the
Y2K obsession with clear colored plastic goodies, but for now, I'm
enjoying it.

Vtech has taken advantage of the translucent plastic by
having the base light up w/ LEDs underneath the plastic when the phone
is placed back on the base.

The only reason I've given this phone 4
stars is because it lacks a flash button for call-waiting. The volume
control on the handset is also handy.

I saw one review that
commented that the battery life is low, but I've been using this phone
for over a year w/o problems, and considering it's the only phone I
use most of the time, that's pretty good... sounds like this person
got a dud or something.

The phone has decent range... the base is
located in a bedroom to the front of my house, but I'm able to walk in
my backyard and play w/ my dogs w/o degredation of signal.

The
on-receiver channel button is convenient when a neighbor happens to be
on the same signal or if there's other interference. The only thing
I'd change is the addition of a flash button and perhaps an advanced
phone that includes support for 2 phone lines on the same phone.
Since I have a two-line jack, I just use a 2-line splitter so I can
hook my modem up to line two and this Vtech phone to line one.

Summary: fun colors!
Review: the colors you can choose from are awesome! having a phone that is 900 mhz is great. like i said the colors add life to your desk or counter! recomended by me! easy to hold on to!

Summary: okay phone, cool color, short battery life
Review: The phone has a good feel in your hand and good balance. I really like the color. Its range and clarity I would rate about average for a 900 mhz analog phone, not nearly as good as a DSS though. I really like the volume control, and the headset volume on medium is as good or better than high on some other phones. My main gripe is with the batttery life. I have the black version of this at the office and the battery will last almost a week, and that would include at least 2 hours talk time, but my blue version at home will go only 2-3 days and very little talk time before beeping. I don't understand the difference between the two, unless I have a dud battery. The battery is not available at any of the local stores here,it seems to be proprietary, which is a big downer for me. The phone is easily programmable to call in, for example, a telephone dictation system, and get dictations. There is a way to put pauses, etc., but the how-to is buried in the manual. Once it beeps for low battery, you have very little time to finish your conversation. The ability to choose between four different ring tones is nice.

Summary: A great phone but...
Review: This BLUE version is more costly than the red or green version - WHY I CANNOT TELL YOU! Still this is a great quality item, the image of what a cordless phone "should be"... Highly recommended if you can handle the extra $10...

Summary: all looks, no quality
Review: This phone is pleasing to the eye, but I found that this phone was too clunky. When holding this phone on your shoulder, you may end up hanging up on the person. The talk button sticks out in a way that its easy to hang up with a slight touch of your ear. My roomate had this phone at college and didn't find it handy at all. I would have liked to have a redial button too. The volume could be raised so that your own voice would be louder, but the person to whom you're speaking will still sound distant. Sound quality was bad once I walked in to the next room as well. I don't recommend buying this phone.

Summary: Best Bet for your Money!
Review: With VTech, it is hit and miss with their products, luckily this phone is home run and redeams their company name.

My past experience with VTech phones lead me to belive that certian models were very poorly made. The 9001, for instance, had poor battery performance, weak signal range, and sound quality on both the receiving and sending end was far below par.

This model is durable, the battery life is passable, and both sound quality and range are top notch.

Don't let the low price scare you away from these phones, they are packed with all the features you'll ever need in a phone...and none of the ones you'll never use.

Key Points:

* The page feature will continually page until you go find the phone. This is a lot better than the old page and see if you can find the general part of the house it's in.

* The range is great. I have gone almost a block with this unit wiht great sound quality.

* Volume is adjustable at the headset without any distortion.

Key Drawbacks:

* No Illumination. This can be tough in the dark, but saves on the batteries.

* Battery life could be stronger, but you'll get an hour or two on a charge.

All around this is a fine phone worthy of the price. Highly recommended for teens, dorm rooms, secondary phone, or really any application.

I really can't say enough about this fine phone, but buy it.
